of course the only problem we all have its the conjuring time then misses and then doing it again just to get the target go out of the range so you start again and then it misses ..

i wish it was instant or if there was a place in cp points where you can reduce time for conjuring.

frags proc makes it cast instantly, and it can proc off any mag skill.

I don't see it as a reason to kick you from a group, specially if you are not high level yet, but Crystal Blast is a bad skill. The damage it does when hard cast does not justify its magicka cost and its long cast time. On the time you can toss one crystal fragment you can weave 2 Force Pulses and 2 Light attacks which will give you far more damage single target wise. In AoE situations, true AOEs are better than Crystal Blast.

Another issue is weaving attacks with cast time Crystal blasts is very cluncy. I am all for build diversity, but this skill has problems and if you wish a higher DPS, there are ways to go ^^

If you honestly use it - perfect If you're trolling well that's just not cool, but why nerf another play-style? Just seems silly

I have never been kicked from any dungeon due to using crystal blast on mobs it helps allot normal attacks no buffs in stats is 12.5k and crit hits are usually 20k or so... its a quick way to burn down mobs especially when concentrating on boss however i was always intrigued in fragment so as mentioned i will see how that will work out.

@Wrobel @ZOS_GinaBruno 93 votes is a small sample size, but I'd bet the % of Crystal Blast users is low. Any news on changing this pretty unused morph?

There is no reason to go for the blast version, it costs too much and has an incredibly long cast time, purely based on time saved from the instant proc you gain a lot more damage out of the fragments morph. Just like many other skills this is one where one morph is incredibly good and the other is underperforming.

Did both, and this quote is why I'm on frags now. You get more spells off for more total damage. The extra area damage to the mobs with blast helps early on in PVE a little more than the direct damage of frags, but that was more of a L2P issue for me and there aren't a lot of spells to choose from when your level is low. Once I got more lightning aoe spells I switched to frags for the proc & damage.

About 1/3 of the time frags procs and if its part of your major cast rotation it will for you too.

I use it on my Socr Tank only DPS is Frags but honestly I use Snipe and Uppercut so 1 second cast time doesn't phase me. I agree it should be stamina tho.

I'm gonna admit that on my Sorc Alt, I actually preferred Blast. I simply dislike gambling mechanics for a major benefit. Frags annoyed me because it's not reliable as a morph for the cost of the skill point. However, I have never been fond of spamming pulse to proc it like many do. It's purely a playstyle preference. I tend to want my Sorc to do AOE damage when she's in damage mode, as opposed to single target because I heal in group-content, and solo is the only time I bring out the Destro Staff.

I will add however after doing some practice play with a guildmate, she's making me reconsider adding some more single-target damage rotation for flexibility's sake, and if I go that way, it'll be with Impulse+Frag.

Crystal Blast isn't a "play style" unless being bad is considered a "play style." The ability has too many weaknesses and too little impact to be even remotely considered over Frags or another ability entirely.

It needs to be completely reworked.

Crystal Blast rocks. Ask the Wrobler, he'll tell you. You cast that thing during one sec while the zerg b*** r***s you right away

And even in PVE it is useless...
