The choices aren't "I hate it" or "I love it" they're "I'm enjoying it" or "I'm not enjoying it". If you're enjoying it, even a little, then vote that you're enjoying it. If you're not enjoying it, even if you don't hate it, then vote that you're not enjoying it.

Makes no sense for me, sorry. It makes a difference whether I enjoy 20% and don't enjoy 80% of a range of activities, or whether it's exactly the other way round.

20% of activities of one event being fun would still not make an awesome event, just as two quests in West Solstice having been fun doesn't mean the zone's writing was awesome.

Everybody keep staying Solstice area, or staying farming zone of this chore quest.
Then, other zone become totally zero people or almost empty.

I've seen several lonely DPS who are keep standing in front of hard world boss
with enough long time in the those empty zone.

These type of event always discourage to play MMO experience.

I did all the stuff yesterday.
Will just do what I need to, to finish the last of the achievements connected to the event. After that, I'm only logging in to pick up the three golden boxes, that's it.

The daily I'm *totally* leaving out, after yesterday's fiasco, is the gathering material one.
The areas where you can gather are *so* specific, that they are completely overrun and you have virtually no chance at a mob. And when you do manage to get one, then only 3 out of 10 drop loot. And none of it is what is needed for the quest.
My life time is limited. I'm not going to waste it on this.

    As for the rest?
I can really gather resources myself, I don't need blue quest rewards for that. And all the armor and weaponry, that no one ever uses, gets deconstructed immediately. The rest gets sold.
The very, very rare style page is ok, the even more rare furnishing plans are starting to seriously turn me off ESO. It's bad enough in the regular world (I *still* haven't seen a single furnishing plan either from gathering or fishing...), but then to make them virtually unavailable during a 'once in a lifetime' event?
(Add whatever curses and expletives you would be using here, that I can't, or I will get banned)

    No.
    This is not fun.
    It has no value.
It gives no pleasure, there's no dopamine lighting up my brain.

Maybe ZOS should take a look at the current event in WoW? By now I've got 20 new mounts, a huge heap of transmog items, some stuff for the coming housing and more... >.>

There are ways to mitigate some problems people are experiencing. The biggest thing: ignore where the quests show you to go, like specific delves or circles on the map. As usual the Quest Journal > Show on Map UX is severely unhelpful. Instead, heed the quest text: you can get items practically anywhere, so better go where there are fewer players, or even instanced areas like easy dungeons.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work. I tried it with the 'nature spirits' quest. But none of the spriggans or lurchers that I killed, that *weren't* in one of the zones, dropped anything for the quest.
Ok... those that *are* in the zones, don't drop anything either, but that's another story.

While I did not have wild expectations, I thought the Writhing Wall/Worm Cult reheated nachos will have far more reaching consequences, just like the first Planemeld. But no, ok, we are focusing the armies of the entire continent on this tiny island. And it's not even a proper siege??

With the set of repeatable quests we've got I think it would've been better to have the Worm Cult absolutely annihilate this island then have us rebuild it. These war camps just don't feel like preparing for a war, especially when we are going to leave them behind to venture beyond the wall.

As for the rest? The rewards are not that enticing, the golden pursuit is one of the least interesting we've got thus far.

What is exactly so groundbreaking about this event? Compare it to idk, Destiny 2's massive ship crashing into Earth live event, this one doesn't feel like "you had to be there".

I have to admit it, I am overall enjoying the event. I am looking at it from the big picture/story perspective and I can't wait to see how the story unfolds. I do as much of the grind as I can (remember, we pay for the grind in these RPG games) before calling it a day. I find the drop rate as expected for a grindy game. And I can go anywhere in Tamriel to finish the fetch quests, hence I can do them in 15 minutes or less. I have only one character and thus not the grind fest as others. The start of some of the dolmens are buggy though, the map shows the start of one, but then flips to another; who's doing this Mannimarco or Molag Bol - evil jerks.

I keep saying... this isn't a true game event... It's just a collection of dailies comparable to the elsweyr dragon force.

Compare this to WoW where you have things like debuffs that turned you into a zombie, which gave you totally new skills, made you a mob like npc that could infect/turn other players. Or world bosses invading major cities and causing total chaos, roaming world bosses that were really hard, but beatable with strategy, and the list could go on.

Imagine being able to turn into a dremora / cultist, become hostile to other players, and getting all sorts of buffs while doing dark stuff, and on the other side hunt turned players, gather points whatever... instead of the same dolmens, craft x, grind y drops, bring this and that, especially having a very very used theme - the worm cult and daedra.

I played a lot of games, played a lot of WoW and ESO for almost 11 years. This event is not fun so far, and there is nothing new from the experience point of view (maybe on the technical side, what you managed under the hood it could be brilliant).

