    Wow. I can't believe that for the first time since launch, the DK Class which has been completely overpowered has been brought into balance. Now the players of this class throw a fit on the forums and ZOS responds with the appearance of conceding.

    I am fine with DK's having some issues addressed but they should not be the best at everything.

    Consider carefully ZOS, before buckling to the will of those players (many who chose the class because of its superiority).

    DK's are more balanced now than they have ever been. Do not return them to their previous power for every role.

    Lol. Non dk's that have knowledge of the game and multiple toons are admitting they need help. Provide some insight please on how DKS are okay.

    All development time is going to DLC because that's where the money is. What ZOS is missing is that there will be less and less people buying DLC because they don't fix/balance anything after they release it.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno, thank you for getting that information our way but at this point we need something tangible to be worth anything. Back in February we were told Eric was reading feedback in regards to stamina sorcs and would provide an idea of what would be looked at and what direction the class would be taken. We still haven't gotten that, and even when the update did come around there were still glaring holes in the class that people brought up but no longer care to mention.

    The community NEEDS more frequent feedback, and those at the office, either the devs or those who control what they can or cannot say need to realize that this system they have set up now is not working. Balance changes every 6 months is infuriating since it often leaves people bitter about other players or classes in game and once the changes come it completely changes the entire game requiring a heavy rework from most people.

    Have more open communications, less blank post and please get the devs to talk with the players more directly, Eric doesn't even have a forum account if i'm searching right. Why not even use PTS to test balance changes with the community? Involve the people these changes will influence most? Instead all we get is a quick hype post, months of silence and then disappointment as most marks are missed...

    Buffed with Igneous for the +30% more healing on my DK whilst Emperor I was virtually invulnerable in any engagement so long as I didn't let vigor lapse, was like 6,000 non-crit per tick. My health wouldn't even budge below 99% in smaller engagements because they legitimately could not kill me through the HoT, and if things get even more hairy, get this, as emp my Igneous Shield is as strong as it was last patch without emp! Gee thanks ZoS! So yea, Stam DK emp, prolly the tankiest emp simply due to the vigor and igneous fact. I wouldn't say nerf it because I use it but eh... It is unbalanced atm.

    The biggest problem right now with DKs is the lack of mobility and an escape.

    Sustain has been givin to the Nightblade/Sorc while they got to keep their mobility....

    When I heard first about the Vigor change I thought it's a stupid idea. Nowadays I think it was good they made it available for everyone, because otherwise the stam builds wouldn't have been able to be competitive with the (stupid) dodge nerf. In 1.6 Rally and dodge roll was enough to survive on a stamina build, now you kinda need Vigor. So I have to say, they did the right thing with moving it to an earlier Rank. And saying stuff from a perspective of being an emp is kinda invalid.. As emp you always were superpowerful if you weren't the worst player (which is totally fine, no need for nerfs or anything!).
    And don't forget, only DKs have access to the 30% increased healing (DK OP, CONFIRMED, PLEASE NERF :lol:), so for the other stamina classes it's a decent healing but definitely not too strong.
    Btw, my characters are all magicka, so do not think I'm just writing here in my own interest.

    Well.. I guess the Vigorchange was also a buff for PVE but who cares? Not even ZOS cares enough about PVE anymore, if you take a look at the trials and stuff. :disappointed:

    Still doesn't change the fact that they messed up more or less anything else with this patch and that their rebalancing (or let's say the combat team) is too slow and incompetent. Never ever have I seen a company that gives pretty much 0 f**** about their customers and feedbacks like they do.

    Regarding to this whole magicka/stamina morhp stuff... I think they should have just implement that class abilities scales from the highest stats like (i think ultimates do).

    As a magicka DK I would never choose burning embers over unstable flame but now i have to... (though 1.7 DoTs are laughable XD).

    Sarcasm incoming, I hope they change flame lash to stamina so they can kill magicka dk completely xD

    To be clear, we don't have plans to completely rebalance and rework classes like we did back in Update 6. The next update will contain mainly bug fixes, and the update after that will have adjustments and tweaks to the classes.

    Since making talons blockable was such an easy change to implement, why can't it be undone just as easily? Are the code changes that complicated or is this simply a choice by ZOS not to touch any class balance issue until the next update?

    The way they work seems to be to let things settle down, take a look at the numbers in how people are actually playing the classes, and then make adjustments. This pretty much follows what Gina said.

    Right now, whether the community agrees or not, the classes are largely where they think they need to be, and after all the players adjust to the changes, they can more easily see what needs to be done. They will have a lot of numbers spanning the whole player base, not just the people in the forum (even if the people in the forum end up being right).

