Keep auction houses the way they are now, separated by guilds, but have one place in each major city we can browse all the auction houses from one place.
I would even be cool with that. Or list every item from the central broker with a tag next to it telling us which guild the item is coming from.6 -

I am swimming in gold. In theory, I can't complain. But I do not feel good this way anymore. The current system is a flawed system making the rich guilds richer and neglecting the poor. I also do not know what to do with all the gold anymore, there is not even a barber shop to spend it. Therefore, I am all for scraping the current system and making a general auction house with equal trade chances for everybody.

And then what advantage do those in the guild get for all their hard work of building a top guild? What would even be the point of having trading guild if not for having a prime location for you guildies to sell their items? That is the very reason why they have put in the hard work and pay more every week for better kiosk. Had their guild slowly climb the ladder to bigger and greater success. The current system is supremely fair. You pay more, you get a better spot, better opportunity for your guildies to sell their items, and the guild makes a name for itself. It's a great system.8 -

The only thing a central auction house would be is new. I am in a large trading guild that gets a prime spot each week and in a social guild that most weeks can find a cheap spot off the beaten path. Fun thing is both places my stuff sells well. Seems very fair to me. I admit the individuals that refuse to join a guild are stuck with selling in zone chat, but that is a choice they made. Any guild has a chance at a trader and even in a bad location things sell.
A centralized auction house makes it much easier for a few players to manipulate prices and that would be neither just nor fair.and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."3 -

Fair... are you serious? Maybe I've just had different experiences. Last AH I took part in I zmade out like a bandit, till blizzard disabled selling items for cash.
Also we don't currently have an auction house, why put it in title like it's a thing?5 -

There is irony in this because a central AH would lead to a small minority cornering markets with little effort.2 -

Nope. The currenty system is supremely unfair. Because gold can buy the best sales places, the rich guilds get a MONOPOLY on the best spots, making them even richer and more powerful - while newcomers have no good place to sell their stuff. Suggestion if a general Auction House is not desired: Reserve one trader on each place where everybody can sell stuff for a %-fee that is dependent on the inflation. This way, the guild trader system would stay in place, but all people would have a chance to sell, and ZOS could reduce inflation by adjusting the fee accordingly.

umagon✭✭✭✭✭I would like to see them redesign the system. I don't see any reason to be paying a player to trade in game. If they want to keep the guild trader system that's fine, but they need to add a central location at faction's capital city where people who prefer to not be involved with guilds can trade. The worst part of the system has to be how time consuming it is going to each individual trader and having to re-input the search criteria. They also need to add trader channels to players can advertise without worrying about disrupting zone chat. Knowing zos I can bet what will happen they will make an "trader assistant" who can search all the trade guilds for you; and charge 15,000 crowns for it.4
