Just farm the 13 mil in mats. Is it fast? No, will be easy? No. I don't enjoy farming but Ive made 2 mil in 2 weeks and that's 2-3 hours of farming once a week. If you have the time to be a completionist and have the time to achievement hunt then you have the time to earn 13 mil gold. Will you do it in a day? No. Did you get Master Angler in a day? No. So there you go. [SNIp]

You made 2M in 4 to 6 hours of farming over 2 weeks? 500k gold a hour? PC or console? Thats 8.333K per minute.. Not saying you are a liar but I would like to know where I can farm nodes at a rate of 8.3k a minute.

When you played the game with enthusiasm and enjoyment, it was on the basis that you were looking to complete all the achievements covering your field of play. You were happy to exclude the PvP achievements as you don't commit fully to PvP.

So why not now adopt the same approach to the housing achievements? If you're either not interested or else not able within reasonable use of time and resources to complete those achievements then why can you not apply the same criteria to housing as you do to PvP? Housing isn't PvE content, it is neither PvE nor PvP but purely cosmetic content. Can you not still complete the PvE achievements only as that was always your aim and your chosen measure of success as a completionist?

I fully support the completionist approach and have enormous respect, for example, for the guy who is a Master Angler on all 12 of his characters. I can well understand why he wouldn't want to stop at 11 of them, but in your case you've already decided to aim only for the completion of the PvE achievements and the housing achievements are not relevant to that aim.

Meanwhile, I can also well understand why ZOS would want to give an achievement to those few who do complete everything in the housing field, just as I'd personally understand it if they introduced an achievement for getting Master Angler on all 12 characters - incidentally, I bet the guy let out a massive sigh when he saw that they're adding another couple of slots in June  !

I don't think it's unreasonable for developers to offer achievements for everything that can be done in the game, but I also don't think it's unreasonable for completionists to stick to the targets they've set themselves and in your case complete all the PvE achievements - which you can still do exactly as before without regard to the housing achievements as they don't relate strictly to PvE.

That's how I'd interpret it anyway, if I were in your shoes. It would enable me to still enjoy playing the game without feeling that I was letting myself down by not completing something that was never in the game when I set the parameters for judging my success in it.

Hi thank you for your response. However the community believes this is PVE. As pve and pvp are literally just pvp being Alliance and the rest PVE. Thank you for your comment.

I don't think the community does. "PvE" is Player versus Environment as opposed to "PvP" being Player versus Player. Both terms relate solely to the nature of combative encounters. There is no combative encounter in housing, it is purely cosmetic and is not required in relation to any PvE or PvP content. I can see that you could just about make the case for it relating to PvP because dueling is possible in the houses, but PvE combat isn't. I think that in order to maintain the reasonableness on your part that you look for from the developers, you have to bend a little.

Do you think fishing is a pve achievement?

If I got any achievement easily, it wouldn't be an achievement, it would just be something that everyone had, and therefore worthless.

But if this is a gripe about how it is going to take a hundred million years to get all the achievements, let me assure you that 100%ing the achievements in a game is NOT necessary in order to enjoy it. I've been gaming for long before achievements even existed, I enjoyed games without them, and I although I quite like them now they are here, I can live without 100%ing a game and still enjoy it. It's as though everyone wants some sort of award these days.

You obviously didn't watch as that is mentioned in the video.. Not everyone plays for the same reason. Its not hard to understand that people play for different reasons... pvp, pve, leader boards, achievements, social etc. So why think why YOU play is the ONLY reason people play...

Do you not understand the words "hard of hearing"? Perhaps I should spell it out for you, I am mostly DEAF and CANNOT HEAR the audio on that - please post some brief summary of what it is about.

My guess is OP is hard of seeing.

As for the video, can't watch with sound from where I am (will when I get home), but most achievements can be earned with fellow hunters by working together for much faster returns. If this comment is not on key with the videos issue will address later when I have watched.

