Well this is so simple to solve I'm shocked you needed to come to the forum to ask about it.

    Don't like how Vampirism looks?
    Don't be a Vampire.

    There.

    Simples.

And no need to waste development resources on it.

You can fix it yourself now.

It's not a passive but simply slotting the werewolf ultimate gives a whooping 15% more stamina recovery, for free basically

Except, of course, you give up your ultimate, unless you actually intend to wolf out.

It's not like werewolfs dont even have any disadvantages unless they transform, and even if they transform they become god damn OP.
It's not like werewolves have NO access to any of their skills and passives unless they use an ultimate.

That gives me an idea, make vampirism work the same way, make it so a vampire has to transform using an ultimate and can only use their skills and passives while transformed.

Problem solved, thank you very much ...

Ok. You can also take advantage of the Mage's, Fighter's, Thieve's, Dark Brotherhood, Undaunted, and Soul Magic skills without having your character's appearance changed or activating an ultimate.

Why don't we ask Zenimax to change those to act like either the Werewolf or Vampire skill lines, too?

Those other skill lines can either force an appearance change to your character or you should have to activate an ultimate to use them. And they should also come with weaknesses. Like maybe the Mage's guild shouldn't be able to use Heavy Armor.

I mean, because, you know the Guild and Soul Magic skill lines are so different. Then choosing a guild will be meaningful and not everyone will be running around with the same skill lines!

No, but I would like an option in the Character creation screens to show what your character will look like as a Vamp, so you don't suddenly get a shock many levels down the line, when you find out the features you chose really don't go well with the changes brought about by becoming a vamp,

What I really want is to be a vampire without my tattoos fading.

although the scarification can be interesting, too.

i'd like the ability to mask it, but i don't know that i would choose to.

gave my dark elf sorc vamp a c/s makeover, as a vampire, and i'm pretty happy with the way she turned out, so i may do the same on my other vampire characters.

I want to be a vampire who knows illusion magic.

Or who has a little enchanted earring I can wear to look mortal.

Did you know the only instance in the game where the player is allowed to be an Altmer and to have black hair (actually beard because the character is bald) at the same time is when you wear that little bauble Raz gives you in Skywatch? It's fantastic xD
Edited by Abeille on February 10, 2017 11:31PM
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

    confused24.gif

First, vampires don't exist, so you can't tell me they have to look a certain way.

Second, I want one of two things, either:

    1. The character's in the world to react appropriately to the sight of a blood-sucking monster, or;

    2. Zenimax to accept the fact that Vampire and Werewolf are just another skill line in this game and there's no reason to override my character's appearance as a result of it because they aren't willing to do what they would need to to make the different appearance mean something.

If my character is going to be ugly as a result of picking up the skill line then I want the game world to react appropriately to that.

If they can't make that happen, then I want my character to look normal so I can justify the lack of reactions from the NPCs.

Seriously, dude, it doesn't bother you that Vampire Hunter NPCs don't try to kill vampire player characters?

It doesn't bother you that shop owners completely ignore your appearance?

Quest givers are completely oblivious to your appearance when they dole out quests?

The way it is now doesn't make any sense.

"You're a vampire so you should be ugly. Nothing will change as a result of that, we just don't think you should enjoy looking at your character".

At least, if we could toggle the appearance change off we could say "they don't react to my character like it's a vampire because it doesn't look like one".
