Never. If they do so, many ppl are out from eso for sure.

If it happens it happens. Not everyone would be happy. But that's any changes made here. You persevere and make it work.

I'd be cool with it if they seriously reduced the number of materials needed to gold out an item, otherwise I'd walk from the game. It's heading down the path of replacing fun with grind.

    Yes, increase the gear cap!
What I dont understand is how the CP can go like 750 points, but the gear stays at 160? This makes no sense to me

increasing the gearcap wouldn't make even less sense at all.
    You ask why?
atm: Players are scaled to CP160, mobs are scaled to CP160
with gearincrease: players are scaled to CPXXX, mobs are scaled to CPXXX

so this would only increase numbers on both sides....and change nothing (but everyone would need new gear and can trash all old gear).

    This exactly.

It changes NOTHING but having to re-grind gear.

You can do that without a cap increase... just go grind another set of what you’re wearing or desire, and pretend the gear cap increased.

Pretty much this. If anything the naming convention just sucks calling it CP 160 gear and that makes it seem like it should go higher, but there's no reason it has to if raising it changes nothing.

What doesn´t make sense?. Let´s list a few things of why this would be a "deal breaker" on the majority of ESO population

    1. The gear wont increase your damage over the content, all content is scaled to maximum every time you enter or join a zone. So there will be no benefit at all, they would have to get rid of the CP system.
    2. The meta/BIS is changing all the time, even the BIS may not work all the time, so you usually change gear. From PVE to PVP is the same, you basically change gear from trait Divines, Infused, etc to a trait like Impen. So people, including me, have several sets already on a toon.
    3. Related to 2nd point, most people have more than one toon, most people like to have those alts with gear/build of their own, so no having to nude one, put in bank and swap, NO, you just swap, so from 2 up to 15, depending how many you have, the investment in TIME and GOLD is huge. Those are the people that keep the game alive, not the casuals that want to hit 40k but play 1 week every 3 months.

Basically it would be a ****** idea, you even get the chance to be stronger every patch, the CP system allows it, and that's the reason they increase the cap every patch. Every patch you can unlock some perks from the system and is way to easy to earn CP this days.

Edit: Don´t Necro a post that had results so overwhelming against what was proposed, whoever did it xD

People are already complaining about how easy the game is becoming. This will kill the game I think.

    It’d be 100% pointless....no benefit...all negative

So probably will be implemented in an upcoming patch

Why do people want a gear increase???

Every enemy in the game is scaled... therefore if you get 200cp gear all the mobs scale to your power.

It will literally an excersise in hours of farming to be as strong as you already are.

    No.

The champion point system is a mess as is.

It divides the community, creates longer queue times in all aspects of the game, it groups players in cooperative and versus gamemodes with new/low cp players with max (not fun either way), screws with balance, etc...

Personally I would rather see the champion point system removed from gear all together, and converted to a fun system that changes visuals of abilities, execution finishers, xp/gold gain, travel, housing, mount addons, etc...

Leave the current cap in place.

The power creep in this game has already made most content a push over. Increasing the gear cap will only make it worse.

Increase gear cap definately. And do so more regularly. Good for the economy and will increase demand for crafting.

too late I suggest for such changes, you can't really change from a vertical to a horizontal then back to some kind of mixture of both, players patience is already thin, I would think that now, some would rather do their grinding in new game.

Old thread is old, but why not. Frak no it shouldn't go up. The gear grind is monumental enough as it is now.
