I have spoken like that many times here on these forums however this thread and too many others has shown me that, I don't need to speak like that here, apparently flailing my arms around and throwing up on my keyboard is the best way warrant a response and actual change from the devs.

And thank you very much for the kind words about our Guild page I worked very hard on the site and am in the middle of more changes.(being sincere and not a jerk)

Understood, and your welcome, As you may or may not have read, This DLC at present is not for me, that said, I would like to see folks talk me into playing it, not out of playing it. As far as PvP or PvE goes, I like adventure and over the last almost 15+ years I've gotten use to getting my butt handed to me by better players which make my kills that much more enjoyable when they do come, then again I'm not that bad being as the controls are almost identical to the old Death match type games, UT still being my favorite of those.

Anyways as far as access type goes, I just want to see the best solution, or compromise if that is what it comes to. If one does not clearly sway me then I may never decide to play this content and that is a shame because I love IC in Oblivion. This thread has been like riding a see saw for me when I'd rather be on the ground running.

All I want from them is to go with the plan of some always on and some gated. Simple and clean for those wanting to get murdered constantly there you go, go to haderus where IC is always access, for those wanting to contribute to an over all goal and push objectives and provide a semi safe IC for their PvE alliance members go to asura. Something along those lines would fit the bill, but always on access across all campaigns? The gank fest will be real, cyrodill outside of IC will be dead and these forums will be filled with even more complaints because people can't do the content. Calling it now, there was already a large group of people complaining that they couldn't test the content in zone chat during my testing before and after the pts wipe begging for the devs to turn off pvp in cyrodill so they could test.

Almost 2 years of lag, poor performance and no content in Cyrodiil... and then we need keeps to access some PvP content... just lol.

Wow.. PV Door much? Even those of us who SUCK at PVP like good defences and fights at keeps against players. The only time its boring is when you take the 3-18th keep in a campaign with no enemy players, zerg with 48-60 players with you vs a small number of defenders, or have defenders who just run away from the keep when you hit the walls.
I still do remember the raids led by Sainur Ironfist on Auriel's Bow. Calling him a "PvDoorer" is maybe the wrong approach, mate.

Auriel's Bow is long gone now, mate. He is talking like someone who hasnt been in Cyrodiil since they closed down the old campaigns, which I dont believe, and is solely doing PVE content.

And his reply to my comment and another guy in another post above this, just reinforces that perception. Maybe he is just trolling?

Anyway.. shameless plug for my suggestion on how to both gate and allow access from back on page 17:

Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.

    1) I've said it before but the main factor against gated access in IC is having to pay for content that forces players to compete in an imbalanaced environment. This makes fixing the population imbalanace the only factor that hurts gated access since once it is solved then it becomes a contest of organization, effort and skill, not just about which side has the larger numbers.

    2) Once #1 is resolved them Cyrodiil needs to be given value. With the removal of former Emperor passives and the adjustments to camapign buffs the only reason to even play Cyrodiil is for IC access. The problem is that IC is entirely optional so for anyone with IC Cyrodiil is a stumbling block, and for anyone without IC Cyrodiil is rather pointless and boring. ZoS needs to give players a reason to fight in Cyrodiil; something exclusive that makes deciding whether to enter IC or not an actual choice. This would also give players without IC access (or who have not purchased it) something worthwhile to do while they try to regain access.

In summary, ZoS needs to address the population imbalance before gated access will be fair considering that IC is paid DLC. Once the population imbalance is addressed then gated access becomes about organization and skill, not numbers. Once gated acccess is applied then Cyrodiil needs a major buff that will force players to actually think about which is more beneficial, not just give IC all of the benefits.

*3) ZoS needs to figure out a way to dissuade the zerg-to-win mentality and only make it beneficial for seiging/defending keeps.

Well... calling me a PvDoor proves how little you actually know. In Cyrodiil I care about one thing only and that is good and enjoyable PvP. I hate taking keeps, I hate sieging, I hate fighting NPCs, it's pointless.

Imperial City should be accessible at any time regardless of what your faction owns.

Well the simple fact of the matter is ZOS is in business to make money. If you want open access gone or only available at launch for a trial period then the folks advocating this need to come up with better arguments than name calling. Legitimate concerns and the fact that they have the numbers of who plays, and pays, what is the very thing that got ZOS to make the decision to have open access at launch in the first place.

I can take the argument that this is only a bait and switch to get up front sales then gates will be closed, It is logical according to past actions by ZOS and I almost expect this as long as sales and purchaser play style allows for it, but if PvE is where the majority of money comes from on sales then you might as well give it up.

As far as the PvE vs PvP argument goes, I wouldn't put it past ZOS, at some point, to be using IC to test out their PvP and PvE flag rules before finalizing their justice system and adding the Dark Brotherhood content. PTS couldn't really test the way these work as well as IC could before applying it Tamriel wide.

If they bait and switch as you say, and PvP gate access after they have sold the DLC with open access they will get in hot water very fast, both in terms of raging mislead customers and with consumer protection regulators. I would certainly report them if they did this.

But in any case, they won't - they'll just make some campaigns gated later on. They aren't financially suicidal enough to change a major element of the game to the significant disadvantage of the majority of their player base for no better reason than pandering to the noisy minority of this 'one style' of PvP'er.

I for instance love PvP, and PvE, and don't see Cyrodiil as anything special. In fact, most fights are pretty boring. I have found that all of my time in IC on the PTS has been much more fun than running around Cyrodiil in a mindless blob etc. Fights are much more satisfying in IC.

It's been stated many many times that IC is a PVP DLC.

If you are like me a PVE player just dont get the IC DLC and wait for the PVE DLC that will come in 2 or 3 months I really dont see what the problem is tbh.

If PVP players are asking for no gated access then i just dont know what to say.

They can say it's a PvP expansion all they want, but in the way they've designed it's demonstrably untrue.

You cannot make a PvP expansion and then cram it full of PvE and crafting progression and call it a PvP expansion with the slightest credibility...

... but then what ZOS say and do has a long history of being at odds with one another.

They are just pandering to a broad audience; rug dealers do this. It isn't a "PVP expansion" or a "PVE expansion" it is just an "expansion" that they are trying to market to a divided player base so they can to make money on what is quite clearly a jalopy of a game. They are pandering to both types of players to try to get the deepest penetration they can into their player-base, and will say what they can to accomplish that. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed the rules down the road as the language Wheeler used gives him quite a bit of room to re-position.

I bet if you took a look at their balance-sheet their Marketing team likely has a larger take-down now than their art and programming department combined.

Before folks assume what type of player I am:
    I love Solo PvE

I better than like PvP (just don't always have the time to find a group to run with and don't like the idea of leaving them hanging so sometimes I just follow the battle or go it alone) I would love it if I had the time for it.

I hate Group PvE (I hate being forced to play with others who have done the content and don't want to let you experience the story, or at the very least you are left feeling like you are holding them back) I've played this game for over 2 years and only done the first 5 dungeons and one vet version of those 5.

As far getting a target on my back in PvP, well getting killed in a game does not bother me. I usually fill my bounty before I get killed that many times so the way I look at it like I'm batting around 500. I also believe in the old adage "Re-spawn and game on"

Well I joined the Gated campaign with my DC Character on purpose.

It got me to do something I hadn't done in almost a year. I ran with a group last night that took back 3 keeps several resources and a scroll.

Thanks for the trip folks, I had fun.

FYI no lag for me at the time.

Edit: As far as my old posts in this thread goes, I was convinced to try it, and I like it. But marketing could have been better. If I didn't already have access to it, I never would have given it a go.
