I really appreciate the extra effort put into the notes with the introduction of the Developer's comments. The added clarity and reasoning between Rich's recent posts and the addition of this truly warms my heart and brings a lot of excitement for future discussion and understanding between ZoS and the community. Kudos to you all for the truly massive improvements recently.

That being said, will this be the last stage of big(ger) class balance changes before Update 13 goes live, or can we look forward to some additional changes based on feedback to double test on the PTS? Mainly my concerns at the moment fall between both the Stamina Nightblade and Stamina Templar in primarily PvE application. The Nightblade class as a whole (outside of PvP) is really under performing for each and every role, leaving it entirely out of end game/competitive participation. If their respective feedback threads were to be commented in further, can we look forward to some additional balance changes, or at least comments going forward into the future?

Glad you found the comments useful!

We're still evaluating the overall balance, and will continue to do so after PTS is back online and we collect more feedback when you have a chance to test the changes. There likely won't be any large, sweeping changes at this point, though.

That said, we know everyone is very passionate about their classes, but please keep your comments constructive. If you'd like to see something changed, let us know and explain why. Hop onto the PTS and try out the changes we've made so far, and explain why you do or don't like some of the things you see. Also, keep in mind if we don't implement some of your feedback, it could be due to a number of reasons. Balance is one of those things that affect the entire game, and when we're working with four different classes, there's a lot to consider. We are reading, though, and appreciate the time you take writing out your thoughts.

No offense, "to test the changes" on NB point of view, nothing changed in this patch in both PVE and PVP, like no set changes, no skill changes except a little increase in ultimate cost at the PVP side, all the stuff that was already tested on PTS till now will be the same after this update. I know i should even stop trying to point this out, because it will still be same result in the end, but meh i'm kinda bored so wanted to point it out.

I like the changes and can't wait to test my builds for update 13! I think there is a lot that people asked for, and that's a good thing. Also like the developer comments, keep that.

I guess there will be a gap between stamina and magicka users now, but it has been the other way around for a while now and I can't understand the rage of everyone.

Love the dev comments with the class & ability changes. This kind of explanation and feedback is super helpful.

Also, there's a lot of anti-cancer in this patch and hopefully it will tone down the worst of it. RIP that new Trainee build I was working on, but at least I didn't buy the purple rings!

    Still missing:
    • CDB fix
    • Tremorscale needs to not work on players, but only on NPCs
    • Proc sets need not to stack, but share a cooldown or something

Rather disappointed with trainee nerf, it was one of the few things that wacky hybrid builds had going for them. Wasn't necessary IMHO.

Great changes overall. Developer comments are a really nice touch!

    Two issues:

Heavy might still be too tanky. I see steps being made to where damage is less in some situations for a Heavy user, but there are no changes that affect the ability of a character to be near invincible if they want to be. I understand it's supposed to be the tanky armor choice, but it should really just make you tankier not allow you to ignore 10 people beating on you like it's nothing.

You give a good reason for nerfing Trainee as it was not being used in the way you intended it to be. However, some creative builds were made using it that allowed for a semi-hybrid play style the game doesn't get to see otherwise. I find that unfortunate. The only true hybrid set in the game now is Pelinal's, and in order to use it you have to sacrifice so much that the bonus isn't worth it at that point. I think the main problem with Trainee was that you were able to get the items in best in slot traits like sharpened swords plus jewelry. Simply removing that option and changing current items owned by characters would have been a good enough change in my opinion as it is a big decision whether or not to give up sharpened or impen for the extra stats.

So no physical damage on crescent sweep now? Or was that just missed in the patch notes? @ZOS_GinaBruno

Also even though we saw most of them on the individual class feedback threads already, the developer comments are really nice. Helpful to know where you guys are coming from with some of the changes.

My Main is a Magplar but I don't like what happens to stamina. If most of the top gamers say stam is in a bad spot they might... you know be in a bad spot.
Please think about adding some stamina Regen and max Stamina into the 'have to wear five pieces' medium armor passives.
I suggested medium armor passives so heavy armor does not profit from it.

Wow. There I was thinking these were best patch notes I've seen in a long time, addressing a lot of issues; Heavy armor, specific sets and combinations, potion buffs, making changes to pvp without impacting pve (Destro ulti change), backed up by dev explanations (Really appreciated by the way).

Then I scroll down and see this. I really can not stress how making crescent physical when stamina has the already powerfully viable, low costing DB does nothing but remove a very viable burst ultimate from its magicka counterparts. (As I've argued on the official temp notes).

Why u mess up things you DONT NEED TO...

U ARE FUNNY REALLY FUNNY and putting love notes about your cheating us that why u have cheated on us:):):)

Curse was buffed and so were destro staves. Magsorcs are looking to be just as strong in PvP and even stronger in PvE next patch. What more do you want?

Curse : is nothing changed about PVP 3.5 secs after we will use it again so nothing changed...For pve i dont need to wait it to make acho i can apply it after 3.5 secs so nothing again:D... IT IS ALL SAME....

