It had a really useful, specific niche. It was a fantastic tool for learning new content until you got used to it and could optimise with an out and out damage option. It wasn't breaking leaderboards, didn't seem to be causing noise with PvP players but it was helping newer players on people setting foot into tougher dungeons or trials. It did, however, commit the cardinal sin of making the new shiny thing look not shiny.

It is good for solo content. Probably one of the best sets to run maelstrom arena with as a magicka class. Beyond that, it is a poor option for any organized pve or pvp. There is no justification for these nerfs beyond greed; the desire to sell this new dlc monster set.

This set does not over perform in any situation where it would negatively effect other players or give you an overpowering advantage.

It is gross, in the true definition of the word, and everybody sees it.

I'll miss my crit from Iceheart, but Mighty Chudan seems like only viable replacement now (at least on magDK, magsorc and magnecro).

Oh I should not have written this. They'll nerf Mighty Chudan "This set now provides Minor Resistances instead of Major to ensure it is in line with other useless wannabe defensive sets such as Iceheart or Mother Ciannait."

Mighty Chudan nerfed to bring into line with Regular Chudan, both then nerfed to meet the standard of Puny Chudan.

They should change ice heart to be a dps set by increasing its dps and removing shield and buffing the new set more if they want people to get the new set imo.

At least there's a dev comment explaining the change. Normally there's just a few random changes with no insight. I actually think it's a little worse getting a look at their thought process, sadly.

I can’t even use the new stupid set, only on my Magplar. Now I can even use Ice Heart, it will be so trash. Well done, 2 sets I won’t be using.

Just buff your new set to make it comparable.
Why not think of this when designing the set I. The first place? Lol

Just go back to using Zann, Grothdar or Skoria.

Nerfs like this are the reason why I stopped bothering to upgrade to the newest meta armor a long time ago. Sorry ZOS... am tired of running the rat race. I just want to enjoy the game now and not grind, grind, grind.

So... Are solo players in instances meant for groups hurting server performance?

I'm really having difficulty making sense of this change, the lever change in Direfrost, the changes to Werewolf and pet-sorc from last summer... Perhaps there is no need for tinfoil and this change is just another DLC money grab. But, it seems there has been a systematic nerfing of builds that are used to run tougher solo content. Specifically, builds with good survivability and easy access to good, but not great DPS. This set in particular is not really used outside of solo content and PUG-proofing your build. The lower DPS from Iceheart is noticeable enough, that I swap it out if a PUG appears to have a real tank or a solid healer. The nerf is so un-necessary, it cannot merely be somebody blindly smashing things into a spreadsheet. I hope, anyway...
