As a PC player I’m very happy to see these changes coming to pvp. Addons are out of control. We will still hve a plethora of addons that allow us to track our own buffs/debuffs and skills.

We don't know exactly what they've done so far . Miat's has had the API adjusted before but we were still left with issues afterwards . I am hopeful this time it will shut down the stealth attack notifications but reserving my applause until I've seen for sure .

Once this is banned everyone will cheer. And they anyone else who writes an addon that can do something very powerful will just keep it to themselves and their guild and not disclose it to the public like Miat did.

Say what you want about his addon, at least he went public with this particular one. How many more secrets are in the game?

Probably a fair amount, and shame on the people who use them. If someone needs to crutch off an addon or exploit to beat me then all the best to them. Thanks to Miat for making it public and hopefully thanks to ZOS for restricting the API so that addons are limited to personal buffs/debuffs, skills and other harmless qol improvements. When addons cross the line into providing enemy information that isn’t provided by the game already then they need to be shut down or there needs to be counterplay added, but that just gets so messy. Much simpler to just restrict the extent to which people can manipulate the game. Console players don’t seem to suffer from not having things like miats so why is it such a big deal for people to agree that it needs to go? Because they crutch off of it. Simple as that.

I don't think any good players crutch off Miat's . I know Miat doesn't need it to play . I simply miss the danger of the gank being present . Players live so long now with tanking being easier then ever in PVP . I believe we need more damage and gankers to slow the zergs down like it use to be . A lot of people left and I was one . Many went to new PVP games but not just because of Miat's but the direction ZoS was taking PVP and the lax attitude towards repairing broken things . Always the next update with them . Always months and months later . There is one competive campaign left on PC . We use to have three . It's time for ZoS to realize how damaging this is . I know Matt Firor know . I know Wheeler knows too . They see the changes on PC where it all started . They go from 10 million players to more realistic claims like 2 million active players across 3 platforms cause they know we know too .zos needs to make ESO the PVP we have been missing since performance tanked and everyone got squished into one major campaign and stop sugar coating things with nifty facts like amount of accounts created . Players want to play here . They just want some attention to the game they love and not mediocre anymore . 2018 is almost here ZoS so make it count this time an bring back the excitement and fix all these broken problems in the API .

Any use of any "I need some advantage" type of add-on in PvP game is an admit of failure. And even if it does not stuff like detects incoming attacks, even if this is "JUST" a better ui that gives more info - then you automatically have an advantage over "vanilla" player. Using such stuff is like saying:

"I am noob at this game, I refuse to learn of my mistakes and improve, I need an unfair handicap style
"help" to do anything at all."

This is just my opinion...

It is funny how some people justify this add-on by saying that the don't like NB and they think that this is broken class and they want to eliminate the possibility of being ganked... (btw. nobody likes beeing ganked - but after being ganked like 10 - 15 times I was able to learn how to not be ganked without any ad-ons). It is like someone would say "I don't like mag-sorc shield stacking - and made an add-on to somehow counter that. The point is - stealth is a part of the game. It is a mechanics that was designed by ZOS and implemented in ESO. It is a part of game rules. And when you created your eso account you accepted those rules.
