It's sad to see someone with a big following and in the spotlight go, but as I've said his reasons seem just and everyone needs to step back from time to time.

I just hope people can stop using him to prop up arguments as to this patch being bad as there are other names like him who have shown they're giving feedback and adapting.

I love the game, but as my first MMO experience, I find it unhealthy. I feel compelled to advance my account. I waste time logging on to feed horses on alts I barely use and get hireling mails to add to stacks I never use. I spend most of my time doing things I don't really enjoy, like farming things to sell in guild store.

The funny thing about what you said is the last sentence.

My most relaxing times in ESO is jumping on and farming resource mats and selling them.

At the moment there isn't another game I really want to play and some nights when the wife goes to sleep I'll open a beer and just farm for an hour listening to music just chillin.

He's absolutely wrong, about the devs btw. They dont lisen even if you are positive. If they want it to stay in the game, it stays. The only way to make them change their minds now is hurting their bottom line.

I am not concerned about them not listening to the players enough. I am more concerned about them listening to the players too much. I want them to have a vision, and execute on that vision. I would also like that vision to be the same vision each time they execute on it. If player suggestions align with that vision, I want them to take those suggestions. If the player is suggesting something that they think improves the game, but conflicts with the vision, I want ZOS to ignore it.

My interpretation of the most recent class changes is that they have decided that they lost their way and are returning to their vision. Through incremental changes, they have drifted. This is a course correction back to their vision.

Right now, I do not honestly believe that they are trying to make Warden an OP, must have, class in order to sell copies of Morrowind. I expect that the role of Warden, in terms of sales, rests in the special effects unique to the class, not how the skills perform relative to the other classes. For balance, I would be working really hard to make sure that the Warden was able to compete with the other classes so that people who buy Morrowind do not feel like they got ripped off, while making sure that the new class is not OP. It is a very narrow path, one that is complicated by the whole "pillar" thing that is impacting the other classes on top of the class balancing that is going on.

    Okay.

If the idea didn't change every two or three months I'd be alot more perceptive, as it stands, their just rocking the boat for no reason. Lets design the game around DPS timers then nerf your ability to DPS.

What? There are a handful of dps timer mechanics in the PVE side of the game. RoM. Maybe the Swords in a Trial? That's it. VMA can be done with tank in Bahraha's/ Leeching while swinging heavy attacks and popping a shield, so it's not even a necessity there.

There's also a much more informative post on Reddit, too, where someone has shown that the spread and weighted distribution of the new CP will actually INCREASE base dps, even while factoring in the lower sustain.

DPS is going to go up, for those folks who can invest all their CP. It takes a few minutes to either read the patch notes, or to investigate baseless presumptions before assuming they're true, and people really need to start doing the latter because so many of you are being ridiculous. It's really embarassing for grown adults (I'm assuming) to be having these kind of tantrums. I've been guilty of this kind of behavior before, and that means that it's time for me to step away from whatever (suposedly fun) activity has subverted my pleasantness and civilty and turned me into a frothing idiot.

P.S. MMORPGs change the meta constantly. WoW reinvents itself with each expansion, and on a much grander scale than what ZoS is doing. I'm wondering how many MMORPGs many of you have actually played before.

Wrong. Wrong on almost every account.

There are multiple DPS timers. Skoria. Both SOTH dungeons, Lord Warden, I could go on and on, even Mobs so innane as the flesh atro's on ICP. Many fights are designed to where the longer you spend, the harder it gets, and that's the crux of the issue. The game was designed, newer content especially, around the sustain we had. And until I see patch notes lowering mob health or resistances, the center cannot hold at it's current form.

DPS isn't going to go up, and the content hasn't been edited for the current DPS level. So..

Also, I have played a few. And I've actually played WoW. Wanna know the difference between this game and WoW? Even when it edits how a class plays, how many abilities, you get the idea...you still learn by -playing the game-. You still learn almost everything piecemeal because of how WoW is setup.

Comparing this game to WoW only highlights how this games disconnect is terribad. You can crush dissent all you like, you can villify people with an opposing opinion, calling them children, crazy, what have you, but it dosent change that this game is eating itself alive.

Wrong? Hardly. Lord Warden does not have an enrage timer, I'm questioning if you know what that is. The fight can go on indefinitely. As well, the suggestion that Skoria (without the tome, which is an option) has a timer worth mentioning is erroneous. If it takes your group all five platforms and then some to burn the boss, no patch or reversal of nerfs will help you--there's a composition issue. Furthermore, Flesh Atros in ICP can and should be run past outside of the 2nd boss; and, if you have more than one or two that spawn during that fight, you've FAILED MECHANICS NOT A DPS CHECK. (Alternatively with great dps and a solid tank you can actually ignore mechanics and stack and burn whatever spawns).

Now that we've cleared that up, please cite these multiple dps timers which have, as you've said, been cemented into the foundation of the game.

Again, dps will be universally HIGHER with CP allocation in Morrowind, not lower--even though sustain will be down. Hop on PTS and see for yourself. I did. And the numbers are great.

    Exactly.
I'm developing a tank for PVE.
So last night I spent hours leveling a Resto staff, so I can level Assault in PVP, so I can have certain skills to do dungeons, so I can get Ebon armor (hopefully not "well Fitted"), so I can do the group dungeons & trials that sound like they might be fun someday....

Oh no not Deltia if he is concerned then it must be something.....

I like the rational approach Alcast is taking now with a wait and see attitude, the rest of them need to go find their safe space.

I have never seen such hair pulling and teeth gnashing from supposedly grownup people....it's kinda pathetic.

Alcast seems a little more upset than you are indicating here. Just sayin'. His cussing faded into head shaking and speechlessness a number of times-lol
Deltia and Alcast sound to me like they are both upset about the same things. And both extremely vocal about it. Alcast just cusses more ;)

In my defense not at the time I wrote that :-P But yeah.

Alcast seems to generally liked the CP changes. If I remember correctly, Alcast also didn't focus on Warden making other classes obsolete. He clearly didn't like the basing numbers on level and many of the nerfs. He also was very clear that we should not assume that the exact changes now would be what we see in June.

Deltia on the other hand is claiming all the classes can't compete now with warden, which seems like premature speculation.

you're focusing in on specifics/personality types more than i am. Overall-to my ears-they both seemed upset by over homogenization of the classes. Yeah-deltia did say he thought that it was due to their pushing the warden and alcast said he didn't think so, he just wanted to know what they WERE thinking with these changes and that they give no indication of their reasoning. The "big picture" message sounded the same to me though. ie: Homogenization of classes, massive changes all at once with no explanation

It seems like Deltia is just burned out of playing ESO. His point being he was getting addicted and neglecting his family and just being outside. I'm sure the new patch didn't help but my main is a Mageblade and it seems like I am going to have to abandon her for my MagSorc. I just have advanced so much further with my blade and I don't feel like redoing the Caldwells Quests again when I just completed it.

Whatever I will probably never quit ESO, but I am not a great player and I don't have any gold gear or weapons or any idea of how to build a character but I really love playing. I may not buy anything else DLC wise but I will always play. But I really don't get much time to play which is why I can't do any guild things or advance my builds.

Yes! Which led him to be like "you know what, I can't anymore with this" I'm kind of addicted to pvp to be honest I love playing in groups. But I don't get the chance to play much really, or as much as I want. Which is why I always want to play, and it is addicting. I can't imagine all the time and money Delt spent on this just to bail. But I don't do this for a living either he does I'm guessing? So it's a job and he is quitting his job.
