I'm sorry for getting off-topic a little bit, but is it normal for me to be installing this game incredibly slow? I've never experienced anything like this before. I believe it may take me a little over a day or so to completely install this game.

Only way to fix this issue is to do the following trust me It's the last thing I wanted to do with a limited data cap now costing me a serious over usage fee.

    1. Uninstall ESO
    2. re-download the installer.
    3. do the entire install process including downloading the 23GB + 5GB blocks.
    4. now you will have a full working copy of ESO yes it's a damm pain but with the dissapointing support we have had for the last 7hrs

While this works we do face three problems,

    1. Not enough HD space for many
    2. Slow connection that requires a 10+ hour wait
    3. It will just happen again with that launcher, its an issue of TESO since February.

As soon they release a patch the game will be broke again for many and they need to release a stable version of their launcher or give us the files for direct download which are corrupt until a new version is ready.

I thought that they worked something out over night, but it seems they have forgotten us :(

Can someone with working installation check this files and attach them if they exist?
Can you check if this files exist for you after reinstall? If they exist please attach\upload it somewhere.
    ESO\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\depot\depot.version
ESO\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\game_player.version ( or any other version file in this folder)
    ESO\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\vo_en\vo_en.version

I guess its not working because launcher deleted them..

I don't have any of these files, I asked yesterday if ZO could upload these, but they yet have to respond. :(

So, since I am playing using ESO.exe, will I run in to trouble when a new patch launches since my launcher only gives me the "Install" option?

I'm moderately sure running eso.exe will work up to next patch. At that point a working launcher will be needed.

As soon as they send another patch out you'll need to run that launcher instead of the eso.exe - so they need to fix it (or just give in and reinstall the game).

Ok guys. Here is a partial fix for problem. This all happened because launcher deleted this files:
    ESO\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\depot\depot.version
    ESO\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\game_player.version
    ESO\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\vo_en\vo_en.version

So assuming you have the correct version of game you just need to copy them back. Its for eng version. If you need for other version ask people with other lang versions.
    Here it is:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/597502/eso/depot.version
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/597502/eso/game_player.version
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/597502/eso/vo_en.version

This may cause problem if you real game version and version in this file differs. But i guess if you able play directly with eso.exe you have the latest version so this should be fine. Anyway thats a better then waiting another n days from zenimax to solve this problem..

That actually worked! If this solves the issue for everybody then you've actually done Zenimax's job for them and you should most def get your share of the monthly sub cut.

    Thank you so much Aldarun!

Hopes this works for all of you

Thanks a lot for uploading those, works wonderful :)

Such an easy fix, but the ZO guys just didn't gave us those files when asked last night, pity.

However, I feel sorry for everyone who had or still has to redownload the whole game. Make sure to save those three files in a separate folder as well incase the launcher messes up again and NEVER, hit install if it appears - just copy over the new files then to the TESO folder.

This should work, as it only deletes your game files if you hit install, as far I know.

Just launch the game with eso.exe and ask in your guild or zone chat about this files. It will be faster because on forums people come when they dont have this files and have this issue .

That should fix issue unless you have deleted you real content of game ( and u not able to play using eso.exe). I just opened applications.json and looked into it. There few section about check install and check partial install, so to check for install launcher uses this files. Have no idea why zenimax take so long to do something about it when its so obvious..

I found this on my desktop shortcut for the launcher.

    "D:\Zenimax Online\Launcher\Bethesda.net_Launcher.exe" /InstallOrRun "ESO_Beta"

Don't know if this is what is causing the problem but I removed the "/InstallOrRun "ESO_Beta"" from it and re-downloaded the game. Now it works.

This worked for me, thank you.

When i removed that from the shortcut the launcher downloaded two 50mb and one 2mb patches and i got my play button back.

Brilliant, this worked for me! I luckily still had all my files, launcher for some reason just kept trying to download 22GB . Copied those files in and i got a "play" button again.

In the launcher under "Game options" canceled the install, then under "Game options" did a Repair, this took a about 15 minutes in my case. After that the "play" button showed "Update". After selecting this the game started downloading and installing a 50 MB patch. After that everything was normal again.

I was playing from eso.exe and i had still all the client because i did a backup copy of the client before trying to use the Install button in the launcher because the same problem happened for me some days before the early acccess so i was aware that this launcher is horrible
I still have problem understanding why Zenimax was not able to find this workaround after all the log files they asked to post...