I keep wondering if the devs approving these gaming concepts really play new stuff, or look at the really original stuff that was done in the past. I doubt the engine limitations are so bad. What I dislike is to see the same tried and tested "success" pattern formula for each DLC, the same dolmens, the same public dungeon, the same 2 delves etc. Guys... do something to bring players together because its fun, not because of FOMO. Players like to team up if its fun and interesting.

One thing to note is, a very high % of ppl rolling ESO, are not on this fourm to give a 'yay or nay'. Myself, guildmates, gaming friends, as well as ppl that are in game chat, are doing quests and kicking arse at camps. With beating PC, but mostly Xbox, in the walls destruction. Is this the best thing ever? No. Is it the worst? No. It is fun to roll with most of the ppl online though.

I didn't vote because I am kind of in between Yes and No.

Yes I am enjoying it because of the new content and excited to see the progression of the story.

No I am not enjoying it because its more copy / paste of things we have been seeing for years now. What I mean by this is when we first got "Dolmens" in Tamriel they were amazing. Then we get things like vents, fissures, incursions, mini dolmens, <insert whatever name you want to here> with the same framework design as the original "Dolmens" in the sense of chase the rotating event where its just going to spawn some static adds that simply because you showed up is guaranteed you're going to win with no real sense of effort required and a reward that once you've obtained it a handful of times it becomes irrelevant. Now with that being said there are 2 exceptions to this and that is harrowstorms and dragons. Harrowstorms felt like ZOS actually attempted to BEGIN to break the mold of the "Dolmen" style system while HS still features the same type design, it is actually a real threat to attack and defeat, kind of the same story with dragons as well. You're not just going to walk up and boop a dragon on the nose and take his reward, but yet still both of these systems fall short in the world of it feeling "Rewarding" to do but it is more rewarding than Dolmens and all those similar systems. What we have been given with the writhing wall in my opinion is Alikr Desert Dolmen farming with bosses who have been given more health just so they dont die in .2 sec and take 15 seconds to kill. Regardless either way, just show up... click a few buttons.... collect your "reward" and go on. No effort required, no risk required. :(

And before the "casual" players start throwing things at me, no I am not some hardcore sweat playing ESO, never really have been. Maybe in the first year of the game me doing vet dungeons I was somewhat sweaty but that content was actually thriving with fun and that is quite literally my point here. If we go back and look at what ESO was in the beginning versus where we are now.... the game has become so horizontally progressive that anything you do kind of just feels like a participation trophy without any real sense of accomplishment. Maybe I am way off base here in saying these things but I really would love to see the game return back to content having a decent degree of effort required for combat that you must pay attention to what youre doing, why you're doing what youre doing and combat be more reactive instead of just being show up and things die for you and you "win". Winning is not fun if there was no competition in the first place.

TL;DR ZOS please take the game back to the days where Doshia was an actual threat and it wasn't because she was overly hard, it was just because players couldn't simply face roll her to defeat her and I promise you ESO will start to thrive again with it being a "fun" game to play and you can still preserve alot of your horizontal content so that players can play with their new character friends and get them acclimated to the game.

I'm playing Phase 1 of the Writhing Wall like I play many of the ESO recurring events. Monday I was grouped with another and we did multiple quests. Tuesday and today I have been done enough quests to get three gold boxes, and maybe a blue box or two. On PS/NA I have been seeing multiple players around Tamriel when I am doing one of the faction gathering quest, or the vitrified souls quest. And multiple players in Solstice while doing a defend the siege camp quest. Most of the quests are more fun when grouped with other player(s).

:/ NO. I'm changing my vote to NO as I'm tired of trying to complete the Siege Camp quest and repeatedly, and I mean REPEATEDLY watching the Camp start to spawn and then just stop, randomly starting up somewhere else (and stopping).

What started as a fun event is now just a bad taste in my mouth, and I wonder if it is going to get any better.

The dailies which take me the longest are the ones for vitrified souls, but that's only because I've been going to the modified delves and public dungeons to do them. I've now been to all of those, so I can either just do the ones which have the cultists and Daedra closest to the entrance, or just go to Coldharbour, so I can do those quickly. The animal-hunting quests are going quickly for me now that I know what drops what and where to go for the easiest pickings. The siege camps can't be sped up because I have to wait for one to become active, but they are going down pretty quickly as far as the actual fights. So from now one I should be able to complete all 24 dailies in about an hour or less, which is going to be a major help when Witches Festival starts up.

You’d almost have to be crazy NOT to be playing New World right now, I know I just picked it up.

I too started playing New World, I’m still a beginner, only at level 35. I gave Writhing Wall a shot but once I realized it’s basically just dolmen farming like in Alik’r, I immediately switched back to NW.

