If they just made the champion system unique and not affecting combat, then we wouldnt have to nerf racials in the first place. or any of the nerfs in the last 2 years.

I'd just like their way to fix things is to buff the weaker racial passives and not to destroy the best one we have right now.

Here's a thing, though... everything affects combat. There's really nothing else in the game. Oh, there's crafting, I suppose... But beyond that, there's nothing but combat.

For example, Altmer are known for being especially adept at magic, so logically would have better magicka related abilities... and that would affect combat. Nords are known for being very resistant to cold... which affects combat. Physical attributes will always affect combat, because combat is decided by physical means (this includes physical attributes that affect magickal potential).

And that's how it should be, if you ask me. The trick is to make the benefit be sufficient for each race, that it doesn't overshadow the benefit of other races. That is, each race should be good at something.

Pretty sure this is another veiled way of saying, "Nerfs incoming." Bleh.

If any of my characters receive a nerf I will hang it up for this game and not look back.
I will find another game to sink my teeth into. I refuse to allow anyone or any company to manipulate my builds in such a way as to force me to pay to get previous build results due to "throw it at the wall and lets see what sticks."
This almost seems calculated considering Fallout 76.

If all of the races have the same passives, then racial will be meaningless and 1 more step to vanilla.

I will say "No Thanks" and "Bye Bye"

    This is suspicious.

I used to be optimistic, but from patch to patch ZOS proved they just don't want to or can't do things rights. They overnerf one thing and overbuff another at the same time, they break things (like breaking stuck in combat or shadow image again) and don't fix it for months! Nah... Based on my experience it will be another big disappointment, probably SUSTAIN NERF 2.0

"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

I'm on the fence at this point tbh. I just hope that they don't cause a big cluster f**k with the changes. I'm never going to be a min/max player so it probably won't affect me too much.

I actually wish that they would completely get rid of the passives or completely redo the passives to give each race one passive that helps with tanking, one passive that helps with healing, one that helps with DPS. No more of giving redugards three stam dps passives.

Let someone who wants to play a Nord Healer, play the way they want. If you want to be a Bosmer Sorc Healer, you should have a racial passive that helps you. It doesn't have to be OP but it would be nice if everyone had something to help.

However this update is not about "racial balance". It is about the fact that Lizards and Redguards have been meta so for long that I assume racial change token sales are down. You may see slight nerfs to each of these races (especially redguards) but I would expect to see buffs to another race in order to get the meta humpers to purchase those tokens.

If the changes are about money, which I am immediately suspicious, then I will likely switch to Black Desert or just go back to playimg an offline game where yourr not punished later for following earlier Dev game setups.

I think thays what honestly gets me the most. Its like we are punished for supporting for playing a game a developer designed. Everything you worked for goes to Nerf.

I know, we dont know what they are going to do yet. But, can you honestly say youre characters will not be adversely affected?
I suspect a global nerf to everyones builds system wide in which I will vanish. I put a lot money into this game. Not if they do what I think they are going to do.

I’m optimistic that this could lead to some wonderful variations & interesting builds. Also that they still make each race unique and worth the choice, rather than just choosing for aesthetic.

But my pessimism reminds me of Zos’s track record when it comes to balancing & change

So they cancel each other out

Racial passives which impact combat are only ok when those options are all varied for each race. allowing any playstyle with the race of your choice with minimal disadvantage if any.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Rip dunmers, rip magdk dps. Trying to force dunmers into a hybrid role when hybrids are completely trash in this game. Thanks for giving me less and less reason to play though.

I just don't understand why they would increase the gap for mag dd even more. Altmer is quite a bit better than Dunmer (3% magicka for 600 health, really? ) now for all classes, I really don't like that change at all.

No. all attributes based on race are in fact racist

the idea that a person is better suited for any task over another person, based upon race is in fact racist. all these role playing games perpetuate this belief and indoctrinate all the players into the racist agenda.

i've been playing rpg's for over 35 years and they are all the same in this regard. it doesn't take a genius to see it though.

what really makes a person good at a task isnt race but access and opportunity. If you want a direct basic understanding of this then please watch the tv show Adam Ruins Everything. A recent episode, Adam ruins a sitcom, does a down and dirty examination of this fact and uses lots of examples from relevant recent hx of the usa, including basketball and mathematics just to name a couple.

What i really wish is that ZOS/Bethesda/Whomsoever made this game playable without racist bias but allowed players to develop the passives of their toons based upon the choices they make in the game. This would keep the game legit and non-racist by accentuating the reality of access and opportunity.

The way i see the proposed changes they made seems to be that rather than a percentage, many passives are now a flat number, ie instead of a X% bonus to health, you get a flat point health. I think that this kind of change mostly benefits new builds and puts a bit of a kibosh on the established builds.

OR --- OR --- you could get off your high horse and realize that this is a friggin fantasy game and not a direct representation of real life society.

Yours may be the dumbest post that I have ever read and that's saying a LOT. If you want to mimic real life society - go play Sims.

I'm fine with them for the most part but feel Nords, Imperials and Argonians need some love considering they're still pretty much stuck as Tanks only. I don't even want huge buffs for them, just something that opens up their race to more roles without being completely OP.

    Imperials
    Imperial Mettle:1k Stamina+Magic
Red Diamond: Restore 260 Health, Stamina and Magic upon using a Weapon Ability. 6 second CD. Block/Bash cost reduction by 5%.

    Nords
Rugged: 3960 Physical and Spell Resistance. 3% cost reduction on Class Skills.

    Argonians
Resourceful: 500 Magic+Stamina. Restore 3600 Health, Magic and Stamina upon using a potion
Argonian Resistance: 750 Health, 2310 Disease Resistance+Immunity to Disease Status effect
Life Mender: 4% Healing Done, 100 Weapon/Spell Damage, whichever is higher.
