I think the biggest issue is that Oblivion damage is bugged, in that it ignores Battle Spirit, which is not a "resistance" but a PvP mechanic. This is also why Sloads is such a nuisance. All Oblivion damage in PvP should be halved, just like every other kind of damage.

Beyond that, Shield Breaker is indeed a proc set, I don't know how anyone would define it otherwise. If you light/heavy attack someone with a damage shield, it procs Oblivion damage. It is the only proc set that escaped rebalancing a while back. It needs a few seconds of a cooldown and it would be fine. But 2 procs a second on light attack bow spam is quite extreme for any kind of free damage.

Finally, it's really not a Sorc counter so much as a light armor counter. Light armor relies on damage shields for defense. Medium relies on dodge. Heavy relies on mitigation and block, roughly speaking. I don't see the 5pc counters to dodge and block mechanics.

I can't imagine the amount of tears there would be if there were a 5pc set that caused 2150 Oblivion damage to blocking or dodging targets. And if we're being honest, Shield Breaker users are is 99% stamblades (always with a bow), gods forbid we had a 5pc bonus that mitigated Cloak. You wanna talk about tears.

Anyway, for me Shield Breaker is not per se a Shield Breaker problem, it's a stamblade problem. No one else really uses it. No other class is as toxic, abusive, or harassing as stamblades. Every single person who has harassed me in this game, and every enemy I have made, has been a stamblade. I would really like to have one PvP campaign where there is no invisibility mechanic. I think it would instantly become the #1 campaign and also solve the Shield Breaker problem in one go.

It is not bugged.

Unlike normal damage, which is used to defeat trial bosses, and thus has to be huge, and thus has to be halved so people dont instagib each other, oblivion damage is a PvP thing. It "ignores" battle spirit because it has been set to the desired PvP damage levels right from the start, so there is no need to halve it.

this one sums up why I use shieldbreaker, just cant stand Magsorcs. maybe its a L2p issue but I only really struggled 1V1 with Magsorcs. infused SB bow stacked with an oblivion enchantment really does do wonders. in all fairness the 5th bonus is useless against any other class, but it is a fair counter to shields IMO. if you don't want to have it used against you, don't use shields, its as easy as that.

Immediately right now. ZOS never go against NB . Mark these words. NB will be never be nerfed. NBs will always have 15K more dps. NBs wont have any hard counter in game. Mark target will be always NB skill.

A class that never be nerfed. Always 15K dps above all other class. When NBs complain about something it will be immediately taken care. Because streamer needs cheese right !!! hell yeah.

Only solution:-
All switch to NBs. Juicy 60K dps. With critical rating above 70% pretty much achievable for Nbs , Just use cloak and use heal twice. Juicy heals !!! Nb nerf is a joke. Its only a buff in disguise. Kick other classes in Vet trials except tank & healer. Complain in forums that sorc is overpowered. Magic Sorc is already abandoned ship. I dont know why some still hanging in it and wasting time in forums.

Buff shieldbreaker!!! I am sick and tired of scorcs with 0 skills 1shooting every1 and are themselves unkillable! Its is annoying af! Especially since sorcs had runprison buffed they are way tomeasy to play and do way to much damage. You have to run cheesy tanky builds now if you play stam classes or they will ruin your fun 247!

If a sorc is complaining about shield breaker, sloads, knightslayer in this patch when they have rune cage, overload, no need to back bar sets anymore, etc. I honestly have nothing say, but I do have a lot to lol about. These nerf threads are always the best.

SB was a problem back when nobody used cage or overload...

Addressing one broken mechanic with another is NOT how to balance a game. overload needs to go back to what it was, cage needs toning down a touch and SB needs a 1.5 second cooldown (and a big glowy effect so you can see who's using it).

Sorcerers overpowered in this game. They gave y’all stupid defense, mobility, shield stacking, cc, self heals and damage out. Other classes have one or two of those things. Y’all should be be playing tank, a dps, or healer. But zeni got y’all playing all three at once. There should be more sets like shield breaker to deal with y’all

Try running a Sorc solo and then report back how much fun it is to have constant Sload procs on you on top of all the other bandaids (hello poisons, snares, defiles, and other damage procs).

Well, one tends to use skills in a damage rotation and burst assault rather than just press the one button over and over but whatever floats your boat.
