My biggest issue with the current system is that it is an absolute hassle to search for specific items. Especially if they are rare. There are Mods that make it a bit easier of course, but far from convenient. At this point i think the only people who actually support this system are those who invested time in it and profit from it.
For the love of Akatosh!.This has been re-hashed soooooo many times! The answer is NO! Again! No!
The majority of people have spoken, time and time again, we want to keep the current system.
A central auction house will not happen. Period. Why?
    1. The system is in place, has been since launch, and It is what Zos wanted as a trade system.
    2. For the "new people" who keep bringing this up, here's a history lesson, early after launch, 2014, Zos announced, live, that they Will Not change the current system, ever. Case closed.
    3. To change would put 50-100K guild members out of their trader.
(Math for this statement...157 kiosk traders, at least half of these are at 500 members, thats 40k ppl. if the other half have only 250, thats still 20k+..total, 60k+, estimated, and thats just on NA/PC..
So, to the OP, please, let the horse rest in peace! Has been beaten enough. AH is not going to happen, thankfully..
    Huzzah!!!

1 & 2: ZOS also originally wanted a Veteran Rank system. See what happened to it recently? Yup, they changed it. Nothing's set in stone.
    3. They would still retain all the profit they've got under the old system AND have the same access as any other player in the new system. Frankly, i don't see the problem.

Actually incorrect about the Veteran Rank system. ZOS never wanted it. They only added it after feedback during beta as players were disappointed they couldn't go to the other factions and there was nothing to keep them playing after hitting level 50

Exactly!Zos wanted CP system from start but just needed time to finish it.

I remember early previews in games media where ZOS statet, they "will find a way for players to experience the other faction's zones/story". They did keep quiet about how this would actually look almost right up to the launch though.
Experiencing other alliances is what One Tamriel is about. Also something Zos has wanted since beginning. You mentioned Vet System, not same thing. Which btw, was not planned to stay. I played beta. Was there.
As to OP, No AH! Won't happen. It's with the dragon mopunt file.. Won't happen...

Scrap the original guild auction houses and make one simple central auction house everyone can use.
Traders are waste of time in searching items and only guild owner is making good gold out of taxes and listing fee and still owner's want per week fix fee for trading.

This system is a big failure and disaster for ESO economy and discouraging players to Trade.

no scrap the old system that the guilds owning and controlling the markets ( crying at the fact there market will dry up if a central AH is introduced) and move towards a better system thats fair for everyone!!

How is it not fair for everyone? Because everyone doesn't want to join a trade guild/ regular guild?

Sounds like a problem with the player, not the game. It's fair if you partake and give it a shot....

why should i have to join a guild to sell items??? why should i then have to pay ( granted not all ) the guild to sell items?? Then i lose the right to sell items if someone outbids the guild on the trader !! silly system protected by equally silly ppl !!

It doesn't need to be an auction house as such, but the trading system does need to be changed so as to open it up to everyone and not just the few trading guilds (often linked) that have the market completely cornered.

Time to leave it alone. It simply isn't going to happen.

The taxes go to the guild bank, not the guild owner. If there guild owner is taking the money from taxes, they are crooked and you should leave that guild.

Or, you could just note where the major trading hubs are- the ones that have five guild traders right next to each other- and simply zone between them... doesn't take all that long. Not sure how it works on console, but on PC I can 'favorite' specific wayshrines, and that's how I do my shopping when I'm in need of something very specific.

Also, YOU might not care about lore, but a vast majority of ESO players DO... many of them having come to ESO from previous Elder Scrolls games; this is an MMORPG after-all... and role-playing for many people is a BIG part of their game.

I like the price variation from kiosk to kiosk. If anything, they could merely improve the system they currently have by allowing individuals to list a certain amount of items in one kiosk at a time no matter which guild owns it. Maybe like every player could list 10 items at a time anywhere, but is limited to 10 items, and the items only show up where they are listed. They could be searched for under a second merchant option at the kiosk, and could charge a much higher listing fee as well, and also give the owning guild a cut of the profits.

a guild with 50+ members has guild store - that allows you to sell to other members of the guild. if you are in 5 large enough guilds you have 5 groups of people to sell to. if they are big guilds that's 2500 people. it does rather depend on whether you have stuff that people want to buy though.

