    And the Japanese Maples

    And no Japanese traditional clothing

Thats ONE aspect of japanese influence, so stop with your lies since there is japanese influence, is it enough then it is another debate. For me, high elves in japanese kimono will be so strange.

Jesus, I thought I was harsh on this forum.

Also, I cant believe I still get email notifications for this thread. Good to see people are...enjoying it? I think? Having a friendly debate, perhaps?
why would an imperial lie about how amazing high elves are though?

Cause hardly anyone in tamriel has seen the altmer homeland. so he capitalized on writing an extrazagant recollection for people to read. He is imperial it all comes down to what would make his book more popular and bring in the most gold.

Or maybe its because Zenimax retconned everything they wrote for the Altmer at the last minute so they could rush out a potentially lucrative dlc.

Or, no, maybe its 3 dimensional chess and the writers planned all this from the start. Ignore all the obvious datamines that disprove this. Elder Scrolls writing is always brilliant and never subject to the whims of the companies that own it.

No one is saying there aren't multiple interpretations of the lore, and we're not arguing that ESO did it "wrong".

We're arguing that they decided to go for the most boring, mundane, seen-before interpretation possible. Like they almost always do, unless they can ride on the coat-tails of past games.

    Double post

Hey now. No one's spent more time reading the old datamines then me. I was so pumped for those got dang varlines. And varna lenses. And the land scar from the maormer ship.

I even have named my Aldmeri Grotto Oyiinaam in honor of the magical weapon that sounds and makes maormers heads explode.

But they just didn't have the creative budget or time i guess. It will forever be lame that we got what we got

But I'd rather have it then no summerset at all. Plus even if it's not high fantasy banking on its coral tropical seashell pearls magic ingrained in the fabric of your society. Its w/e.

Now what I really really hope for is when your mod project is all said and done that it's available for the Xbox port. Cause I'm excited for that. It might be the best representation of summerset we ever get.

Well. We have Summerset now, but that don't mean we won't have Summerset on tesVI. Anvil and Kvatch appeared on DB dlc and in Oblivion. Maybe Bethesda will set future single player games on 4th era. You know, architecture evolves along the time.

The whole point of Summerset is that it’s impossibly ancient and well preserved. I don’t expect it to look radically different in future games. This is Summerset now. After all these years. This is the strange, advanced, thoroughly inhuman culture we’ve been waiting to see. This is the “ancient land shrouded in mystery”.

No more varlines. No more giant orrery in the sky. No more elemental slaves tending the land. Those were just “exaggerations”.

Now wait a minute we do see elemental atronachs tending the land in Summerset, particularly in the Psijic island

I like Summerset as is. My only dislike is the disparity with Auridon, but can't be helped. I love both zones.

How is Artaeum decent though? Sure the building looks nice, but you dont get to explore much of it and inside the halls its looks more like a crypt than a building made for powerful mages, hell id say Artaeum is one of the biggest letdowns so far.

But in general the entire isles have been a let down, Auridon looks very boring and for some reason nothing like the main isle at all, hell because of how bad i felt Auridon looked i actually love summerset more.

Yeah. The Island do not have alien spaceship vibe.

OMG this thread is amazing ;D

Sure, Necro on so many levels as it is only possible, but somehow it fits ^^

Just by curiosity - does anyone of you actually played in the TES: Arena? If not, there is good bundle on GOG, with Daggerfall and Morrowind and they work on PC without any emulator. You should try, check SummUrset and then return with feedback ;)
