I like the rational approach Alcast is taking now with a wait and see attitude, the rest of them need to go find their safe space.

Alcast seems a little more upset than you are indicating here. Just sayin'. His cussing faded into head shaking and speechlessness a number of times-lol
Deltia and Alcast sound to me like they are both upset about the same things. And both extremely vocal about it. Alcast just cusses more
That's fine, if they did that 100% perfectly fine.Doctordarkspawn wrote: »No. I am sticking around because even when I disagree with the changes ZOS makes this game is still an escape for me from my life. I enjoy the game for what it is, and I love the friendships I've formed because of it.Deltia is right, people who stick around here are doing nothing but feeding one greedy ass company and have nobody else to blame except themselves. Leave TESO and level up in real life instead of funding the developers lifestyles! They're nothing but a bunch of leaches who sugar coat the money grab with edgy CGI movies and the illusion of change for the greater good. The community has very little input as proved over these passed 3 years and all the devs want from you is for you to waste your time here until the next wave of cash purchases become available (cosmetics and lottery crates) with the hope you become hooked on them and then spend more real life $$$.
I'm not going to quit because of some balance changes when every other area of the game I enjoy is still amazing.
He and no one here has any right to tell or look down on people if they continue to play or invest into the game.
He's abusing his position by asking his fans to leave/unsub from the game (if it's true he's been pushing that).
People need to stop sheeping after streamers and think for themselves, judge for yourself if this game is worth your time and money and by your own standards. Don't do something just because of someone else's views if you're not willing to question those views yourself.
After all that if this game really isn't for you, then feel free to leave or unsub, but FFS make your own choices in life.
Exept if they take in everyones opinion and come to the same conclusion as one of those big streamers, right?
Sometimes people really are swayed by someone elses positon, and it's no less valid when they are. Enough double standard.
If you however a streamer says jump and you jump and don't even question why you're jumping... Ugh...
I obviously post heavily opinionated views on the forums and debate from my side of things, but I hope it's never said that I am unwilling to admit I am wrong or concede a point when a better one is made.
I do my best to remain open-minded, which is why I understand all the current issues, am just annoyed and frustrated by the amount of BS being posted and promoted instead of rational thought and debate.

If you're looking for a competitive online game, ESO is not and will never be for you. There are far better balanced and created games for that content. ZOS made a choice to work towards story telling and questing as their main thing back with Thieves Guild.
I don't agree with all the changes made, but I will just get on with enjoying what's good in the game and it for what it is. When I want something the game isn't I find that elsewhere.
So, would you still pay real money to purchase something you don't agree with? Especially, with something as with being nerfed that lowers your enjoyment with such character(s)?

Deltia really is the best for new players. Very easy to digest. Very comfortable to watch. His site is also well done.
Alcast has an great site now, but isn't as charming in videos. I really like Alcast when he is annoyed though, like in a recent video about patch notes.
Of course, true hardcore ESO elites only watch Kevduit.

I am not concerned about them not listening to the players enough. I am more concerned about them listening to the players too much. I want them to have a vision, and execute on that vision. I would also like that vision to be the same vision each time they execute on it. If player suggestions align with that vision, I want them to take those suggestions. If the player is suggesting something that they think improves the game, but conflicts with the vision, I want ZOS to ignore it.
My interpretation of the most recent class changes is that they have decided that they lost their way and are returning to their vision. Through incremental changes, they have drifted. This is a course correction back to their vision.
Right now, I do not honestly believe that they are trying to make Warden an OP, must have, class in order to sell copies of Morrowind. I expect that the role of Warden, in terms of sales, rests in the special effects unique to the class, not how the skills perform relative to the other classes. For balance, I would be working really hard to make sure that the Warden was able to compete with the other classes so that people who buy Morrowind do not feel like they got ripped off, while making sure that the new class is not OP. It is a very narrow path, one that is complicated by the whole "pillar" thing that is impacting the other classes on top of the class balancing that is going on.
Sypher has left it seems. Now Deltia.
I'm not a huge fan of streamers. But they do have a very good handle on the mechanics of the game (and rightly so - it is their livelihood afterall). When the game is being so drastically altered that it makes these guys want to quit the game, then something is terribly wrong.
I'm not a huge fan of Deltia but I watched the above and I have to say that what he says makes a LOT of sense. I'm cancelling my sub and avoiding the game for the forseeable future. I'm not paying another cent to ZoS, for them to turn around and literally destroy my characters that I've spent YEARS creating and refining.
@ZoS - get your priorities straight. Stop alienating your playerbase and instead LISTEN to them. But you won't, will you? You just want the money.*sigh*

Okay.
If the idea didn't change every two or three months I'd be alot more perceptive, as it stands, their just rocking the boat for no reason. Lets design the game around DPS timers then nerf your ability to DPS.

What? There are a handful of dps timer mechanics in the PVE side of the game. RoM. Maybe the Swords in a Trial? That's it. VMA can be done with tank in Bahraha's/ Leeching while swinging heavy attacks and popping a shield, so it's not even a necessity there.
There's also a much more informative post on Reddit, too, where someone has shown that the spread and weighted distribution of the new CP will actually INCREASE base dps, even while factoring in the lower sustain.
DPS is going to go up, for those folks who can invest all their CP. It takes a few minutes to either read the patch notes, or to investigate baseless presumptions before assuming they're true, and people really need to start doing the latter because so many of you are being ridiculous. It's really embarassing for grown adults (I'm assuming) to be having these kind of tantrums. I've been guilty of this kind of behavior before, and that means that it's time for me to step away from whatever (suposedly fun) activity has subverted my pleasantness and civilty and turned me into a frothing idiot.
P.S. MMORPGs change the meta constantly. WoW reinvents itself with each expansion, and on a much grander scale than what ZoS is doing. I'm wondering how many MMORPGs many of you have actually played before.

