BoL changes are AMAZING

Finally as a healer I can choose to not heal that idiot running around in the back of the room.

This change will promote teamwork and listening to calls of "Stand in front of the healer!". The fact that Templars had no choice in whom BoL targets promoted toxic playstyle where the worst players in the group could "steal" heals from the tank and other actually contributing players.

I can already see this exchange after the morrowind patch:

-
Featuring 2 players!

An ugly Argonian archer called NOT-UNDERSTANDING-BASICS (NUB)

&

A modest Dunmer master race Templar Yet Another Amazing Healer (YAAH)

NUB: "OMG WHY NO HEALS!?! NOOB HEALER!"
YAAH: "?"
NUB: "I SPAM MY BOW, WHY YOU NO HEAL ME"
YAAH: "?"
NUB: "I DIED CUZ YOU SO BAD"
YAAH: "You know BoL got nerfed and I can't you back there, huh? *loud whisper* Get rekt. "
*Healer does the troll face emote that will be added into the game specifically for this situation*
*NUB ragequits the group"

Ah, live after Morrowind will be so beautiful.

It's kind of just a poor man's Combat Prayer, no? That's my biggest issue with it.

Combat Prayer heals more, applies Protection and Damage Buffs, costs less and is AoE. The other Morph heals even more.

I don't get the point of the change of BoL.

Could someone tell me what the changes to BoL are? I couldn't find anything in the patch notes.

Found it, forgot to look for the name of the base skill rather than the morph!

BoL has not been a super reliable heal in chaotic situations because it often targets someone behind me, and I have to cast it again to get the person in front of me. If the person is behind me, I don't care if they die

The only problem I see with this is how the game determines "in front of me" given the fact that characters don't turn to match the camera view reliably. I had tons of trouble with this during the Festival flower crown achievement because my character was not facing just right. It was hard to line up properly unless I "ran around the block" and "lined up my approach correctly." Of course, with 180 degrees, that might not be an issue.

In what world does Combat Prayer "heal more?" Unless you mean heal more targets, although if you did it would be redundent with "is AoE" so I'm assuming you meant heals more health. But BoL heals for nearly twice as much health as Combat Prayer.

I see it as now the idiot healer will have to stay with the group instead of wandering ofd and getting killed.

    Amazing how so?

Templars have an entire skill tree dedicated to healing and they are now the worst healers in the game.

Think about it, an entire skill tree that other classes passives can outperform.

Its not even like our so so dps got a buff.

I like the thinking that our resto line should provide some DPS abilities or at least ways to debuff in a combat setting. This would strengthen the healing changes in that it offers additional ways to build.

I've only ever healed as nightblade, which is mostly blessing of protection for big heals, so I'm already used to looking at who I'm healing. It gives you more control and it's not that hard. I get the complaints about all of the templar nerfs, but I wouldn't consider this a nerf, really. It's a nerf to bad players and a buff to good ones.

I see this too on the PTS.

This BoL change is not that big of a deal. I'm more concern with the switch from major mending to minor and that shards and orbs has the same global cooldown.

To me it seems like ZOS's nerf to the templar is to make the new warden class more appealing as a healer.

It would be unscrupulous for them to do that. Let's hope that anything along those lines is not intentional.

if u want to heal only in front of you or in a certain area...there are skills for that.

BoL was helpful in situations where u see the health of someone in your group drop significantly.

I can see the problems with it in pvp and pve.

You have the right to think its awesome - i only see this:

"HEAL ME HEAL ME! OMGFSGFJKNL# I DIE!"

you dont care about the people behind you?

Those are your guardians ffs! you should care.
BoL has its flaws but it is a lifesaver - i was okay with it. the targeting wasnt perfect. but like i already said - u wanna heal the ppl in front of you: DO IT WITH ANOTHER SKILL! thats what they are there for. now BoL is only another combat prayer without buffs...

also if they really wanted to help the healers they would have found another way.
It is what it is: a change that will make sorc healer the better healer overall.

i hope they will change it again. It would be super easy.

Make HoD the heal that heals in front of u - leave BoL alone.

    Everyone happy. See?
