Maybe it was an anti-botting measure at one point (were bots even more openly botting than they do now?) but it's no longer needed.

How much of a chance?

Anecdotal evidence, of course, but so far I've gotten my tickets off zone mobs 3 days running. 4 mobs, 3 mobs, 8 mobs.
Tommy_The_Gun wrote: »Got the tickets and a strongbox from a random mob lol.
...But... how are we supposed to get more strongboxes with Voriplasm Pet / Grave stake memento ? One per day on an event that lasts 13 days, with one day "lost" (because of game re-download) - so 12 days... and 14 fragments to get... With RNG you will get some duplicates so event tickets may be not enough.
Any way to get more than one per day ?
It's worse than that, I just collected my box and there was no fragment of either momento within it!
Sounds like user-error.

It's getting worse, 3 days 3 boxes and only one fragment (of the momento)! I need to find an online guide on how to do this event and open the strongboxes properly! Can a you-tuber please make one so that my user-erroring doesn't stop me from getting a squishy pet?

I know ZOS's intention was to make you spend some "quality time" in dungmire, rather than going in, doing one thing, escaping to somewhere that doesn't suck and stink, but it screws over anyone who's got a limited time to get in and play, as well.
Kindly go back to "first boss you kill always drops" for events, this is just annoying.

The problem is a lot of people are doing the event wrong. I saw a player the other day just running thru a dungeon, attacking things just to get them away from him but then other people were killing the mobs he ran from. The issue with that is I almost guarantee that dude missed his tickets/box that day because the tickets and box drops from ANYTHING in the zone. Also since day one we have been spamming in zone that you shouldn't group until after you get tickets to guarantee you get them because someone in your group can kill something random you didn't know about and that dead mob will have your drops.
This event isn't that hard, I am in Murkmire for all of 2 minutes maybe and then I got some drops and I am done.

you are right about people doing wrong event so you can pretty much disregard the people saying they are not getting tickets after hours. They screwed up.
the real complaints are the stupidly low rate on extra boxes which makes it next to impossible to get all the rewards. you need 80 tickets to get all the rewards. Emote, pet and berry. The average person that is only going to get a one box a day and if, a big if they are lucky they will get 4 to 7 of the parts. So lets so you get 7. That means you still need 45 tickets and you can only get a max of 39.
so to get everything you pretty much have to give up part of your life to farm and the vast majority of the player base wont and will be bitter at Zos horrible decisions. Eventually, like many have already done in the past, people will leave because they are sick of how Zos shows time and time again how much they hate and disrespect the people that are actually responsible for them having a job.

Yep, FAIL. Killed the WB (one of only two in this small zone) several times and got zero loot. And ZoS, please don’t tell us to just go somewhere else. Any and all of the events/entities you said would drop loot should, for everyone. Poorly designed as it was poorly planned and communicated. The zone is too small for an event like this. Where’s the next big event, Stros M’Kai? Remove the cap on loot!
Perhaps things will settle down after the first day but so far this is just a waste of time ...

Oh Arun, Arun, Arun ...
Looks like you didn’t read the Event details fully to know there are other ways to get the strong boxes and ticket rewards ...
Always. There is always one fan boy that sticks up for ZOS. Always one!
I wanted a drop from a world boss. I don't want to run around competing with other players for a chance to get a hit on a single enemy. I read it perfectly fine, thank you.
Always one fan boy. Please move along.
As an Systems, Server and Network Engineer, I can genuinely tell you this. You are the worst kind of person for feedback. I want to know what needs tweaking and fixing.
Nope.
You’re trying to apply your experience at one world boss as a failure of the Event itself.
Be sure to brush up on your slippery slope fallacies before making another post.
Did it ever occur to you that I'm doing a quest and would like a reward.
Slippery slope, lol.
Have at me, I won't be responding to you again.

Just out of curiosity, how much time are you spending educating people in order to address the inconvenient manner that this event works?
1. No grouping
2. Make sure you loot every dead mob that you have tagged
Don't forget that if you encounter the bug where the mob is out of range and cannot be looted, you have to drag something over to it and kill it so that you can use area loot. That "unreachable" mob might hold your shinys for the whole day.

I do what I can but some people just aren't going to read or listen no matter how many people tell them. I had that issue already of the unreachable mob, I just got another enemy close enough to the unreachable one and killed them. I was able to get loot, it wasn't tickets or a box but it worked. If you've played the game long enough you have most likely problem solved a lot of issues yourself.
When this event is over you will still have players saying: "I farmed delves bosses and WB bosses and didn't get tickets each day, what a bad event ZOS" despite EVERYTHING said in zone, on the forums, on reddit, in twitch, in guild chats and on ESO website. At the end of the day you can only do so much.
