Can't really vote, because the choices are a bit too total for me. I wouldn't say I hate it, though my impression is negative-leaning, but then again it's more a sentiment of "I don't care much".

The reward drop rates are horrible. The tasks are repetative and it doesn't really make sense to repeat them since the non-golden boxes don't drop anything of use (then again, there's no need to repeat them - you can just ignore it without missing anything). Fighting over 1 zombie with 30 other people is no fun. Crafting is okay, I guess, if done once a day for some chance for a good drop in the golden box at least (repetition is useless, since the drops from other boxes are worthless). The incursions are still fun to me, but that's most likely since they're new-ish. I don't think they'll be that interesting anymore in a week or two, but I don't want to think about that now - for the moment, it's still entertaining.

The thing I'd criticize most is how the event was advertised - I personally didn't expect too much (I know from the usual end of year letters that everything is awesome and super all the time, and I can still remember the spectacular new housing feature last autumn or when it was), but it was immediately clear to me that this will lead to disappointment in many people. And I don't think that's a good decision marketing-wise.

As someone who generally hates events, I like this event.

It's nice that you're happy with it, and from what you write, I play the event exactly the same way you do.

At the same time, I understand how many people aren't exactly happy with the event - because they wanted to play some spectacular thing. And while I personally don't care for this event much, I do think that, well, events shouldn't mainly be designed for people who have no interest and only want to have it completed fast, but to provide something that's... actually fun.

Hmm, I think I see the problem. Most of you have been grinding the repeatable quests, possibly on multiple accounts. These quests are short and quick to do and, therefore, pretty boring. You can only do 5 at most of each unless a team member is sharing their 5. It's too many and they are too repetitive to play like that. What I do is the five siege quests, the crafting because it's ludicrously quick, and one of each of the others to get the glorious box, then go back to my normal daily content. That way, I am not bored to death repeating the same quests over and over for hours. I mean, the rewards from the purple boxes are awful, so there is no incentive at all.

We also know that they have a time frame for the completion of Phase 1, so it doesn't matter if most of us stopped the hundreds of little quests; they would adjust the percentage completion to suit their time frame, just like they already did when we got too far too fast on the first day.

It's actually more fun just to chill out at the Rampart camp and see everyone coming and going, it really does feel like preparing for a major conflict. They did a good job with that, but if you are buried in hundreds of fetch quests, you won't get the atmosphere and will very quickly get pissed off. Take a different approach, relax, do your normal daily stuff and watch the progress bar fill up. By the way, I added a progress bar to our guild website for PCEU, you can see it here if you are interested

    https://www.skyrimredshirts.co.uk/

Adding something like this to your guild website can help get the guild into the event; it's just a Google Sheet chart published and embedded, fun to do, though you do have to manually update it every few hours.

If you're doing the 5 siege quests you may as well do the virtrified souls and skip the other lady that asks you to collect animal fat or whatever entirely. You can pretty easily complete both at the same time with a single siege. Maybe it will take 2 sieges to get it done if you arrive late or just didn't get hits in or whatever. Regardless, you'll progress them both at the same time with no additional effort needed on your part.

The vitrified souls lady's golden box shares a cooldown with the animal furs/golden sap/etc lady.

This is the official progress counter, although it's offline for some reason right now:
    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/writhingwall

Last time I looked, it was about 5% for everyone - after 2 days. That would mean 40 days for one phase to complete... Great, looks like phase 3 will start at New Year then ;)

Not especially - for one there isn't enough variety in the dailies, you just get sent to the same places over and over to do the exact same things.

Plus the drops for the consumable things (scales) etc are awful... I've lost count of how many camps and dailies I've done and I've only had 3 scales drop for the pet (?), and none for the other.

It's good they're there now, and I do enjoy playing them, but I can't ignore that this is content that would have normally been part of the regular zone release. It's no extra thing, but just chapter content released after a delay of 4 months. Presenting it to us as some special event thing, like it's a bonus, just doesn't feel right.

i agree incursions should generally be part of a zone at launch, but in this case they are part of the Writhing Wall battle.

outside of story reasons i guess this was done to not overwhelm the developers for update 46, like how the zone is released in parts

One of NPCs in the intro quest at the base gave spoiler regarding one of main-story characters :o No idea why it is allowed, from the promo images to this... Not everyone did Solstice story already; I'm just there for event at this time, and I already know something about two major characters - one from a promo image, other from the words of an Argonian NPC :(

At least there are some funny things to see in the base :D

    Screenshot-20251013-202223.jpg

Keshu is suspicious, but it's ok as long as Molag Bal is doing dailies and bringing supplies:

    Screenshot-20251013-182917.jpg

As for dailies, drop rate of items from mobs seems not very high. For example, I was half-way through the Black Gem Foundry when I filled 15 vitrifies souls - and there are lot of daedra packs there.
I like that things like fat and fur can drop from any species so far, at least.

Crafting dailies are punishment for maxed crafters. It allows to select Level 1 items when crafting for those quests, quest arrow even points at it as preferred choice - but crafting Iron Helm doesn't fulfill the quest's requirement if it says Rubedite Helm.

There is too much downtime between camps. And some of them are bugged - they spawn only for a few seconds.

