I did not try to use the boss for my tickets. Instead I went and killed mobs in the delve quest and received both my tickets and guaranteed strongbox. After that I completed the boss quest so I could turn it in for double rewards boxes.
Events just need to stop.

Oh Arun, Arun, Arun ...
Looks like you didn’t read the Event details fully to know there are other ways to get the strong boxes and ticket rewards ...
Always. There is always one fan boy that sticks up for ZOS. Always one!
or you could simply adjust how the world bosses behave here. If I go tank a dragon for a pile of people I always get credit. The goal should be to make events like this more community oriented. Not me trying to find some corner of the map to solo in.
Yeah, this limit on drop for events is seriously criple healers and tanks, they simply never get any drop, it is exclusively for dps only. Previous event with molag bal or ic bosses hunting, this with world bosses - dont even go near to them with a tank or healer, only dps if you want any chance for drop... Very bad game design on ZOS part...
Tanks and Healers are only needed for Dungeon content. Expecting overland content to cater to healing and tanking isn't reasonable. Changing your gear for an event also isn't that difficult. It isn't like you need to be a top tier DPS to kill a hackwing in the middle of nowhere.
The zone is too small to host an event. Personally, I am skipping this one. Nothing really appeals to me as far as the stake or the pet, I have all the other indriks, and the spectral doesn’t really appeal to me for the headache involved. What I have noticed from events past is this, it brings the absolute worst out in players. No thank you.

No, I'm sorry, but that is rubbish.
People get used to their role via doing overland content on it, not just dungeons.
They shouldn't have to keep changing, just to get loot.
Not to mention you can be DPS and do pretty decent DPS, in this event and still not get anything from a boss, due to sheer numbers.

No, but it is also not the way it should work. In the past, over the course of many days, we were able to log into the game and kill one (1) trash mob and get a whole pet as a reward. We don't have to do it more than once, and that can be the only time we even log into the game. BUT... during an event, they can't give us guaranteed daily Event Tickets and the random junk box for killing that same mob. [insert head scratching gif here]
Instead, they have a 100% drop rate for a couple boss mobs, and some unspecified "chance" for everything else, and make things more complicated than it really needs to be. Of course people are going to gravitate to the 100% drop rate. Everyone already knows that this game is an RNG-fest full of low drop rates. That is part of all new player training.
There is no 100% drop rate. The CMs confirmed it was a “chance” at tickets and the strongbox even from bosses. People converge on world bosses because they are conditioned to do so from past events and because the chance is higher. But it’s still a chance — and I don’t mean a chance to get any loot. If you do earn loot from a world boss, it’s still a chance at the tickets & strongbox.
The first kill of the day for anything is suppose to guarantee tickets and one strong box. After that you have a very slight chance to get a strong box. What I suspect the cause is for many players not seeing either is the same as hits the dolems during other events. ...But... how are we supposed to get more strongboxes with Voriplasm Pet / Grave stake memento ? One per day on an event that lasts 13 days, with one day "lost" (because of game re-download) - so 12 days... and 14 fragments to get... With RNG you will get some duplicates so event tickets may be not enough.
Any way to get more than one per day ?
It's worse than that, I just collected my box and there was no fragment of either momento/pet within it!
All I got was 5 Ta and one piece of blue gear. 4 Tribal boxes from turnin, one piece of blue gear from each
A "golden" box should always have at least one piece of event loot in it.

No, because there's no reason to buy event tickets. They're easy & straightforward to get during the event.
"They're trying to force us to the Crown store!" is /tinfoilhat territory.
you got lucky and got a fragment in a first box. however - they are 1. NOT guaranteed to drop from each and every gold box. 2. we don't know if duplicates are possible and if they are, whether they just disapear into ether, or are made tradable so you may buy a fragment to spend your earned tickets only to have that fragment drop for you the next day. tickets will HAVE to be spent, as we can only hold 12 at any given time.
this means... there is a good, VERY good chance that in order to get all the rewards? some tickets may need to be purchased from crown store.
math - for your reading pleasure. total amount of possible tickets from the event = 39. lets assume that you start with 12 tickets already in your currency inventory and have all the feathers saved up (or willing to wait for them). that means that after you buy a berry - you have 2 tickets left over - which means you have a total of 41 tickets to spend on event fragments.
each item has 7 fragments, and each fragment costs 5 tickets. that is a total of 70 tickets to get both items with tickets alone. this means that your gold box drop rates have to be 1. at LEAST 50% (in my case today, they were actualy 25% as out of 4 gold boxes I opened across 3 accounts with one EU - I only get a fragment from one of those boxes) 2. never, EVER be duplicate and that includes any fragments you may have bought to clear space for more tickets.
that is a LOT of ifs.
what if you just go kill trash? on 2 of my accounts I got my event tickets within 5 mins, on my 3rd account it took about 12-15 mins. I collected 9 tickets overall in less than an hour (I cant say half because loading screens )
I think you misunderstood. getting tickets is easy. getting ENOUGH tickets/fragments is a different story.
i had no problem getting my tickets and first box of the day. what i DID have an issue with was getting fragments INSIDE those boxes. the pet and memento? THOSE are the rewards I'm talking about. please. reread my post again and if something is still confusing - let me know and i'll try to rewrite it to make it clearer.
Sorry meant to quote the post above yours, the guy so desperate to get their tickets off a world boss (which seems that person doesn't have the DPS)
gotcha and to be fair, given just how many people are gathered killing world bosses.... most people won't have the dps which is why i personaly didn't even bother going to boss for tickets myself. unfortunately, other issues with the event - still remain
The pretty sure OP is talking about the cap on how many players get loot. iirc it is 12 players. So if 30 players are waiting for the boss to spawn then less than half will actually get loot.
I started off thinking along the lines that ZoS was being incredibly idiotic for making it so normal mobs could drop event tickets. It was just a matter of time before the inevitable complaints about missing tickets came flooding in. But since I remembered about this situation where only the 12 highest damage dealers receive any loot, I suppose it all makes sense. It's to prevent low level/low damage players from never being able to get on the loot table to acquire their event items. Especially in zones like Murkmire where there are only 2 world bosses with high volumes of players all competing for damage numbers.
I don't really understand why they would require only the highest 12 damage dealers to be eligible for any loot, if anyone could shed some light on this so I can better understand. But that seems to be the root of the problem for these people who experience a hard time getting their loot. Personally I've not had any issues yet, even on my low level characters I've been dragging through the area. Perhaps ZoS should consider removing the 12 highest damage rule for events like these and just make it so world bosses drop the items. Then you kill two problems in one go, you don't have uniformed people farming world bosses for hours getting increasingly high rate and upset about not having their loot and secondly you prevent all those lost ticket issues from people who were in a group before getting their tickets and not looting some centipede that one of your group members killed half a mile away which just so happened to contain your event tickets for that day.
It really seems like a simple solution, unless of course someone can explain to me what purpose the 12 person rule is meant to have. Does it have a valid reason for even being a thing in the first place? I'm sure it must have, I honestly don't know. I'm open to being enlightened.
@Siohwenoeht Oh right, of course. Thanks. They should still consider removing the limit just for the events. More so with with Murkmire with it only having 2 bosses. It would solve more problems than it creates. On one hand, you make the botters life a bit easier for a few weeks, but the pay off is you stop lost tickets and remove the endless frustration that some players seem to be having with no loot from world bosses.
