Its the end of an era. As much as I might have disagreed with some of the changes over the years, he did help Stamina Sorcerer start the path of getting a unique identity in game. I will run around cyrodiil spamming my sorc hurricane as a tribute!

I always enjoyed watching Eric on the ESO live shows, he had a charming sense of humor. I always felt bad for the amount of hate he seemed to get from the community and I hope this was not the reason for leaving. I wish him the best of luck, I'm sure he has great things coming his way. Congratulations also to Brian for the promotion, may you lead ESO into a yet brighter future!

Seriously Looking forward to Brian as lead! DAoC was one of my favorite games PvP wise and one of the reasons why I picked up ESO Was because I hear Firor and Brian were working on it in some capacity. This is exciting news!

Well this is unexpected. I don't remember if Wrobel was actually part of ESO from the start, but it sure feels like it.

I do wonder if this mention of restructuring to include both PVP and PVE teams means that we might start seeing skills balanced differently for PVE than for PVP...

Wrobel was bashed a lot for many things he was responsible for, and also for many things he was not. But let's remember all the fun memes the community created as a result, and most importantly let's not forget that his work hugely contributed to shaping the game into what it is today. So thank you Wrobel for all these things, and good luck in the future!

I hope this leads to a combat overhaul. #1 complaint about the game from people who dropped it is the combat. #2 is the crafting bag but that's a whole other thing.

I like the combat but it could use a bit more weight. Animation quality could improve as well. I think people would be more accepting of the weaving if everything else was tightened up a bit.

I hope with the restructure Brian Wheeler can bring some of his experience working on PVP over into the combat team to make things more responsive over all sections of ESO.

I'd bet that they knew about this for a while. It's certainly not that Eric Wrobel went to the forums today, saw the post, and decided to quit.

I'm just gonna come out and say this:

I played both of those games and I loathed the combat in them as I found them too stiff. So, having list those games does not make this feel like it's in "good hands" in my point of view. But I'll just keep silent and watch how things play out under his leadership in combat design.

Those games are both older than 10 years - all games of that period felt/feel stiff compared to eso.

Balance for both and combat depth for daoc was way ahead of what eso currently offers though - which is the important part.
