Putting a halt on all Crown purchases & ESO Plus until Akamai is removed

I've had enough of Akamai ruining our game, pushing our ping far beyond anything it should be near. I am putting a halt on purchasing ANY crowns, renewing my ESO Plus membership or doing any sort of Crown sales at all until Akamai is removed. Players need to start standing up to this crap, if you're not going to bring a positive experience to customers, we simply won't be your customers anymore, it's as simple as that.
If you are with me, simply leave a reply saying "I am with you" to show ZoS we are not going to stand for this.

They got rid of it, it should have been left that way. They know how many times we've already complained about it yet after a good run and good feedback of a lag free game without Akamai, they decide to bring it back. It makes no sense.

It might even be software they have with them that maybe detects certain issues. If they activated it yesterday it might have been related to that gold thing. BS. You really ask to remove the protection ? Without protection we dont get any ping at all. And Akamai is the industry leader. Sad state of gaming but thats it. Or do you want ZOS pay bitcoin every week for "data protection services" ?

✭✭This is caused by a *** up on Akamai's part (or, on Zenimax's part if they *** up a config somewhere which in turn *** up things on Akamai's end), but this isn't caused by Akamai itself. ESO has used Akamai long before it started *** up connections, and many other games use Akamai without the same *** ups.
This is caused by an Akamai config *** up, hence sending traffic where it shouldn't be going. Address the config, you'll fix the issue, and ping will go back to normal. Though that's the hard part, getting Zenimax to acknowledge this *** up, and getting Zenimax to address the config.
Also worth a mention, if you're referring to Oceanic being *** up by Akamai, they didn't fix it by removing Akamai, they fixed it by either letting Akamai know that they need to fix the config, or by fixing the config themselves. Akamai has been here the entire time since they fixed the Oceania *** up.1 -

This is the direction this game has been going for a while now. Milk the customer, with little to no real improvements, for maximum profit. Continue this cycle until the player base dissolves.7 -

Maybe its just me being an Aussie but that ping looks good to me, on a good day even before the latest update, normally sitting at double the ping value you have shown in your screenshot, on a bad day 999+
People are playing the game with much worse ping then you are, not saying it's right, just adding my 2 cents but reserving my sympathy for when your connection starts to come close to what I and many others have to deal with.
The servers are in a sad state that when your showing what is a crap ping for you, that still looks good to many others playing this game.0 -

It's called addiction. If absolutely meaningless pixels that aren't even yours make you spend such money, you have a problem. Because the thing you want isn't even guaranteed at all. Also... Once you get them you only rent them lol. All accounts remain as permanent property of ZENIMAX.
I too do spend a lot of money on this game. But still within reason.
Spending 5000 dollars monthly like a friend of mine, who wants to get all apex mounts and near has a mental breakdown if he doesn't get them is just not okay.
Also look at this from the moral perspective. Somewhere out there is a child dying of hunger. And here we have a 40 year old manchild crying himself to sleep over not winning a virtual rented property in a lottery, spending an amount of money that would guarantee aforementioned child a normal life. I dont care about people who spend 150$ + on crates... I had friends who do hard drugs and gamble, I just removed myself from their lives. And learn from their mistakes.
I just know what is good for me and my Self Respect when paying for a product. The second I am displeased with it I stop and move on, its that simple.
Each dollar makes a difference, the worst the performance is in game the less people will spend on it.. its that simple.

I live in Australia too and with a VPN I sit on 220-250 ping which is playable, not the best but still playable. A jump in double the ping is completely unplayable. Rubber-banding, dying well and truly outside of AoE's after dodging out of them (even BEFORE you know an AoE is coming), skills not being cast, missing half my light attacks... I been thinking about this. I think it is silly to think that a company doesn't run like a casino, mainly, how tight they watch every dollar.
Just like a casino, the house will always win. They literally watch every dollar. They are not just about the "big rollers", they are about every dollar. They record every bet, not just the above xxx amount. Every bet. They know where every dollar is.
So yes each sub is known, and if they lose one then yes they know. If they make a move to retain, that depends on the general losses.
