What Trade System Would You Prefer?

The system as is, a global Auction House, a mobile Auction Horse, or Pawn Brokers in place of the current Guild Traders that everyone can access. Pawn Brokers would function similar to how Guild Traders do now except they would not be locked by a single Trade Guild.

One wayshrine in an area deamed safe for all factions to trade in. Traders circle around that wayshrine based on who bid the most and then on who bid first in case of same price bids. Everyone that bids the min amount or higher will get a trader, and every trader is in one local area.

✭✭✭✭✭Guild TradersI like the current system just fine. It enables different types of gameplay rarely seen in other games, adds a massive gold sink to the game and rewards effort.
I do feel the guild trade system needs a massive UI/Design overhaul however to make it more friendly to players searching for specific items. There are add-ons to help with this issue on PC but console players have no access to those.@Turelus - EU PC Megaserver

✭✭✭✭✭Global Auction HouseI'm not averse to the existing system being opened up so that those who either don't belong to a guild or else who's guild hasn't won a trader can at least sell a few items, but on the whole the guild trader system is far too restrictive for sellers and far too cumbersome for buyers. At the very least it needs a radical overhaul, although a different system would ultimately be better in my view and one that enabled every single player to participate in trading without artificial barriers such as guild membership. That's particularly important for casual sellers, people who just have a few surplus items available now and then.4 -

I wouldn't be opposed to guild traders existing alongside an auction house if the guilds feel they can offer a selection of goods over and above that which independents listing items on the AH are selling. Certainly the trader kiosks add life to the world.1

There are people for whom the economic game is interesting. I used to be one of these people (I no longer am, though), and I've met a lot of people like this. These are the kinds of people who would play games in the economic simulation genre. A central auction house is very utilitarian, which is good for people who just want to buy or sell something and be done with it. But it's boring and doesn't offer any sort of play for people who like economic games.
So it comes down to your mindset. Is in-game trading just a tool to help you get what you want? Or is it more than that--a game in and of itself to be played? As someone who used to fall in that category and who knows many people who do, I appreciate that depth that the guild trader system adds, even if it comes at the cost of convenience for people who just want to get a transaction done and over with.
On the other hand, I am a trade guild GM, and running a trade guild is stressful--I know a number of trade guild GMs who have stepped down or even left the game entirely because of it. And I dread Sunday nights. So a part of me wants to see the system abolished. Or at least reworked so that it can retain the flavor, but without the punishing stress of the current bidding system.Nightfighters ― PC/NA and PC/EU

1. Built in, very specific search features.
2. Small kiosks with limited selling per guild, where multiple smaller guilds can buy into and sell their wares. Maybe 10 slots per member
3. A broker npc who can search all guild traders for the item you want and tell you where to go to get it, or for an additional fee will retrieve the item for you and deliver it after its been procured ( a timer to make going to get the item yourself still a thing)
4. Unlimited sales slots in trade guilds

Basically, same as it is today, but you don't bid on specific traders, instead you bid on a location.
So, if Belkarth f.e. has 7 traders, then the 7 highest bids will get a trader in Belkarth.
I was also thinking: highest bid has highest trader pick priority. The Guild can have the option to "remember" the preferred trader in a specific location. If a new guild gets a trader in a specific location, they can only choose a trader from among those that aren't already taken by guilds that had higher bids.1 -

The problem is that people seem to only want to sale stuff to make money off others vs selling things that contribute to the progression of a select group.
Imagine just working on building up your guild instead of fighting for traders
no fees, just a group of 100-500 ppl with different interests trading among one another for a common goal.
For those who simply want to farm and sale....the traders are there and by design its a gold sink and limiting nature so as not to drastically decline the economy which would be the case with any global systems-PC (PTS)/Xbox One: NewBlacksmurf

We who don't get to play very often have almost no ability to sell our wares. It seriously takes away from the game a very large part of why some of us like MMOs

✭✭Guild TradersUnfortunately, the way the guild trader system currently works, we have a large number of traders in inconvenient and rarely traveled spots and a very small number in the top trading cities.
I'd love to see more traders added to each of the major towns, multiple traders added to the outlaw refuges in popular towns and perhaps move some of the NPC locations so they are all very close to a wayshrine. Would also be great if several guild traders were added to the towns in Cyrodiil such as Cropsford, Cheydinhal, Bruma, Vlastarus and Chorrol.
Buyers simply prefer to easily check several different traders next to a wayshrine. For example, I suspect Davon's Watch, Hollow City, Windhelm, Sentinel, Kvatch and Anvil would be a lot more popular if each of these areas had a few more traders.
Towns like Riften, Evermore and Abah's Landing could also be popular trading centers, except their traders are too far from the wayshrine.
And I think people are generally too lazy to walk over to the outlaw refuge entrance if they know there is only one trader inside. If outlaw refuges held around 3 to 5 traders each, people already shopping in Mournhold, Wayrest, Belkarth, Elden Root and Rawl-kha might be inclined to check them while they are already nearby.Edited by IcyDeadPeople on January 23, 2017 8:58PM5 -