    Wow, shameless advertising bump.

Not exactly, both are competing for your time. This Writhing Wall nonsense needs to meet Nighthaven as a more fun experience, otherwise what’s the point? Playing for nostalgia??

    No, I'm not enjoying it!
Two disclosures which influence my vote/reply; I've worked in the industry as an event manager for an MMO, and I got Solstice for free from a kind friend.

But I still had to vote no, it's very disappointing.

I'm somewhat sympathetic to the limited, repeated content element of the event as, at least in my experience, there are usually programmers, who set the tools you have, and designers who use those tools to give you content. And if ESO is being run on a shoestring the designers won't have many if any new tools and just have to dress up stuff they already can use in new ways... that's how it was on Ultima Online for we EMs. But that also doesn't change the players experience of the content, let alone make it right. I suspect ESO is making a lot of money for someone, what with the FOMO and Whale addiction targetting practices, and it's not filtering down toward development. And that's extremely disappointing. I want to be kind to the Devs no doubt getting reamed on both sides, justifiably from the players who experience dull, repetitive content they've already seen before, and no doubt from staff elsewhere who say things like "Pretend it's all awesome, describe it as world changing, sell this crap so we can buy another lamborghini"... but at the end of the day, you're here to provide something wonderful for the players; either poop or get off the pot.

And secondly, despite getting it for free, if even I am feeling the value content of this event is poor, then it's shocking they've charged a season pass amount for this; again, blame the Whales and the FOMO addicted for allowing the industry to exploit their unhealthy behavioural patterns, but ESO still is responsbile for the effort they put in, and it's very, very bad.

Solstice is tiny, sparsely populated and landscapped, and the event is not only badly designed but even the bugs are irredeemably bad; revealing the animation for attacking the gate in a later stage everytime you access the teleport to the Solstice camp? Having the Stage 2 World Boss spawn in Stage 1, but not give the associated rewards? How is every bug a disappointing spoiler? How to you set drop rates to be so low for the only quest that will be camped to buggery, remove the golden chest from it showing you know how frustrating it is... then leave the frustration of drops in? How do you openly show that the Event "Progress" is being fiddled to stall for time, and not pull that out of the design so as not to frustrate your player base? Do the Devs not understand what playing for enjoyment is any more, is it all marketing and behaviour exploitation now?

As the details of where the drops becomes more known by the player base, I moved over to Delve bosses to try and get some furniture at least. Even there the drops are low, respawn rates are long, and a few of them have abilities to murder solo players. Again, industry experience, I know the logic behind why you put drop rates low on mass engagement events; you hope to encourage trading between players, which will allow lucky newbies to trade at current Gold value rates and catch up. But that logic is hopelessly outdated in an age of online grifting and price fixing etc. There's a reason a lot of MMOs have moved away to personal progress instead, and that's because players just prefer to play at their own pace, and make their own luck...

Now I blitzed the GP in 4 hours, because despite only playing for maybe 2 years, I already knew all the cheesy methods to maximise return from the same old content. But I'll never use the mount or pet because they are (subjectively) ugly, and doesn't fit my personal/roleplay needs. I don't feel anything much about achieving them, when I should feel delighted in working towards the goal. Which is how a truly "world changing" event should treat you in game; why is the reward fixed, where are the "Choose your own reward" tokens so people can pick their own mount, something they'd actually want, as a thank you for finally defeating the Worm Cult, say? I know why they aren't in game of course, but even MMOs that follow the Whale-Soaking model, like Star Trek Online, will give you free "Any top end ship" tokens during events, knowing it's just one out of hundreds available. ESO can't even manage that grudging easing of predatory behaviour.

And there are to be weeks of this? With no change now until Stage 3? Urgh.

This is bad. ESO, do better by your players.

I don't seem to understand the drop rate on these things. The vitrified souls were dropping like candy for me randomly but then when I was there at the very beginning of another dolmen thing starting, and there were hardly any people attacking the adds, I didn't get a single drop from the daedra at all.

Other quests that have me going around all of Nirn for add drops also take forever. Give me more mobs cuz everyone keeps hogging them. Or make them spawn on faster timers to make it somewhat bearable.

Too much of a grind for too little reward, the whole thing is just way too repetitive and takes way too much time.

If you mean the triple drops, I think there was just some kind of Twitch-wide issue with drops, so you might want to check it again. I'm not sure how long the drops campaign is supposed to last, because the details on the drops said until tomorrow but the ESO streamsrs were saying that the drops are until sometime next month. In any case, I'd check it again if I were you, refresh the ESO streams you're watching, be sure your accounts are still linked, etc.