1st was kind of an "eh. it's not so bad and everyone is affected by the nerfs. A bit questionable that magicka steal, helping hands, and siphoning gets nerfed yet dark deal doesn't but I guess I play my sorc if its that big of a deal."
Then I'm starting to go through and see what actually affects me personally and and my big concern is away from resource management as I play in non-CP Azuras anyway and I start looking at actual ability. I really started to feel like my mains of stamblade and magplar; I could make my stamblade still work. Magplars sustain will be down and major mending obviously hurt but what really looks to hurt is I notice major defile on a spammable AOE! I mean; sweeps in PvP is already asking for people to just step through you but having the health return is really a form of mitigation allowing my magplar to do melee for a while. That hurts. So I figure my magplar is now my PVE soloer which it has been and my stamblade can adjust and use the new 2 second dodge roll root immunity as a god send along with the nerf to gap closer spam, and my sorc can be leveled up for my magicka player.
Then I read through in detail the warden skills and began to theory craft. Stamina is a bit lack luster in general as well as warden itself with the lesser morphs but holly hell! Why should I play anything other than magicka warden? Only thing it doesn't have is bling like sorcs streak or a cloak. It has every other buff you could possibly want. Even major heroism.
I'm with Deltia on this. If you want to nerf everything then fine, but don't come up and spit on my cheesburger than try to sell me another one.

That is correct, everyone please remember to not disclose that you have been selected to test the Morrowind beta. This is considered an NDA violation.

But I see it for what it is - it's entertainment and what someone says shouldn't be what you base your judgement on.
I havent played Morrowind on PTS and I won't be able to try it out until it launches in June. I don't play ESO so I can reach some crazy endgame meta build. I play cause I enjoy the lore and the core content - PvP is just a plus to switch up the grind.
I'll make my own decisions on how well or how bad the game is when I get to play it. Not beforehand just because someone melts after reading patch notes on a patch that hasn't gone live and can and will be changed and tweaked.
...Your opinion fails to factor in how much these guys play, observe the balance of the game and their knowledge of it. They -have- to be, their livelyhood depends on it if they make something like this a fulltime job.
I think they might mean if a lot of his subs quit because of the patch, it hits his livelihood.grim_tactics wrote: »Doctordarkspawn wrote: »grim_tactics wrote: »Doctordarkspawn wrote: »austinwalter87ub17_ESO wrote: »grim_tactics wrote: »austinwalter87ub17_ESO wrote: »Shad0wfire99 wrote: »Shad0wfire99 wrote: »PelinalWhitestrake wrote: »He's streaming about this now.
This dude is a foul mouthed DB....If he want's to make a difference there are more noble causes than dropping the F bomb every five seconds over a video game.
He could be saying anything in any tone with any language and you'd be hating on him.
Yeah because it's all about the hate...
I interact with several different ESO streamers a couple I completely disagree with, but they can present their argument in a non hysterical way.
You called him a "drama queen twitpilot," whatever that is, in the very first comment you posted in this thread. Your bias against him is obvious. In your case, yeah, it's about the hate.
Whatever dude, he's having a full PTSD melt down on line right now over a video game, I think the guy needs help and I'm not saying that to be a jerk. I can tell you're a fan and if you care about the guy you should be concerned with his well being.
What you fail to understand is that ESO is the livelihood for people like Deltia. It has consumed much of his life for 3 years. Everyday.
You personally are unlikely to ever show such committment or investment.
Deltia has done tremendous work for ZOS. So much in fact that ZOS devs get a twinkle in their eye when he has something to say.
The way you talk about him, anonymous on the internet, makes you look like more of a d-bag.
Do you know him personally?
Deltia is a big boy and I'm sure he could stand up for himself if he gave two craps about what ppl say on a forum.
I mean, you've prob never met this guy and you're standing up for a complete stranger on a message board.
Because I'm a rational human being who can comprehend where Deltia is coming fro..
Exactly.
Do we know him personally? No, but we know him through his writing. He is not writing a novel, his writing is more like technical writing and with that, yes, we can actually 'know' him. From everything I have read on his site he seems to be a well thought out kind of man.
I have recently returned to ESO and spent quite a bit of time reading the internet on different aspects of ESO and found @Deltia work to be top notch. His work is clear and concise and covers a lot of ESO without saying 'this is the only way'.
And before I get flamed with 'play the game to learn' the first thing most everyone says is 'go watch a video before you get in a group ~insert any puggable content here~ So people can't have it both ways /rant on that BS
Basicly this.
People dont want to admit their game is flawed.
No, I'm saying I don't put much into what some streamer has to say.
They are just entertainment.

So you're saying his livelihood is being effected by a patch?
I don't see anything in the patch notes that states Deltia can't continue to streams ESO and give people ideas for builds.
I hear it's the best thing ever, they have Panda's.sneakymitchell wrote: »MotokoKusanagi34 wrote: »By the way: Deltia just confirmed in another Patreon post that he won't do ESO content creation past Morrowind and move on to other titles like Destiny 2, maybe Dark Souls etc. Definitely sad but he explained his reasoning and a lot of us owe a lot to him since he helped so many players with the game, builds, tactics etc. and is without a doubt the most well known and popular ESO player. Give credit where credit is due.
This is getting ridiculous.
Getting?
This guy leaped over a Hysterical cliff and took the constant complainers with him. I think most rational people are now seeing that all the teeth gnashing is mostly people wanting to play Drama queen.
I watched this "Slap in da fac3" mock outrage for years in the WoW community and we can all see the state of that game now due to Blizzard actually listening to that crap.