    It takes them quite a while to make balance changes, test them internally, make more balance changes, and repeat, so that it can be put into an Update.

    I would prefer that they make more studied changes rather than to run from fire to fire with a bucket of water.

    I say give them the time to study the game. Learn to play the game as it is today, expect changes in early 2016 that will toss out a lot of how you are playing now.

    I'm betting they do very little of what you describe. I'm betting they're almost totally tied up trying to get the bugs out of the console versions. And I'm guessing their problems are compounded by being severely understaffed with regards to the things they need to accomplish. That would go a long way in explaining the "timeline" in Gina's post.

    To the "play a sucky DK and wait patiently crowd,"

    No. I will not log in my DK when my other three classes are able to function effectively in a competitive PvP environment. While I am fortunate enough to be able do this, it sucks for other people who have to reconfigure their DK to stamina when this game trumpets "play as you want" or otherwise have to roll out in Cyrodiil with poor skills that no longer function as they were once designed: Dragon Blood was scaled to health at a time when health was the highest attribute and the skill was not affected by traditional stuff like spellpower. Now health has been nerfed and battle spirit nerfed it even though the skill was not crazy out of control because high spellpower increase since 1.6. How was this not seen by the internal testers? Especially since so many DKs slotted restoration staffs and told them straight up during the PTS.

    The last time I was hit by a whip in PvP ... hmm can't remember. Seriously I can't. Numbers are there plain as day.

    So you want to wait and have same internal tester team, to "make more studied changes," when this very same team the wiped away what was a functioning, albeit imperfect system, in 1.5 and replaced in with the TTK nightmare that meant Zerg or NB/Sorc or die? The same team that failed to identify the easily seen problem with Dragon's Blood?

    If there is a pattern here it is not: Class gets buffed, people qq on forums, class gets nerfed, repeat.

    It is:
    • ZoS comes up with fundamental game change idea "X" in its secret laboratory
    • We do not test this, ZoS's internal testers do
    • ZoS redesigns entire game around "X"
    • ZoS then puts "X" on PTS, but can't make anything more than token changes/tweaks because of the resources invested
    • Result: we are stuck playing a game that has failed to adequately address the core issues that existed beforehand and have to deal with new ones that emerge because of change "X"

    Maybe, just maybe, if ZoS put out elements of X on Live or the PTS to get feedback from us how it is working out, these problems can be avoided or at least mitigated. And we wouldn't be stuck playing with broken game mechanics for months and months.

Maybe once i gain more CP it will be an option

    I think he means magicka sword and board, not stamina.

    I also have about 320 CPs -- not really sure how to make light armor sw/sh DK work. The stamina variant, sure.

    I have accepted the fact i have been reduced to a WB spamming monkey. I dislike it as much as my victims but at this point if you end up on the end of this Scrubs WB spam know this.... YOU ARE MORE THAN LIKELY THE REASON i have been reduced to such etrocity and i have no sympathy for you.

    Yeah since the murder of the DK in 1.6 i have played tank or WB spam monkey 2.0 just made it even more of a gap... what i miss is my magicka 1.5 although i agree that it needed some small tweeks then it was absolutely murdered in 1.6 and buried in2.0. @Vortex did help me with a S/B build that was very fun but i felt a lack of damage with my meagre CP's. Maybe once i gain more CP it will be an option

    How many CP do you have, I made my sword n board build work fine and I only got 320 :open_mouth:

    I think he means magicka sword and board, not stamina.

    I also have about 320 CPs -- not really sure how to make light armor sw/sh DK work. The stamina variant, sure.

    Yeah im about 310 CP and i can make it work with stam but not magicka. I find im most effect with my current build but maybe that just suit my playstyle best

    Your fault for using Two-Handed! The damage you can get off with a full rotation of Heavy Attack/Puncture/Bash for me is about 7k, that's just barely under the maximum damage you can get with Wrecking Blow, and the plus-side is with enough CP you can block while doing this, and with even more CP you'll be able to surpass the Wrecking Blow damage thanks to the Heavy Attack CP passive, I should fool around with Molten and my build... Though... Having to use a fully charged Heavy Attack is a pain in the ass... I only really do it after I've stunned someone from a Take Flight when they have no stamina. :confused:

    One hand and Shield was my first line of enquiry, with Pierce Armor seemingly a good fit, at times. But the combo of having Rally with 2H and Tornado on the other seemed more viable. 2H has a bad rep with the WB nonsense, but it really a decent tree. Excellent gap closer, brilliant execute, and a damage-buff heal. Makes me wonder who the hell came up with the Destructive Staff tree.
