Shadow abilities no longer grant Ward/Resolve but cleanse roots/snares when activated

Yea, siphon nerf wasn't enough, lets poke the nightblade tanks with a stick while they bleed out.

Thou shalt change Expert Hunter to reveal hidden enemies from 6 to 8 meters tho.

What is the point of this thread? Just like the other thread in this section about nerfing cloak, there's no strong reasoning being stated for why any of these listed nerfs should take place, which leaves the only legitimate option (no nerf).

Either give strong reasoning to support why a nerf should occur, or move on.

That's nowhere near enough. Multiple passives available in game that reduce that effective radius to almost nothing. Also one dodgeroll almost creates that entire gap.

1. Detection increase and reduction passives only apply to sneak. Invisibility is always revealed by its counters regardless of stealth perks.

2. You can't dodge roll while cloaked without breaking cloak, which reveals your location and direction of movement to the attacker.

3. There are more than enough counters to both stealth and cloak in the game already, not even taking into account all the bugs that plague cloak and have since launch.

4. Get good.

Rofl. Basically the dot surpression nerf is the only option which wouldn't be a complete overnerf (would "only" be an instaloss against dot builds, which are already dominating duels).

Funny thing is that I agree with Cloak being too strong but your nerf suggestions are ridiculous.

Here's the solution:
Separate PvP and PvE. different skill effects for each one. Then they can gut PvP skills to their hearts content and PvE can continue to have their gameplay as well.

Or I could just play my Nightblades instead since the skill floor for both varieties has bottomed out with the recent buffs. That's probably what most people will do, and PvP will just be a big game of Nightblade whack-a-mole.

Yeah, please just play Nightblade and come up with better nerf suggestions which wouldn't kill the class <.<

Increase the cost of cloack.

This soultrap idea is interesting, this ability has been weak since beta and the soul scourge passive has always been more convenient for filling soul gems as you go.

I wish they would make soul trap more interesting.

Well I mean I am technically a night-blade main.. although I have been playing a low level stamden on Kyne recently.

Nightblades are really annoying there, they can't 1 shot you like vivec, but they just appear and reappear at will... it isn't too bad in that they can't actually kill you fast its just that you can't get them to go away.

I have taken to firing endless hail onto of my siege users to ward them off.

More skills that reveal characters in stealth seems like a good way to solve the frustration.

I think the current issue with NBs is that they have the highest dps and the highest burst and the best sustain. But... I'd still prefer buffs to the other classes.. Sorcs need to be doing more dps than NBs, Templars need better tankiness and CC so they can better fight in your face, MagDKs need more sustain.

DK: Sustain, Tankiness
Sorc: Dps, Shields
Temp: Healing and well the rest got nerfed.
NB: Burst, Sustain
Warden: Tanky, Healing

Actually, I would prefer the trade of ward/resolve for the shadow abilities to cleanse roots and snares. As a mag toon (for the moment) roots and snares are a huge issue. Our only counter for these is purge and this is not a real counter as it applies no immunity duration so if your in an AOE DOT snare you are still snared (this does not even mention the bloody cost of the thing). Mutagen, and similar class skills, that are supposed to remove negative effects, actually do not consider snares and roots negative effects. Similarly, twisting path, and other mobility skills, do not include a drop of root in the way that stam mobility skills do and so really do not grant any mobility in the root and snare mess that Cyr now is.

I know that you were not thinking mag blades anyway but I thought it would be interesting to throw in just what a bad state mag mobility is in and how that has effected mag Cyr toons. When my mNB can't get around you know how the mTemplars or mDK's would feel if there were any left. Most folks are switching to stam toons these days for very good reason. Stam has better mobility, better CC, better AOE, better single target, better intrinsic resistances, better and cheaper ultimates, and better sustain. The lack of shields, lesser (though not as much as it used to be) ranged damage, and less heals (unless your a warden or sorc) are a small price to pay.

As for the whole invisibility thing, if you had any mag toons left in Cyr they could run scorching flare (I know, nobody does though it is basically an insta kill for a nb who cloaks and gets caught) or, you could reveal and damage them with the ranged impulse morph. This is really effective BTW. I light up other poor sucker Nb's with flame ring all the time and it exposes + damages them. mNB's never get away from a group I am in. There are plenty of counters to going invisible with cloak.