Was unaware of the sound issue as its playing fine for me. I am not blind but I put up a thread with VIDEO in the title and someone wants a text file of what I am talking about. I dont need to do anything for him.

You certainly are a salty as hell. Sorry some achievements are hard as hell to obtain. It is what it is. 10th prestige in COD WAW, GoW seriously 3.0 come to mind. A few others I can't recall from the Halo series. If you want an achievement go get it, if you can't be bothered, then dont.

Starter islands, Xbox NA. Yes, markets are different across region & platforms. Right now on Xbox NA Raw mats are selling high(17-22k a stack for Ruby ore, even more for Ancestor silk) and obviously Spriggan's & Spinner's is going high. Find what sells right now on your platform and farm it to death.

Ok, I'm not trying to go all zen here, but literally if you want to climb a mountain, or start a big project, or go on a long journey - you have to take one step at a time.

Not saying I don't understand the feeling. Basically the reason why I did not go further with EVE online - it would have taken over 2 years for my pilot to learn to fly what I wanted to fly - I simply did not want to wait that long (you literally learn in real time, like your riding skills were etc).

You are either intimidated and give up - or you say challenge accepted. Or you don't stress about it, go about your merry way and then wonder what that achievement was that just popped up. Granted those are often "easier" ones.

For comparison, upgrading bag space for 8 characters including the horse costs over 1.5mill. I might as well fold right here, not.

Ok say that to the huge number of jobs people who cant see color cant do. You are calling me rude for not letting someone be rude to me and then say being color blind is nothing. I personally get along in life fine with it but it legit stops people from having jobs often.

OK, I've watched it with the autosubtitles - it is fairly mangled and was sometimes funny (I got "ecology bundle" as part of a sentence, and something about "Michael" at various points), and it's 14 minutes of my life that I'll never get back. but I managed to get that the gist of the thing is whine, whine, whine, whine. The entire thing looks as though it could have been condensed down to 3 minutes to be honest, there was an awful lot of repetition.

If you aren't having fun, just go do something else!

As much as you salivate on the idea of roasting a quitting thread... this is not one.. as stated in the original post.

Just look at it as a challenge then. I find it unreasonable to do anything just for a title or a skin. So I don't do it. I understand other people happily do whatever ZoS wants them to do just to colour a rectangle somewhere in the journal. But you can't really argue with the terms "reasonable" or "unreasonable" here. I'd rather make 100 Mio gold than getting Master Angler. But I won't do either, because it's just not fun to do and nothing I enable by enduring it is fun to do.

OK, I've watched it with the autosubtitles - it is fairly mangled and was sometimes funny (I got "ecology bundle" as part of a sentence, and something about "Michael" at various points, and it's 14 minutes of my life that I'll never get back. but I managed to get that the gist of the thing is whine, whine, whine, whine. The entire thing looks as though it could have been condensed down to 3 minutes to be honest, there was an awful lot of repetition.

If you aren't having fun, just go do something else!

3 years getting master angler title here - some things take a long time and a lot of input to get, live with it.

Are you a completionist? Please post a picture of 21k+ achivs or a reasonable picture of your completionist account in which you have gained this insight into knowing why every single person plays this game.

No, I'm honestly not as bothered as you are. Clearly. What does 21k+ achievement score give you? Does it matter? No.

    Exactly.

I dont pvp. However when pvpers said that proc sets are destroying pvp I did not go onto threads and say "who cares, I dont pvp".....

But if you are a complete completionist, why aren't you going for PvP achievements? That is what I don't understand - you've already come to the conclusion that some parts of the game are not for you, and are happy to disregard them. Yet this has got you in a stew, even though you apparently have enough gold to do it. That is what I don't understand.

You dont understand because you may lack the ability to understand that others play the game for reasons you dont derive as fun.

So what do you propose as solution?
    Removing several achievements?
(i have gone through 14 minutes of video, not reading all this thread again)

    Fair enough. Reasonable achievements.

