Had the same problem.

This fixed it for me: Got to server selection, select LIVE, accept. Switch back to Live EU, accept and login.

Did you select EU once you're at the login screen?

Yes I selected EU..... then it loaded my NA chars.

1) Select Live-EU
2) Wait a few minutes UNTIL THE MESSAGE AT THE BOTTOM SAYS EUROPEAN SERVER
3) Wait a minute more (Occasionally it flicks back)
4) If it stays log in and characters are present

@ZOS_GinaBruno : The above seems to be the solution. It seems that the setting for server selection is not set properly when selecting Live-EU from the get go.

login on LIVE server to character list, thel logout and select LIVE EU. Problem will resolved

Ok. Try this:

When you click on EU at the login screen, just wait at that screen until you see the MOTD switch to reference EU. When we tried it here, it took about 3-4 minutes.

Let us know if that works?

Yup, same thing here. Everything is acting as if game is brand new. It started by wanting mail code confirm because i "had not previously logged on from this PC" - or whatever. Then intro plays, as it only does first time on install. Then Character Creation.

On LIve-EU. Not PTS.

Wow. Hope we get a fix soon...

Tried about 10 times now to get into the game, but it immediately sends me to the character creation as if I've never made a character. I know of several others experiencing the issue.
How long till this is fixed?

This worked for me! Thank god! Was terrified for a few mins there when I was being asked to make a new character!

I think i have identified the issue.

It's related to addons, i was having this issue, then i relaunched the launcher and it asked me something about the addons, and i've chosen EU.

EDIT:

I start the game and it loads my characters, however it changes the live folder to "live_archive" and the addons are gone, i copy the addons folder back and i'm presented with a CGI Video and the Character Creation after.

Don't make me redownload and reconfigure my addons again, i'd rather stop playing.

What worked for me was putting NA as the preferred server in the client, and then choosing EU on the loginscreen, hope it helps.

Yes, but it also says NA under the announcements - try waiting a few minutes on that screen to see if that changes to EU and then try logging in after that change (if it changes).

Short version for other players: I restarted several times and it finally worked. Switching to just Live and back may have helped.

Long version in case it helps bug hunting:

I started the game before the servers were online, was asked to choose my default server and chose EU (I have characters on both but use this one most), then tried to log in but couldn't, because the servers were down. I closed the game and launcher completely and waited until the servers came online.

Then I logged in without checking which server was selected. It took longer than usual and then I found I'd logged into the US server. I closed the game (using the X in the corner of the window), restarted the launcher and loaded the game, made sure I had EU selected, logged in and it was still showing me my US character.

I shut down again and restarted, this time I switched to Live, logged in and (as expected) got my US character. I logged into the character (briefly checked her inventory), logged back out to the character select screen and shut the game down. When I restarted I switched to Live-EU and this time it logged me into the correct server.
