Oh Zeni, Zeni, Zeni, we can't loot Murkmire bosses because...

I strongly dislike the idea of ticket drops being governed by RNG. It doesn't make sense to me for these reasons:
    1. The number of tickets you can get in a day is already capped.
    2. The number of tickets you can hold on your account is already capped.
    3. All the trinkets you can buy with tickets are bound.
    4. There are other rewards to encourage grinding throughout the festival if the objective is to attract players to and keep players in the zone.
    5. The room for error (such as accidentally not looting the tickets; or being unable to loot the tickets when they drop because of a game error, disconnect, or having a full ticket count) already causes headaches. If something goes wrong, you don't get another chance that day, and the tickets are lost.
    6. It's not fun. I realize this is subjective, but I think if you look at the rest of this thread, you will see that many players agree with me. It's a common complaint in all of my guilds, as well. Nobody wants to stand around for 10 minutes waiting for a boss to spawn only to not get anything. Nobody wants to hunt down the increasingly endangered zone mobs for an hour without getting any reward.
Why add an RNG element to an already regulated commodity? I don't want to think that it's just to sell more tickets from the Crown Store to people frustrated by bad luck and zone overcrowding.

Is there a more benign reason the festivals are moving in this direction? What does ticket RNG really add to the festival experience? What does it accomplish that can't be accomplished by another less frustrating mechanism?

Got the tickets and a strongbox from a random mob lol.
...But... how are we supposed to get more strongboxes with Voriplasm Pet / Grave stake memento ? One per day on an event that lasts 13 days, with one day "lost" (because of game re-download) - so 12 days... and 14 fragments to get... With RNG you will get some duplicates so event tickets may be not enough.

Any way to get more than one per day ?

It's worse than that, I just collected my box and there was no fragment of either momento/pet within it!

I have yet to get a single fragment after day 1.

deal more damage. only the top 12 Damagers get any loot from bosses, and they have to do at least 3% of the total damage.

I literally managed to do this on a tank (Troll King, Alessian, Orgnum), and I haven't missed a single day of tickets yet.
You just have to know what you're doing and be willing to wait now and again.

If there are 30-40 people waiting, and only 12 get loot, obviously the answer is not simply "do more damage." Someone is always going to miss out-- or in this case, lots of someones.

I really wish they'd remove the 12 person loots limit, it rarely impacts me but it does limit a lot of folks. It would also be nice to do some of these fights with my less tuned characters that are sub optimal...but then no loot.

Agreed. I did a few bosses on my dps char and got loot each time, but with so many people camping bosses most of them aren't getting anything, it's not fair.

You know, I thought it was pretty bad that not everyone got loot drops on these Murkmire Bosses, but even worse: my first kill of the day (I’ve avoided Murkmire for several days out of disgust) and I get loot dropped but it will not allow me to pick it up. I see the gold aura, I got some experience automatically but whatever I try to do I can’t pick it up.

I’ve seen this a few times recently. Bad enough with trash mobs, much much worse with Bosses during an already failure of an event. Assuming my tickets are laying on the ground as worthless as this event.

Hey everyone, just a quick reminder that all monsters in the zone have a chance to drop Event Tickets. If the world bosses are too crowded, you might want to try a delve or another area of the map when killing creatures.

OK: pls post video how you drop strongbox from other monsters, pls i wanna see how much time it takes! Coz i with my friend was taking 5-8 monsters into aoe and .. boom WAX - nothing else

That's not worth making a video. Tickets drop usually for me from the first bigger creature out in the wild. Target Miregrunts, Trolls, Behemoths or whatever has more health the chances are much higher.

The ticket cap is ridiculous... sometimes I want to save my tickets if there is nothing in one event, so I can get them from another. This event is a prime example of that....

You need 70 tickets to get the two collectibles, 80 if you want the berries... which is impossible. And since the fragments are not guaranteed (and don't drop anywhere near often enough) - it means missing out on 1, or even both, of the collectibles...

There's absolutely no valid point for a ticket cap - other than if your aim is to force people to buy the over priced tickets from the crown store. That doesn't encourage players to play - it does the opposite.

I figure the drop rate is right around 25-30%. If you clean out two flocks of hackwings (6 birds) the strong box will probably drop.

This is wrong. It was already stated in the article that bosses have a higher chance of dropping the event items, other mobs have a chance but it's lower. The only reason trash mobs would have a higher chance would be because you're not having to worry about the loot cap that bosses have.
    DaveMoeDee wrote: »
The reward is 2x daily reward when you turn in the quest. It has nothing to do with WB drops. So turn in your daily quest and get the reward you would like.
What are you talking about? The event 100% has something to do with WB drops, because it's been stated that WBs have a higher chance to drop event items. Just because WBs are part of a daily quest to get the boxes from the quests doesn't mean they don't have anything to do with the event.

You just have to know what you're doing and be willing to wait now and again.
Right, so healers and other tanks should just "do more damage" when there might be twenty or thirty other people there who can easily out-damage them because they're DPS and only 12 people get loot. This isn't advice, it isn't about 'knowing what you're doing' and being willing to wait 'now and again'. You can know what you're doing and spend an hour waiting and still not get any loot because of mechanics that have nothing to do with knowing your role or being able to perform it well or knowing what you're doing.

If you're able to do that much damage on a tank, great, but just because that's your experience doesn't really mean anything for the slew of tanks and healers who can't do that much, nor for the DPS who can't get into the top 12 and qualify for loot because they simply aren't able to do more damage than others who are there.

    Character List [RP and PvE]:

Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
