No. You're grabbing IPs from the route to the launcher/patcher CDN network (which is Akamai). An EU server IP as per here/url] is 195.122.154.1. Trace to that and then see what the items along the path are.runkorkoeb17_ESO wrote: »If IIRC ESO's EU server does not use Akamai
False. EU use akamai too.

Mine didn't change noticeably at all. Same horrible route to Singapore resulting in the ~330ms I had before patch.Lo and behold, exactly as I expected, with Elseweyr released the ping rate has risen!!
Before today's patch my ping was 300-320.
Now it's 334-350!!!
How's everyone else AU side?
Nope. I didn't purchase Elsweyr. Seeing the latency rise has made me make the decision to not buy it.

The Oceanic region is famous for issues because the cables are getting damaged all the time and your providers are sub par.
Use a trace hop application and ping the server. See how the signal travels across the whole planet until it goes to the server.
That's not ZOS problem but your ISPs.

Ok, answer me this
My aussie net is on average 100 mb down and 49 up, fttp, same isp.
Zos, i can average anywhere between 400-700 ms
YET
Gw2 in right down to 180-220?
Servers are similar distance and in the same country. I uavent moved house.. So same here.
Only real difference is the game i choose? An to say, gw2 has ALOT more sea and oxc players than eso does so you can say its population.. If anyrhing that's working against arenanet.
So id say its a ZOS issue, not so much your isp

Did you ping ZOS server with a standard application or with the ingame meter?
Reason is ZOS has stated numerous times that the ingame latency counter value, is doubled because it calculates the round trip of the data. Not the one one way trip all other programs (and games like GW2) count. So you should half the ping you see in ESO before you complain about lag.
