And that's just a quick summary of the discussions over on the PTS forums. This update is not being received well by the people playing even just the base game patch, and they're largely mirroring the negative commentary being made in these General Forums.

If ZOS doesn't majorly change or outright reverse 99% of the changes coming down the pipe for this game, the damage to this game is going to be severe.

Pretty much.

But then again, they wont care until their stock price drops enough.

I'm going to wait to see what morrowind introduces before I make any concrete decisions, I could just be seeing an incomplete picture. For all I know every change that I dislike will be offset by new features/gear ect.

But there have been lots of changes and additions in the past year or so that I don't necessarily like, or don't like how they're implemented (like timers, I understand their purpose, but I am not a fan) along with some periodic technical issues that do not come from my end, and I'm starting to feel like a year or two break might be in order. I was considering switching my sub to monthly or cancelling entirely before I even heard of any of these new changes. And there are other games that I have been thinking of trying/getting back into ect.

Sometimes I quit games just because I'm done, or I find something else that grips my attention, like when I switched over to ESO from the mmorpg I played before it (I always only play one mmorpg at a time).

For all the folks that like to puff yourselves up by disparaging others, when you accuse other people of spazzing out or whatever....well this isn't the first mmo and it's probably not your first mmo. You probably came here from another game, so go ahead and apply all of your one liners against yourselves (I know I know, "oh it was different when I quit those, my insults don't apply because I'm special!").

Everybody probably has a breaking point where they get bored with a game, or become more receptive to trying others out, it happens. Some folks slip out without a word and nobody ever finds out why, some people make noise (that may or may not be helpful) to try to combat whatever it is that is making them feel like leaving, and some people try to burn the house down on their way out.
I actively dislike streamers as a concept but honestly, if you're going to grant specific individuals more weight then the rest of the players, don't be surprised when they try to throw it around.

Then I read through in detail the warden skills and began to theory craft. Stamina is a bit lack luster in general as well as warden itself with the lesser morphs but holly hell! Why should I play anything other than magicka warden? Only thing it doesn't have is bling like sorcs streak or a cloak. It has every other buff you could possibly want. Even major heroism.

I'm with Deltia on this. If you want to nerf everything then fine, but don't come up and spit on my cheesburger than try to sell me another one.

That is correct, everyone please remember to not disclose that you have been selected to test the Morrowind beta. This is considered an NDA violation.

Whats sad is that its not like they havent been drawing in people that had gave it a pass or had never heard of it before. Since Console release Ive heard nothing but good things about the game from people that swore it off during beta. And Ive seen endless "Im new" threads on Reddit and elsewhere. Its not like they arent gaining new players regularly.

These patch notes suck, it will ruin the game if they keep them. No point in being max cp so all the time that I've put into this game will be for not.

You must be a Sorc or a Heavy Armor user then, sustain is very hard with Stamplar, Stamdk, Stamnb and Magicka DK if you don't use Heavy with those your sustain will be crap.

The solution is not nerfing Light and Medium, it's maybe easy for you to sustain but I invite you to try to have an infinite sustain will playing in small-scale or solo you will see that sustain is *** besides if you're a zerg player.

I am not going to lie I was pretty upset about the changes as well. It seems they are trying to say they don't NEED to balance separately for PVE and PVP because they added CC immunity to Mudcrabs... I mean I'm sure someone at ZOS actually believes that but in reality PVP is a TOTALLY different play style and strategic game than PVE.

The damage is different, mechanics like Befoul are different, the meta is different, the behavior, the goal, the resource use...

I am willing to accept that they just don't understand, but that is why it is important for us to get over being p'd off and try and talk some sense into them, because if they honestly believe that PVE and PVP work on the same set of rules there are only going to be more problems in the future, and CC-immune Mudcrabs ain't gonna solve it.

I agree though, best to take a deep breath, RELAX, and try and put things in perspective. As I tried to preface all my subsequent statements in my first post to these notes, Morrowind will still be AWESOME to explore, quest in, and play through, come what may.

Yes these changes look terrible and short-sighted. Maybe they will change again. We are human after all, not badly-written AI. We have the CAPACITY to change our minds based on rational thought, and being swayed by a convincing argument.

The best argument is backed up by FACTS. But there is also the HUMAN COMPONENT, the experience of players, the FEELING they have and what they take away from that experience, whether it was positive or negative, and you can't train a calculator to simulate that.

All you can tell an AI is who's opinion to try and replicate. They have no opinion of their own. No intuition. No FEELING. They are calculators.

So, take your time people, and try and change their minds.

I don't think the game is "ruined" by these changes. Harder, yes. I remember everyone telling me my Mag Sorc would be unplayable after the 6 sec shield nerf. I changed my rotation and did fine. My Stam DK tank didn't die with the stam nerf before and won't die now. I am definitely taking a wait and see attitude. ESO's death has been predicted over and over for the past three years, and yet here we are.

Deltia's video digging a grave was just drama, he is not leaving ESO.

He just got a money cow with a new class and tons of gear combos and Morrowind. That is his job security for at least 2 years with his baby, Maximus and family. He is acting sad, don't be fooled.

Deltia is a great guy, I watch all his content, but he is not a good actor. He was acting like pro wrestlers do before a match, a bunch of corny hype. I was waiting for him to break a 2x4 over his head or throw a chair.

Think about it Morrowind means tons of new players needing Deltia builds for their Warden, then after the warden nerf, he can go back to making the other classes relevant again.

Deltia is loving this!

I've only played ESO, but the things I have seen in the last 2 years makes me upset. A long time ago when they nerfed my vampire stam regen I cried like a baby. I had a very hard time adapting and almost quit. So guess what I did? I went searching for other games and found one that sounded interesting. I paid $450 for CU, and now am just waiting for beta 1. ( which is soon )

Did you see what I did there? I paid another company $450 dollars, and that money could have went to ESO. Changes do matter to me.

I would love to say ESO was the only game I ever played, but I don't think that is gong to happen.

I seriously hope ZOS doesn't unnecessarily nerf any class, Templar, Nightblade, or otherwise. "Class balance" is very important to any mmos overall health. Players should feel as if ANY of the classes is a viable class to play. Not just the shiny new one. Morrowind isn't live yet, so at this point we'll just have to wait and see. And if ZOS screws this pooch on this one, then we'll just take are time and money elsewhere.

At least most pro wrestlers these days get a bit of acting training to make what they seem believable.
