I enjoyed Tribute a lot, but I didn't like some of the new decks or keeping up with all the new content (which was fun to unlock and exciting at first).
For longterm interest, I think they should maybe add some seasonal rotations (different patrons available each month) as well as special reward weekends (double boxes?), like for battlegrounds.
Or ideally add Tribute to the basegame without needing a quest, like Battlegrounds. (Brahgas being so specific to High Isle would make this difficult, but maybe that only means the tutorial is locked to High Isle?)
What would also help is an automated monthly "tournament"--out of 5 matches in a weekend against random players, how many times can you win? Better rewards based on how well you do, maybe you can enter twice. And a worthwhile completion prize to draw players of different skill levels.
I'm as worried for the future of ZOS in equal measure as they are worried about my future.
I wouldn't have this attitude but ZOS treats it's customers with disrespect on most levels most of the time. Most feedback is ignored outright and their customer service and in game moderation is done by a faulty AI system and ZOS never reverts universally hated updates or admits any error on their part or makes any noteworthy effort to reverse erroneous bans. It's super offensive that ZOS lets AI do most of their bans and doesn't even have a live CS agent review them unless a formal complaint is made and the customer has the willpower to navigate days to weeks of interactions with the AI system to get in touch with a real live CS agent if it ever happens at all.
...jabs animation, the "they're working on it" video, disrespectful comments on social media from at least one of the lead devs, years of neglecting PvP with promises unfulfilled etc. Respect and compassion are earned and ZOS hasn't earned any. This cow has been milked dry.
With ZOS it's a take it or leave it proposition. They don't bother to cultivate positive customer relations, with the small exception of adding @ZOS-Kevin, and that's just a PR maneuver, but at least it's their too little too late bandaid on a decade of iron fisted dealings with the customer I guess. It's a far cry from actually changing policy to respect the customer needs and desires though.
We have recently removed some unnecessary back and forth from this thread. This is a reminder to keep the discussion civil and constructive. Please keep our Community Rules in mind moving forward.
I don't say this as an insult, I say this as a dude who has been there.
Your obsession isn't healthy and it's not going to make a difference. This isn't a 2005 MMO in which the forums are the center of the community. Whatever we agree or disagree on here is largely irrelevant.
We must respect the direction of the game is the prerogative of the developers. Many of us live in a representative democracy, but that doesn't mean everything can or should be democratized.
ZOS chose a path, most players have adapted to it, so they should stick with it. It WILL change again, because it always has to change, but probably not for a while.
What you're seeing in the forums isn't reflective of an unhappy community. Look at what happens when the servers go down for a couple of hours. There's instantly a 20 page thread about it.
There's a lot of unhappiness about u47 right now because MMO players never take reduced performance well, but not subclassing as a whole.
Now that the new MMO has been cancelled and the focus is now back on ESO, the way forward is going to be interesting. Do you think the future of ESO is in subclassing or returning to balancing classes with an eye to discrete new classes?
