Shoutout to Reddington James @gibous for being the mastermind behind this build. Also congrats to him on getting grand overlord which he got literally only because of the double ap event and nothing else. Dual wield sorc feels unchanged since last patch to me, except occasionally when I don't feel like reapplying curse the second explosion might do decent damage. I don't notice the nerf to the spell damage from dual wield at all. I hope you enjoy!

Dude, I truly enjoy watching dw sorc gameplay. If I wasn't so committed to finishing out stamplar, and I didn't hate grinding so much I would level one. Nice job.

No.

Tooltip and actual damage numbers were tested on PTS and live. Even with 8% single target on destro, dual wield numbers are significantly higher than destro (dual wield also lets you have an extra set piece as well). It's why you see pretty much every good mag sorc running dual wield not destro.

Megaservers are 100% different in that regard. Literally nobody runs DW on EU.

Burning spellweave seems really bad on sorc tbh, low proc chance and you cant sit spamming light attacks when outnumbered

20% procchance on light/heavy and your spammable aswell as any other destro spell you choose to utilize.

In longer fights i´m seeing between 45% to 55% uptime of the buff compared to 60%+ in pve. Considering in pvp you inevitably have to play defensive at times this is still very high.

And since we run 1 to 4 people with our guild outnumbered is basically the default pvp situation. It outperforms every other set in a destro resto setting with two 5p bonuses.

I think both DW and Destro have their pros and cons. I have tried DW, it just not my style of play, but thats not to say it isn't good. Everyone has a different style, and some folks simply play better with DW because that's their style.

If your the type who can be patient and weather the storm of your opponent, then DW opens opportunities to nuke people thats otherwise not possible with Destro.(As shown in Leif video with his huge hitting Frags)

If you like to poke people at range and want more sustain DPS, then Destro Staff fits your style better.

Both have pros and cons.I don't think one is necessarily better then the other, I just think it comes down to preference and what your most comfortable playing.

I can only think of 4 players that run DW on mag sorc on NA and that includes me. Maybe 6 players if I count people I have seen play it over 3 patches ago.

Yeah it is really fun. Probably the most fun class/build for me right now.

I'm concerned no one has mentioned S+B MagSorc in this thread. I've only been playing it for about 3 weeks but I'm really enjoying the max magicka boost, allows me to run 51k in AS with a 12k hardened ward. But it's lack of mention has got me scratching my head that I'm missing something obvious.

I'm running 5necro and 5spinners with a flexible back bar weapon depending how I'm feeling. I would definitely try DW, but don't have the coin to sink into 2 spinners sharpened swords and don't really like any other sets I've seen (VD was alright, 2willpower and 3ancient was decent, both of them would be easy to find DW sharp, but Spinners is way better for me atm).

You can't blame them. The destro ult and the 8% single target damage are big reasons to use a staff now. Plus with everyone running MDK, force pulse goes through reflect. I'm just absolutely terrible with a staff outside of PVE.

Dual wield isn't always easy. There's no spammable pressure. You depend on basically one *empowered* skill to kill people with, and the attack is openly telegraphed (There goes curse and entropy. His hands are glowing too. Gee? I wonder what's next?!). If you don't ani-cancel the frag and catch the enemy during their offense, you have zero chance of landing it. It takes a lot of patience and finesse.

Personally I'm not a fan of pirate skeleton set, it's just a tad TOO effective with shields. It seems to me that it's something that they'll probably fix, but I can't argue with the results.

You gain in mag, bit lose on spelldmg that the extra sword gives - and penetration - and the 5% dmg from the DW passive. It does add up..

Now a minor change to one of my current setups (if I get the drop) would be lich s+b backbar (currently DW) .. just for a little more mag to make those shields from the backbar that little bit stronger.

THIS. I dual wield on both my Mag Sorcs. Destro on one bar, DW on the other. It rocks.

Yeah pirate skeleton is too strong. I also prefer slimecraw and don't really run pirate anymore unless I am fighting in fights a magicka sorc should not be fighting in.

51k magicka in Azuras? Do you have good sustain with that?

10k gold per kill that increases by 1k for every additional 100cp you have. So I pay cp 600s 16k.

Great vid! And thx for the shoutout @LeifErickson - it's been great having your feedback/insight on some of the variables we've been tweaking to push the build even further.

DW is not for everyone, which is part of what makes it so fun. One of the best things in ESO is being an absolute monster in a spec not many others are running.