Destro Changes is all about ALL magicka Users not to specific to SORCERER........

SO nothing changed about SORC BALANCE

    Plays:
    Magicka SORC - PvE/PvP
    Stamina NB - PvE/PvP

    1. Increase Concealed Weapon damage by 20%
    2. Impale starts at 35%
    3. Stygian is changed to light armor or jewelry is changed to arcane. Seriously, this does not make any sense with the way you converted it for OT.
    4. Inner Light lets light weapon attacks for swords, etc. scale off of magicka and spell power.

Good changes! However, I would love to see a buff to medium amor and or anything else like it to pump up stam characters to the same strengh as magicka for both pve and pvp. Magicka is already outperforming stam in pve and pvp and will do even more after this patch. Buff medium, give us a shield, a new heal, or whatever (something new creative could be cool like throwing dawn a brick wall when on low health or a real health drain that actully steals a good amount from opponents or something donno lmao);)

it would be really cool if medium amor would be viable again so stam sorcs and dk choose to run around with instaed of running heavy. The problem is even with heavy nerf most ppl will still run it cause they are to squshy in medium. So far you kinda only see good or pro players running medium on stam classes

@ZOS_GinaBruno, have you considers reverting the changes to sets that proc on every tick of heavy attacks? It was a really fun thing and in no way overpowered, even if it was meant to work differently. It contributed to build diversity and I (and many others) liked it very much.

Would mean a lot to me if you could give me a little reasoning why the "fix" was necessary.

The usefulness of dodge rolling is also a concern of mine. For light armor you have damage shields (useful, and powerful in all situations). Heavy armor's main defensive tactic is blocking ( useful in almost all situations *cough* destro ult! *cough*). Medium armor however specializes in using dodge rolling which is become more and more useless as you make changes. Can't dodge AoEs, Channels, or Special ults such as meteor. And to add insult to injury, dodge rolling is the only defensive maneuver that gets punished with a 33% cost increase if you spam it.

I know Templars are going to hate me for suggesting this, but I think it would be a fair change if we only took the base damage (AoE/Tool tip) from jabs, and not the the 140% increase. This would make since because the 140% increase is against a single target whereas the base damage is the AoE damage.

Another suggestion I have is to double the benefits from the Champion System passive Phase; which currently grants 660 physical and spell resistance for 3 seconds. By doubling the defense, and duration of this CP passive; you'll make dodge rolling beneficial even if you unsuccessfully dodge your opponent's attack.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert

There are many excellent changes here, and I would like to thank both of you for your dedication to the community and monitoring feedback. There are a few things I'd like to touch on.

The changes to stamina templar are excellent. In PvP, the changes to jabs are going to allow stamplars to put out slightly higher burst, with the skill being undodgeable. The decreased cost on both jabs and javelin will help alleviate certain sustain issues, but I have a feeling sustain is still going to lower than every other class. I'm curious though; Jabs has been this way since launch? That seems like an awfully long time for a balance mistake on the end of the developers to go unaddressed...

My primary concern for stamplars is that they will still not be allowed in trials after this patch. If you would take time to examine the leaderboards, or the criteria top trial guilds use when recruiting stamina DPS, you will notice that Stamplar have no place in either of these things. The simple fact is that they do not produce DPS on par with the other classes, and do not have any unique buffs or debuffs to justify this lack of DPS to a raid group.

I would like you to seriously consider revamping at least one other skill, or perhaps any of the dawns wrath or restoring light passives, to better suit stamplar DPS, specifically. Cost reduction, ultimate generation, resource regeneration. Passives can be changed in just about any way to suit a subclass, especially the passives that are unused by both magick and stamina templar specs. As for an actual class skill, there are a number of unused skills in the templar trees that could be catered to stamplars. Many suggestions have been made, and I'm sure you're aware of them all (vampires bane, other morph of dark flare, any of the ultimates, restoring focus, etc). If something is not done to improve stamplar DPS or provide them with something worth bringing to a raid group, they will remain in the same PvE state as they are on live currently, after update 13.

Once again, thank you for your tireless efforts here on the forums. I hope that more changes will be considered.

But what the hell :D the backlash changes. I might play templar now, that thing is like daedric curse just 50% stronger and now it finally works against damage shields. Templars will be lethal in pvp now, when played right. Templar is no longer the last light when it comes to burst damage.

Still doesn't crit above the cap value it shows in the tooltip... so it's different than daedric.. daedric will have more burst potential.

@ZOS_GinaBruno awesome new way of doing the notes with the commentary, it really helps

That said, can we get some of the same insight on the Coag Blood change? As it stands right now, the change really doesn't make any sense. Having no magicka to get a decent heal is incredibly situational and wont be helpful when it is needed most (gank attempts), after GTFOing from an EoTS ball.

I mean in a situation where as a magicka character I could get a more reliable heal WHEN I need it with vigor... ?
