Honestly, truly "ending the three banner war" would mean an end to PvP in Cyrodiil, so you might not be far from the truth of it.

That's actually not far from the image shown in the OP. Obviously much cooler having the dragon skull on it, but still not too far off from the old image of a Spellcrafting tablet.

EDIT: Actually, I don't think that skull is representing anything Daedric… I think its straight up supposed to represent a dragon skull, which would make this strange broken tablet more like a representation of a Skyrim-style Dragon Wall, but in tablet form.

To all of those saying, "this signals the end of Cryoland".... they JUST updated the map last update. Nothing major (completely agree) but if they knew they were about to BOOM the entire map, I doubt they would pick the last update to finally give the map an update.

On second thought, that would be a savage move. I would totally love if Zo$ did that.

I suppose it could be a dragon, although that didn't enter my mind at first - the horns seemed much longer than usual for TES dragons.

That could mean that Tharn plans a Dragonbreak to end the TBW, but how? A Dragonbreak just means that time doesn't move linearly any more and different competing events can occur and be true at the same time. Possibly every faction will win the war during the Dragonbreak ...?

My first thought was that the stone looked like the Dragonstone from bleakfalls barrow in Skyrim. But it looks nothing like that after googling.

I hope they don't do a Dragonbreak. I've always thought of them as the weakest, laziest part of Elder Scrolls Lore.

There's another possibility, one that Abnur Tharn is just hoping to end the 3 Banner's War by adding a new element to it. So we have 2 big possibilities to what this means:

1. This is truly a teaser that a big event is coming that will end the 3 Banner War. This means there will be a huge PVP event where it will be decided which faction won, once and for all. This will also mean all of the PVP lag we've been facing will be taken to new heights of horridness as even more people flock to Cyrodiil to try to participate in this event.

2. Abnur Tharn has discovered something he thinks might turn the tide for a faction, but in reality, it just means a new game mechanic is being added but besides the new mechanic, it'll just continue being the normal "business as usual" in Cyrodiil. Given Abnur is a very renown spellcaster, and given the appearance of that broken magical tablet in the OP's picture, what could that mean...

Spellcrafting… Spellcrafting… Spellcrafting!

An interesting, and possibly unrelated, bit of thinking related to the upcoming PVP event. Perhaps they are running Midyear Mayhem now because they know they will not be doing one over the summer. Maybe the upcoming Chapter is a PVP chapter.

The events that take place in Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim are all Dragonbreaks.

I would even say that, technically, ESO is during a Dragonbreak. Perhaps Tharn is just coming up with ways to alter the Dragonbreak.

Yeah for real, might as well have the Imperials recapture it and turn it to a overland zone. Might as well focus on BGs for PvP.
