I really can't understand why they'd take something that's been so universally fun away. :-( It's not like Alessia Bridge where nubs can just get farmed for hours, it's a completely elective place to engage the enemy. You can go up and meet them or you can just pass under the gate and ignore them. Was it because of the little wooden cage you can get stuck in? Just remove those supports or something, don't take away the whole fun. :(


Here is a picture of the Ash Milegate as it appears on PTS. No third-floor access, way less fun.

    It still has that one second floor, but all the third floor structure is gone, and that was the most fun part! So many different ways you could engage and retreat!!

    @ZOS_BrianWheeler Why did you do this ? If you are trying to eliminate battles away from keeps and resources , why not remove Dolmans and PvE quests instead ? I don't understand your direction with PvP anymore . If you are trying to make people fight only at keeps and eliminate small scale fight areas or just against elevated fight platforms in general . You're removing things people enjoy .

    Why not fix the wall heights so gap closers can't get up instead ? Somethings we asked for instead of spots that make fights interesting away from keeps . Are you going to remove scaffolding at resources too ? Please enlighten us that don't understand what is going on in Cyrodiil with these changes .

    The way the supports at the bottom could trap you was odd, as were the lips at the top. The scaffoldings were poorly designed overall. The 3 levels to the gates were tons of fun though. Can't believe they'd outright scrap a third of the gate.

    This would be equivalent to removing the top level of the two bridge towers.

    Overall for me: more complex terrain is always more exciting, barring buggy or intrusive bits. I support tower doors being removed because I foresee tower combat without them being more dynamic, but not this... Silly.

    I'm still pretty ambivalent about the tower changes. I kind of liked going in and breaking up attempted tower farms, but it was always a coin flip for how many of your people would make it inside on the first door attempt, which could on rare occasions lead to wipes. Then there's the annoying zone chat messages not to get on the flag or to call people down to Bloodmayne and clean out the mill tower or wherever. On the other hand, it was good to at least have a temporary safe fallback point , case the other faction sent 60 people to defend a keep against a group of 16, not that anyone would ever do that. Now they can just set up as many siege as they want and hit every floor of the tower, making it kind of pointless to even go in there to begin with.

    The thing is, people will still get farmed at certain resources, like Glade mine or Alessia farm. All it does is stop "the scourge of tower farming". Though, as a point of order, do you think we'll be allowed to gapclose into towers now that they don't have a door? I'm so wary of using half my abilities just because I don't know under what arcane circumstances they'll start to be considered an exploit.

    I would like to hear the reason for this, I don't care either way myself, maybe there was some form of exploit most people did not know any thing about, like the duelers that exploit their way into the checkerboard area to duel on the map, I was surprised at this since there was no rocks to run around LOL.

    there was an exploit where players could take the camp on the 3rd floor forever without cooldown, seen alot of these "get good" players exploit the crap out of it so ofcourse zenimax would just remove the roof, since when can they bugfix anything or just ban the exploiters

    was doors being taken of towers something we asked for I'm pretty sure we didn't ask for that. stairs was something we asked for now its being removed . they could of designed them better but who ever did it didn't have a clue. usual don't listen to community.

    You can't go to the third floor of the mile gates on PTS? That doesn't make very much sense, sure its a chokepoint that could be defended, but there was nothing there that would be considered unfair really.

    Multiple exit points with a large enough opening to not get forced into single file.

    This I can get behind 100%, not that it matters lol, but that seems to be a very lazy way of "fixing" a small annoyance in getting stuck in the stairs running past them.

    Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    Fair enough, the big bad tower farm groups have had their doors took away. There will be an awkward week as they try to cyro delves, before realising, nothing has really changed on the tower farming front.

    When I read the patch notes, scaffolding implied the unnecessary excessive structure of the stair supports themselves, capturing all the tipsy riders going through the gate. Not the stairs in their entirety. I am exceptionally disappointed at this change.

    Dear @ZOS_BrianWheeler and the Cyro team, could we get a response or some insight to this change? I can't imagine it is down to being a farm spot, because the gates now have less options to destroy said farm.

    Also, falling victim to farms is a voluntary process. I don't understand the complaints about tower farming and the like. No one is encouraging you to go in. Nothing is gained by the opposition by being in that tower, other than you voluntary partaking.

    I think the only reason they added it in the first place was because players were able to streak and use mounts to get on the top floor but I believe they've improved the invisble walls around the area since then. I don't know why they can't just make the staircases on each end go to the top and don't add any additional stairs in the middle, was fun fighting up there.

    Scaffolding is what is used as a platform to build a building. Scaffolding is NOT stairs. So unless the Pts is showing no stairs to get to the top floor, you guys are all overreacting. Are you sure the actual STAIRS are gone?
