Err most (if not all) of us commenting here play the game (or try to with this issue).... why else would be making these remarks?
You've been moaning about game you don't even play for years. You're no white knight, get over it and get a new hobby.
Out of interest, are any of you in Australia on the PTS?
If so, what is the latency on there? Is it the same?
I can't download the PTS cos it won't let me choose to install it on a different drive!
(Not enough space on the drive ESO is on)

This is my world since a maintenance outage late in January. Any built up area that has more than 5 players lag spikes from the 300+ connectivity that I typically have to 999+
Participating in events is terrible.
Here I'm simply trying to turn in two quests in Summerset to get anniversary boxes.
You can see other players teleport lagging around me and the 999+ latency. Engaging the NPC's to get them to respond takes minutes of pressing E to talk to them.
I'm simply trying to click through the menu's to get the reward. The lag is so great that even clicking through these is too hard for the game to respond in most cases and the same voice dialogue is heard over and over.
Eventually, on the second quest, the game kicks me without even providing an error message. It simply gives up, too hard.
@ZOS_GinaBruno < This is what your game looks to me from Australia during US peak time.
Outside of US peak times, there's less players on so I can normally complete these quests with less lag. Saying this though, the lag is there constantly, even on 300+ latency.
Can we please get acknowledgement of this issue and when it will be remedied? It never used to play like this.

I have almost completed the new trial on pts. Latency is no better. The trial runs like any other trial for me, very low frames and more laggy than other instances.
I use exit lag and on live can get under 300 ping (but not in pvp). Even though the ping appears ok, there is still alot of lag as has been stated over and over.
I dont see or expect any improvement of PTS over live.
edit:
Will say though that exit lag has been the most stable vpn I have used and I have tried most of them.

Feels odd to rely on the need of a VPN for us to have any have decent connection something i don't intend to do or afford lol. I am guessing the reason for a VPN been necessary is the Akamai redirecting nonsense?.

Thanks for the replies re the PTS ping rate.
I've been using Mudfish VPN for the last month or two and it brought my ping back down to average around the 250 mark. There are sometimes jumps to 300 here and there but nothing terrible.
I was against using a VPN at first as I thought why should I pay even more (I am a subscriber - that model works best for me rather than purchasing DLC) to make the game playable?
But mudfish is so cheap. I think I paid $2.99 for so many GBs of which I've only used 4% or something so far....

The fact that we have to pay for an external service to make the game some what playable is just plain wrong

Yes I 100% agree.
I am against it but want to play and the cost of mudfish is less than a beer

My wife, who's playing right beside me, do not share the same problem. It's almost always me. It started after the last huge patch. Ping too suddenly dips to 500 range. I can still play around 300-400 mark, but my normal before was around 250-275.
That's weird.... why would it happen to you but not your wife?
Must be different hardware or software (firewall??) settings to cause that?