I can say that there is one enormous advantage the guild store system has. Because of it, we are not being constantly spammed by gold-sellers, as they have found that it is not economical for them to attempt to sell in-game gold, like they do in many other Buy-to-Play, or Free-to-play games. We got rid of the majority of the gold-sellers within only about 2-3 months in this game, and I'm really glad of it. I've tried playing a few other games, but the fact that this one has made such things inefficient for the gold-sellers makes my game much more enjoyable.

    Keep the current system.
no scrap the old system that the guilds owning and controlling the markets ( crying at the fact there market will dry up if a central AH is introduced) and move towards a better system thats fair for everyone!!

Then i lose the right to sell items if someone outbids the guild on the trader !! silly system protected by equally silly ppl !!

you don't lose the ability to sell stuff if your guild loses the trader...

your guilds store still functions and you can still use /z chat.

    silly, really?

FIRSTLY no chat on consoles!! and i can still sell my stuff to everyone without a guild trader???... hmm ive been playing for about 6 weeks i hope to sh.t your new too!! so even with the pc only chat ive got to watch / spam wtb wts chats for a item instead of finding CENTRAL AH and going though everyones auctions and buying what i want!! just so you understand how a global AH works!!

i've been playing since pre-release on pc.

a guild with 50+ members has guild store - that allows you to sell to other members of the guild. if you are in 5 large enough guilds you have 5 groups of people to sell to. if they are big guilds that's 2500 people. it does rather depend on whether you have stuff that people want to buy though.

/z chat is coming to consoles next week...

i know exactly how global ah works having seen them in other games - and that is the reason i don't want to see it in this game.

    anything else?

so you have a guild with a guild store.. explains everything like the other haters of the global AH you just dont want to lose your market and your ability to make money .. THAT IS THE ONLY REASON !! spin me all the crap you want your only defence is you may lose your ability to sell and corner the market !! because a global AH would lower the strangle hold guilds such as yours have over other trader less guilds and just people wanting to sell stuff!!!

Maybe you should be disqualified because you don't understand the system :)

Every guild with over 50 members has a guild store that allows members to sell to each other. You can hardly corner the market if you are only selling to fellow guild members (a maximum of 500).

If your guild is successful at bidding for a trader then you can sell to everyone, but only people who physically visit your trader. This also makes it impossible to corner the market - people will always sell/shop elsewhere.

Besides, it's hard to corner the market when new items are continually being put on sale. In fact it's easier with a global system, because then from one convenient location you can affect the single market. The current system has distributed markets, so it's not possible to influence all of them at once.

By the way, there is no stranglehold over guilds owning traders - it's an open competition, part of the game. Join a guild and help it compete, or stay out of the trader game... it's your choice.

I agree, we have it easy. I have played other MMOs, and there way only one that came close to what ZOS achieved in that department.
However! Let's not kid ourselves. There ARE gold sellers, but they are few and are being smart about it, not "in-your-face" as they are in other (usually F2P) MMOs.

Scrap the original guild auction houses and make one simple central auction house everyone can use.
The problem is as in the real world. Some getting richer and richer by the existing system, the rest desperately. Here you can see exactly who deserves well to the system, and the others. Players who do not play 24/7, and dont need/like that guilds stuff, lose.

Personally, I find the current system as the only weak point in the game.

Smh... So having invincible guards is fine as long as we would not be required to add our name to a list controlled by another player for access to trading kiosks? Do you even care how much effort those guild leaders put into maintaining their trading guilds? I see the work they do for their guilds such as raffles for their kiosk bid, clearing inactives, recruiting, socializing... You only care about yourself, and that is your problem. It is extremely easy to not only join one of these guilds, but to rejoin if you go inactive. And most of them have no requirements at all.

I need to go everywhere,, search many guild traders for the item i need and the cheapest price, this is a massive waste of time, and i cant even sell items if im not in a guild. and there isnt a trade chat....

I don't even use them any longer. I want to find things, and not wander aimlessly over tamriel get get the things I search for in this UI from hell, I might add.

Guild traders are a waste of time, at least for their "customers"
