Tharn may *want* to do so, but that can just be a plot device to start assisting him with his machinations. It doesn't actually have to work. The regular timeline and the war can continue while the former Vestige is off in other versions of Tamriel.
In any case, ZOS are the ones hinting at something involving a Dragon Break with the broken dragon tablet and a prior announcement about piecing things together. My own comment was on how that could lead to new avenues for creative content without messing up the base game.

People just won't let that go, every update "Spellcrafting is coming."
But I have to admit that I thought the same thing when I saw it. Some were saying dragonbreak because it's a broken tablet with a dragon on it, but I just thought spellcraft tablet.
If you revisit the old 2014 Spellcrafting videohttps://youtu.be/3LkeMacg-b0 the similarities are very obvious. Starting at 54:00 or at 57:40 you can see that the symbols on the tablet from the Twitter pic and the QuakeCon video are very similar.
Not similar at all.
They are. It's just a different type of rune but if you can't see the similarity you blatantly ignore it.
In my other thread somebody already pointed out that the Twitter pic tablet looks identical to a thing that is already in the in game data files but not yet available. And it's pretty much a Spellcrafting related item.
Just look @ZunaRoath post (thanks for pointing that out!):
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/451528/speculation-chapter-iii-what-do-we-know-suspect-expect/p3Just a thing I just found. Nothing too official since it comes from the Essential Housing Tools addon. But in the addon, in the FX you can place at your home, there's one called "Sigil, Tablet", the symbol it places is exactly the same from the broken tablet on the Tweet. The symbols from this addon are grabbed directly from the game itself, so it is safe to say this one symbol was already in the game, I can't also find the textures of this symbol in the addon folder. This makes me think that this indeed will bring Spellcrafting.
I don't think this symbols related to spellcrafting. Stop saying spellcrafting when you saw every symbol.

My mistake, I read that as extending the idea.

As such, next year’s story and adventure will be something truly special for all Elder Scrolls Online players. We are so excited to be able to share it with you soon, and we can’t wait to see how you all put all the pieces together starting early next year.

PvE in Cyrodil is something you do either for the achievement, the AP or just the danger feeling.Loves_guars wrote: »I would like the war to finish, maybe this is a way of letting Cyrodiil be a PVE zone, but at the same time I'd feel bad for all the players that enjoy open world PVP (I even do sometimes) Maybe there's a way of having both? Or without "factions"?
Yeah I love open world PVP in eso. Yes it has its performance issues that need to be resolved. Maybe what they could do is still have the PVP version and then have a PVE version you can travel to through the main maps. I guess this is where the Dragonbreak everyone is discussing could come in place. The PVP zone would be the dragonbreak (stuck in its own timeloop) then the PVE zone opens up for the new story line.
I would be cool with that
Plotting the most natural course of things, the more likely issue none have mentioned yet would be the large amount of free Skill Points that would be needed to explore the new skill lines. If Spellcrafting does happen, I foresee myriad angry posts about the lack of enough Skill Points despite the nearly 500 points currently available and the fact that no one needs every skill.

As far as dragonbreaks are concerned, we are most likely already in one. It's the only way to explain in universe the multiple vestiges running around and the limited historical information around this time.

Inc NPC trying to stop the war using the thing. The NPC truly wants to stop the war but can't control the thing. The thing is let loose and might destroy the WORLD. We stop the thing.
Questline - roughly 8-12 quests - length - 4-12 hours depending on playstyle.
Toss in a delve + public dungeon + trial.
- Insert new Game play mechanic here
You just got yourself a chapter.

Um. "The thing"? What thing? What ARE you on about? And only 4+ hours of play time?
*rolls eyes*

these dragonbreak theories have one big hole. the fact that ZOS’s engine/servers in no way can handle multiple instances of the entire game. it can’t even handle one instance of cyro. so multiple versions of the game existing is probably beyond the tech capabilities they have.

This is just cyrodiil, despite the megaserver the PVE zones are in fact instances. They only shard into other instances when so many people are online though. Usually seen during events.
Anytime you ever get a loading screen in just wandering around, this is the game switching you instances.
