I just had to check my calendar because I thought this had to be a Aprils fools joke.

Is this why we have been getting very long loading screens all this time, because of loot we store away?

I've never heard of an MMO expecting customers to wait possibly hours to log in, that is just terrible. What if the game crashes while on a long loading screen? Just expected to log in and wait again from scratch?

Shocking, it really is.

I already have troubles logging in. Sometimes I disconnect 3-4 times before I can finally get in. I hope this doesn't completely lock me out of the game.

Yes, you can log in on all your chars, open bank/storage and visit your homes before you log off for the night, and then copy the Inventory Insight saved variable file and paste it on your desktop or something. It'll be in LUA and s**t to read, but it will act as a log of your items.

I'd also recommend grabbing a screenshot of all your currencies. I'm sure they don't intend for something to go wonky, but it never hurts to be prepared, and it could help expedite the support, should it be needed.

Yeah, I don't have a really good feeling about this.... I'll be logging in on my second account (which has gobs LESS of everything - including toons - than my main account.... so hopefully will be done fairly quickly).

My main account.... I might leave it for as much as a week, depending on what happens with the second account. Since I'll effectively be OOBW after the download.... well....

Cleared my mail.
Stacked potions/foods/recipes/poisons/etc. in one place.
Put my active characters (plus 1 storage character) in the same place.
Will log back in around 12:30 to clear any sales, fill the broker again then put my crafter with everyone else.

If it only was two hours it would be ok, I'm fearing a far longer one though....
And besides, it's good to clean up once in a while, as I had like over 60 surveys and now had a reason to do them. Thus now I won't have as many inventory problems as usual for the next time now, with over 60 item slots more. XD

Yes, exactly, the German Thread implies strongly a time span of more than two hours as possibility as well. It was also said there that the craft bag counts as well

My 15 characters probably average >130 inventory slots used.
My back currently has >400 slots used.
I have all the strorage chests.
I have a craft bag.
I have some houses.
I surely have over 3000 inventory stacks or items total.

It was easy to clean up an extra 1% of that as a direct response to Gina's request in this thread. I may actually have gotten 2%, plus another 2% by being sure I didn't have a backlog of unopened hireling emails.

My main concern is that you can't just let the loading screen finish. You'll get booted for inactivity. So you have to move the mouse and click elsewhere frequently in order to not get disconnected. We are supposed to sit at loading screen that lasts couple of hours, great. At least, this feature should have been turned off.

You only get booted for inactivity once your character is fully loaded in, which happens at the very end of the loading screen. Presumably your character will not fully load in until this update is done. I would be genuinely shocked if they expected people to periodically click the mouse or whatever on a black screen for up to two hours, especially since there's no reason for them to do it that way.
