Why nerf Iceheart?

Just remove the damage... 500 dps is useless anyway.... then there is more space in the power budget to keep the defensive side useful... because thats what this is... a DEFENSIVE set, so why bother with useless sub par damage as well?

It was dealing too much dmg, according to devs. Lmao

@LeHarrt91 if you were running iceheart for the damage you're doing it wrong.
    Grothdarr is just better.
They could remove the damage entirely from Iceheart and it would still be a great set.
The shield size reduction I'm fine with.
    The cool down destroys it.

100% nailed it. If a defensive set isn't reliable then it's useless.

I get that its a defensive set and i dont use it in pve, but understand why it was used. But it is the only Frost Damage monster set.

Because the BRP dual wield didn't replace another base game defensive set after the defensive set was nerfed into the ground just to make BRP DW look good.

Keep the shield size and cooldown the same as before.
Just remove the damage from the set.

You know a nerf is bad when it comes out of left field. Also the rubbish thought process doesn't help justify the unnecessary nerf.

    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

Was Ice heart even that strong? I was using it for flavor on my Ice Warden build. It didn't seem that impressive.

It had a really useful, specific niche. It was a fantastic tool for learning new content until you got used to it and could optimise with an out and out damage option. It wasn't breaking leaderboards, didn't seem to be causing noise with PvP players but it was helping newer players on people setting foot into tougher dungeons or trials. It did, however, commit the cardinal sin of making the new shiny thing look not shiny.

This is one of the worst set nerfs ZoS has made, and incredibly transparent. You want to sell DLC, we get it. Sell it by making your new sets good. Not by nerfing old sets with a niche purpose that no one complained about to make a new subpar set look like an decent alternative (spoiler alert, it's not).

TBH, after natch potes I lost any interest in playing for the rest of the week.

It is beyond a set that I haven't used quite in a while, is just that the message "buy new content so you can do what you used to do anyway before the patch" is so... gross, it makes me stay away from login in.

I could live with the Ice heart nerf but it's so arbitrary that they lose a lot of credibility. The fact that it is to try to make a very bad set (tied to a new DLC) look good makes me completely lose respect for them.

I'm gonna have to make a heck of a lot of space in my inventory because come renewal day, I don't know if I want to encourage a team that has very very bad taste when it comes to improving their game.

    Holy WHAT?!

So much Dreugh Wax down the drain golding this set across three characters.

Just when I was beginning to have some faith in the design team... they flush it all down the drain.

This reeks of a cynical cash-grab for the upcoming DLC disguised with the fig-leaf of earlier comparisons between Iceheart and the new DLC hat.

As someone early in the thread said: NEVER, EVER, EVER compare two sets!

As a solo player, this is kind of disappointing.

I am honestly not that great at this game, but Iceheart lets me do things like solo DLC dungeons on normal, so I can experience the content the developers make and just have a good time.
That is going to be a whole lot more difficult now. It really is quite discouraging.

Iceheart isn't like other sets that have been nerfed in the past; it doesn't break PVP, it doesn't trivialize endgame content, it is just a solid set for the solo player.

I almost always disagree with nerfs, as they take something that feels powerful and fun and just make it less so. The fact that this nerf comes so soon after the discussion about solo players missing out on stories in dungeon content adds a little extra sting, as this set allowed us to experience that content.

Maybe I am over-exaggerating, but I feel that nerfing this set is a nerf against solo players and ESO has always been special BECAUSE you can really be a solo player. I feel like this is a step in taking away something that makes ESO what it is.

Hey @ZOS_GinaBruno , I hate throwing out the ZOS tag, but could you pass these thoughts on to the combat balancing folk? I know I am just a drop in the ocean here, but this is something that I would hope they could see, even if it doesn'tt end up changing anything.
