3 Banners War Future Content Tease?

There's another possibility, one that Abnur Tharn is just hoping to end the 3 Banner's War by adding a new element to it. So we have 2 big possibilities to what this means:

    1. This is truly a teaser that a big event is coming that will end the 3 Banner War. This means there will be a huge PVP event where it will be decided which faction won, once and for all. This will also mean all of the PVP lag we've been facing will be taken to new heights of horridness as even more people flock to Cyrodiil to try to participate in this event.

    2. Abnur Tharn has discovered something he thinks might turn the tide for a faction, but in reality, it just means a new game mechanic is being added but besides the new mechanic, it'll just continue being the normal "business as usual" in Cyrodiil. Given Abnur is a very renown spellcaster, and given the appearance of that broken magical tablet in the OP's picture, what could that mean...
    Spellcrafting… Spellcrafting… Spellcrafting!

if we are going to speculate lore, i would say it will deal greatly with the imperials. Abnur tharn is an imperial afterall, and he has made it very clear he is a loyal subject to the empire. He wants to make the empire great again. Anything he does will be just a step towards or a means to restoring the Empire. Keep in mind lore-wise, the events of ESO are about 100years before Tiber Septim(Talos). Its safe to assume the Imperials will not be down for long, if they are going to stay true to lore, they will eventually have to end the three banners war and have the Imperials rise up again via a dlc or chapter and then create another pvp zone/area. As far as which faction wins the war, as i saw in another comment where they just have a huge pvp event and the players ultimately decide which faction wins could be possible, but i dont see ZOS doing that. Keep in mind between all three factions only the Aldmeri Dominion is still in existance up into the current events of TES5:Skyrim. I do not say this because i am biased and typically play mostly AD, but because its true. I didnt realize it until i saw this little fact revealed to me via a youtube channel, i think it was fudgemuppet, or Imperial knowledge. Either way i am excited to see what happens with ESO. It is by far one of the best games ever made and still has infinite potential.

The AD actually falls before the septim empire was forming (Tiber septim defeated the 2nd AD, eso AD was the 1st) Skyrim's AD is the 3rd AD

Well we can speculate till the cows come home or we sit and wait till next week to see if we get any info on whats to come. Cause this is how most of the content releases have been they give a hint then the following week they give us news on whats to come and announce a livestream that says PTS for the next release is mon the 14th of January and we see what it is.

As for the next Chapter yeah this is a big hint as to what it could be but again until we have more info all we can do is speculate.

Yeah for real, might as well have the Imperials recapture it and turn it to a overland zone. Might as well focus on BGs for PvP.

If they did something ignorant like that, I'd be out.

The real ignorance was trying to have mass PVP combat in the game when their servers couldn't handle it and letting such a disgraceful, neglectful performance span for nearly 5 years. Tens of thousands, maybe hundreds already left a long time ago.

I would hope they are not leaning on MB again since he should still be licking his wounds. Considering we supposedly handed him a blistering defeat I think it would show a lack of creativity if they used him an a major antagonist this early on. I thought the IC appearance was not very creative.

My first thought was that the stone looked like the Dragonstone from bleakfalls barrow in Skyrim. But it looks nothing like that after googling.

I hope they don't do a Dragonbreak. I've always thought of them as the weakest, laziest part of Elder Scrolls Lore.

The events that take place in Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim are all Dragonbreaks.

I would even say that, technically, ESO is during a Dragonbreak. Perhaps Tharn is just coming up with ways to alter the Dragonbreak.

Can he magically dragonbreak in spell crafting for us?

If this ends up being a Dragon break I hope this could also mean updates to the alliance zones to make them seem like they aren't stuck in the past. I believe that breathing new life into some older content is almost if not as important as adding new content if done correctly.

Now I wouldn't consider myself a lore expert or anything and I don't know the exact amount of time that has passed in the game since launch but its always seemed weird to me that after all this time all those places I have previously helped in my adventures are still plagued with the same problems. Shouldn't those places have cleaned up the mess after the problem was solved? A good example and something I really liked was in Orsinium when we progressed through the story the city was slowly being built and by the end of it the city was developed and new statues were put up.

I know that this would be complicated because it would basically divide the player base between people who have done the content and people who haven't but the updated zones could be treated as new zones while still keeping the old zones that people can go back to if they want. That's where the dragon break could come into play as a way to kind of keep the player base together without removing older content and having new people miss out it. (like what WoW did with cataclysm which is why I can't get into that game)

Some examples of what I would like to see come to ESO in the near future:
    • Complete removal of Dark Anchors from the alliance zones since we stopped the planemeld so the anchors should have been permanently destroyed with them. (correct my if I am wrong)
    • Updated towns and cities similar to how Orsinium worked. After you complete a zone and progress through the game the cities can begin rebuilding i.e. Camlorn is longer infested with werewolves and the city is rebuilt and becomes a new area for things like crafting, guild traders, etc.
    • New story quests and delves for the zones with new problems to solve and new things to discover.

These are just some of my opinions on what would be cool to add to the game. Feel free to add some more :)

All MMOs leave some things in place so new and old players can do content together, and dolmens are central to many achievements as well as Fighters Guild dailies, but other aspects could be updated (either that or like WoW you'd need a way to go "back in time" to the old version of base-game zones).

Yeah the complete removal of anchors would probably be too much work to make happen but its something I thought would be cool. Making a second version of each zone so you can still go back in time to do the older content would be a possible solution but sadly is probably never gonna happen. I mainly just wanna see older content update as time passes.

They can leave the anchors but still clean up a few things and add quests that come after the original faction storylines, like repeatable quests for the Ring of Daggers, Eyes of the Queen, and Hidden Armigers. You'd get whichever one is your original faction, since after all you are the monarch's champion. Or something else.

Oh, that's interesting. I wonder how they determine who gets those or other pieces.

Tablet could definitely be a dragon. Most dragons in TES seem to have horns that go straight back and don't curve like that but Alduin's does and so does Paarthurnax.

PVE version of Cyrodiil is possible. Dragonbreak allows to have both versions - a PVP one and a new PVE. It would be great