1 MANOR for the achievement of owning a manor, not 3.
Not having to purchase 1.4M gold worth of houses you will never use to get achievements that have no "effort to worth gain" when you can purchase them with gold or real money voiding all "horay I did it" feeling.

Better yet, no more achivs that are added that are expanded to unreasonable amounts to have them say "Look at all this game play" when its nothing new and nothing of variety.

And yes, I will eventually get housing achievements and all other achievements, I just expect all of them to take a while and a lot of effort. If it didn't take time and effort, then it's just worthless. I *am* a completionist, but I am a completionist with patience and don't expect to get achievements within 48 hours of release.

I care about achieves, probably not as much as the OP but I try to fill them in as I play... this one is actually one that will be fairly easy, I have been selling stuff since the game launched and I had a nice in game bank balance up until yesterday. not so much now.... 9 down, 4 to go... so I don't think this is unreasonable but if you don't play in such a way as to generate gold then it must seem like a steep hill to climb.

As for 13 houses... agreed that I will not use them... 1 each for my 8 character slots would be plenty but I'll get the right ones for them and then get the 5 cheapest that remain.

Every metaphorical camel is going to reach that final straw at some point and I appreciate why this might be yours but I don't think this is especially unreachable compared to me ever getting to Grand Overlord in PvP or Flawless Conqueror in vMA.

Hi thank you for your comment.

its more about reasonable design and unreasonable design.

I guess I have to say that I don't see anything unreasonable here at this point. I can't even say anything about the fact that you can basically purchase everything with real money because that's how it works here for almost everything.

If you like it or not is a different story. Again I don't think EVE's approach is unreasonable, I just didn't agree with it at the time.

No one said money or fame.. i said you are a troll for traffic period, an probably shouldn't refer to yourself as a completionist when you whine like this about achievements.. it's supposed to be a lofty goal.. set small goals an keep buildin from there or quit.. no need to waste peoples time with a vid all agree could have been 1/3 as long :)

Try an have a nice day

Traffic for no reason? So you are saying that was not exactly focused on fame and money? Why would anyone want pure traffic... You wanted to make it out like I did this for attention. Which would be pointless. This effort would not be worth the minuscule monetary gain..

    Like I said.. pointless.

I don't want to be rude, but if you are suggesting that I post my "achievement journal" to give validity to my comments, I would suggest that you need to get out more.

No, I think fishing is one of the professions. Originally it was purely cosmetic, but like all the crafting ones, it's products can now be used in both PvE and PvP. However, it does not in itself form part of any combative encounter and is neither PvE nor PvP.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Player_versus_environment

I think you're confusing "PvE content" with "non-PvP content". The latter includes more than just the former, including cosmetic content such as crafting, fishing, and housing.

"here guys, here is 14 mins of me nonsensically whining, please click it to give me views and ad revenue."

Do you understand how revenue works on youtube? Do you understand how POINTLESS this video is in terms of real dollars.. Why would I want to make a few cents off of people after all this. This is obviously me wanting to say something and not for money...

*Rolls eyes* there are some of you in every MMO community, self important, crying about good click bait topics and popping em in a whine vid to pop em into whine threads, constantly reference the vid and pull out the ole reliable "did you even watch the vid" line. It's become quite transparent after seeing it for so long.
Props for not being as obvious about it as guys like lazy peon, but, that doesn't take that much effort.

And yes I know how YouTube works because I also run a channel that's monetized.

The video was superfluous, your point could have been made with text if you really just wanted to say something not for money, but I guess that wouldn't have gotten you any new traffic to your channel.

Pretty sure housing contains the only achievements you can get instantly for the right amount of crowns, which to me makes it less of an accomplishment, so why would you as a completionist even try for something like that? If they introduced:
    Master of the House
    • Spend 100,000 Crowns in one visit to the crown store

    would you even bother?

Pretend there's no kickass dye attached, because who can deny a good dye.