Event and mob scaling... Having hundreds of mobs and many tough bosses when there are hundred players at camp would be nice. I only could loot something 2 times there - all other times in was just participation in daily and a chest at the end.

And I actually started to think about rushing through main story in Solstice - if I will have to fight 18 million health bosses alone later as part of main story, I will hate it very much :'( But I also hate to do main stories out of order, so there is no win for me in this case - I will be stressed no matter what I choose.

Wow, shameless advertising bump. But NW is completely different to Elder Scrolls lore. I tried to play it on XBox but they f**d up the UI for crafting. Is unreadable on a 40" screen. Super tiny characters as in PC mode and not 10 foot design. So i gave up.

They're needs to be a 4th option for "eh...."

I'm currently maxing out on 3 of the 4 daily quests offered (I don't bother with the ones that are supposed to take me all over tamriel), but the drop rates on stuff that I actually want (motifs, blueprints, fragments) is so bad that it hardly seems worth the effort to grind these events all evening long. This is especially true once you eliminate the gold boxes and you are only down to blue boxes or even just the drops from defending the siege camps. Drop rates need to be higher to encourage you to grind. Otherwise, I just want to do something more entertaining, like killing reds in Cyrodil.

No. I did some fetch quests and crafting ordinary items. This is supposed to be new and fun? The drops are too infrequent for the fetches; they should be guaranteed like when we gather ingredients for the Stonetooth Bash or Jester King Emerick's dazzlers. It would still be boring, but at least it would go faster.

I don't really care about the pet and mount being offered, but if the activities were fun I'd do them anyway.

No. More options makes the poll less useful, either you're enjoying it, you aren't enjoying it, or you haven't participated. The "enjoying it" and "not enjoying it" options don't say anything at all about how strongly you feel about it. Are you having fun when you're doing the event, even a little? If so, then the answer is you're enjoying it. If not, then the answer is that you're not enjoying it.

I've only played the event two days, and I have mixed feelings at this time. As someone who usually just does events for the story and certain rewards, I find this to be about on par with other events so far. That may change by phase three.

I'm glad they made most of the quests accessible to players from Stirk but kept one for those who own Solstice. I'm glad they included crafting quests that don't require any combat. I'm currently doing multiple of the same quests so I can add the info to the wiki, but after that I'll probably just do enough to get the gold boxes.

The drop rate so far is my biggest complaint. I'm getting pet fragments regularly but no styles or other fragments at all. I wish the Coldharbour plot was a new home I didn't already own. I like that they have the Golden Pursuits running simultaneously for extra rewards. I do like some of the event rewards, but I don't know if I'll get them by the end. I know they want to stretch out the obtaining of rewards so players are still participating by the end of the event, but I hate feeling like I have this goal hanging over my head for so long. I'd rather get everything early so I can relax and enjoy the rest of the game.

I do think this event is a little on the long side. I don't like that it overlaps with the Witches holiday event. I have other things I was working on (including finishing the Solstice Part 1 story), which I won't have much time for in the foreseeable future.

I don't dislike the event, but it does feel very same-y and a little grindy so far. Maybe I'll think differently by phase three. I'm grateful for all the work that went into the event, and I look forward to seeing how it progresses.

I think the timelines are a bit messed up, or in the wrong order.

I think phase 3 has the bulk of what players are expecting from this and it looks like thats only going to be a week long thing, and players are going to be burned out from this thing to not have the time or the energy to appreciate it.

By the looks of things really, not much changes between phase 1 and 2. So accelerating those shouldnt change things.

Maybe I missed something but it seems to be "kill an unknown number of MOB A to get X number of Widget A, kill an unknown number of MOB B to get X number of Widget B" with the usual RNG fun and some more crafting, just like the regular crafting dailies.

I did this for two days and only got some more crafting mats of the common variety (been playing a long time so I've got plenty) and a few crafting designs, most of which I already knew.

Please tell me I'm missing out on about half this event... this seems like more of the same daily grind stuff, less interesting than even the regular events.

Do they still have internal testers? It released broken, missing drops, etc. half the camp spawns deactivate, once that is fixed it may be better. I noticed I started getting the new motif and mats half way through my game session, which is an improvement. Bethesda charges AAA prices, we deserve AAA quality. Smaller teams will take their base if not.

I mean… they have PTS testers who volunteer their time.
(Who reported these issues and were summarily ignored)

I have been reporting issues on PTS for over 11 years and not once is my ticket ever answered or acknowledged outside the standard reply... I sometimes see my feedback on the patch notes but most I never hear from again. I understand everyone is busy and you cant reply to everything but there should be some kind of community issue log we can view in game so we can see what has been raised and what has been addressed but then we are talking full transparency right.

I reported in-game that the Phase 2 boss was spawning in Phase 1 and here we are today with the same issue, just give me access to DEV and let me fix it myself :D

    Same and agree.

Some software forums have flags on posts like "under review", "planned" and so on. Community issue log as you said – I wish it could be implemented here. It's helpful to see that so we don't waste everyone's time reporting an issue multiple times, wondering if it's been seen.

Then of course the issue goes Live and everyone on Live is like "ugh why's it like this" – well, because we tried to stop it when it was on PTS and... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ the rest is a black box.
