I wanted to let everyone know that Eric Wrobel is no longer with the company. We appreciate his efforts over the years on ESO and wish him well in his future endeavors.

Going forward, we will be restructuring the team to encapsulate both PVE and PVP teams, with Brian Wheeler taking over as Lead Combat Designer. Brian has years of experience in MMOs and combat – on both Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online, he was heavily involved in class balance in both PVE and PVP. I know the team is in good hands and look forward to seeing what the future brings for that team.

PS - Bashing or trolling will NOT be tolerated at all in this thread. You have been warned…

With this recent change, are the upcoming racial passives going to be reviewed in depth?

What's most concerning is some of the changes made that remove the effectiveness of some of the most icon TES racial builds:

Removing bonus damage to fire removes the heart from the Dunmer. For ESO specifically, this combined with the lower of max stat has effectively hamstrung Dunmer Firemages and Dumner MagDKs, leaving Altmer as the much more effective choice.

Removing bonus to sneak and damage from stealth from the Bosmer remove one of their most iconic abilities as stealthy little forest elves. And to make it worse for them these are replaced with a bonus to speed after a dodge roll which is redundant as most use a bow anyways which already has that ability. Edit: And which was replaced with bonuses to detection, which is only useful to PvP and worthless in all other aspects of the game; most would argue its worthless in PvP as well. Please at the very least switch this back to straight up stealth.

These are just the two most obvious hits to classic TES identity to races, but they're the most important as these two races appear to be left behind in the dust compared to how the other races are weathering the changes.

Good luck Wrobel always felt he wasn't treated fairly by the community. Hope him the best. Brian Wheeler is a a star hope they unleash him to make Cyrodiil great again.

Yes. I wish Wrobel well. Hopefully this is what he wanted. He had a tough and often thankless job. I bet he has a skin of plate steel by now. It will serve him well. I know from personal experience how mean the game playing mob can be. I think I might have even grabbed a pitchfork myself once or twice.

I think the hurricane should be renamed Wrobel's Gift or something like that.

I'm just gonna come out and say this:

I played both of those games and I loathed the combat in them as I found them too stiff. So, having list those games does not make this feel like it's in "good hands" in my point of view. But I'll just keep silent and watch how things play out under his leadership in combat design.
