Does this mean that when we get p-ed off that we have to put on the kid gloves in a rated M game, some of us are are life time fans of this series I personally have been playing TES for 15 out of my 21 years. One thing I can tell you smart ass comments, back talk and a general Superiority Complex is nothing new to TES universe to take that away in favor of kid gloves and the series we loss a piece of it's self

M rated does not mean total anarchy. These forums are private domain, and are not within the role playing setting of the game itself. If the company choose to enforce a different ruleset here, your choices are to comply or not participate. you have no rights to free speech in what is considered private domain.

But being respectful works both ways, just wish you guys would put up coming updates in writing and that does not mean in patch notes. Also to put a FAQ where you really answer the hard questions that have/are being asked.

Any chance we can get increased DEV responses to questions the community has that have gone unanswered for a year?

Honestly at this point I would settle for a D icon for dev response, and a M for moderator response, instead of just the generic Z

This game is laughably moderated. I understand we want people to feel welcome here, but I feel like I'm on a club penguin forum with how touchy some mods get.

Its nothing personal towards any mod in general, I am in a moderation role on another site and know you have to enforce the rules once they are written whether you agree with them or not.

It is very hard to moderate. Smaller games are easier but this game would be very hard. Players seem to think they have freedom of speech because their countries tell them they do. That just isnt true though on websites and forums. They have only as much freedom of speech as the moderators allow them.

And for moderating you have to judge what is best for the community. A player posting massive negativity has great potential to scare off new players or old players. A happy community works for everyone and thats where mods have it hard to draw that line from where its before scaring off others to sharing good info or feedback. Forums arnt for drama though so most things negative are best to be discussed privately without drawing in other players and causing a snowball to turn into an avalanche. Unfortunately most times massive negativity is posted is by trolls trying to cause the avalanche.

Cut it too short and the mod is over bearing... cut it too long and it creates needless drama and angst in the forums.
If you think the problem is everyone else you may want to rethink the issue.

Where can I make a post to make suggestions, where I can get feedback from other people on the forums, and where ZOS can also see it? I had a few suggestions about different topics, crafting, mail and banking for example...do I need to post them in different places or is there a suggestion thread somewhere that I'm missing?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but even though I saw a Crown Store wishlist, I couldn't find anything similar for basic game wishlists or suggestions.

If I may advise to not only increase moderation, but developer and CSR participation as well. I am certain this would help much more in fostering a healthy community than any crack down on trolls.
We completely agree. Once the dust settles a bit from this change of direction, you should expect to see increased participation from the developers. They would love to chime into constructive threads and provide some feedback!

Posted in February - so this is 6 months later....

Developers are rarely (never) on the forums.

Yes I'm necroing this thread to ask what happened to the increased participation. Did you unsticky this because you gave up on that goal? If anything the lack of participation has gotten REALLY bad.

This may entice me to return to the forum...

Edit: If this is addressed, I mean.

Edit 2: It may also entice me to return to the game and sub. But only if I feel I'm valued as a customer and listened to.

We completely agree. Once the dust settles a bit from this change of direction, you should expect to see increased participation from the developers. They would love to chime into constructive threads and provide some feedback!

With all due respect, do you ever plan to follow-up on that @ZOS_GinaBruno? It has been a year since this post. There is little to no dev interaction on the forums, not even on the PTS subsection (and no, opening a thread and then not participating in it does not count as participation @Wrobel). Or are you saying none of the threads on the entire forum are constructive? There is a 70 pages long thread on PTS full of frustrated templar players working hard to provide feedback and we are craving for a dev to come in and acknowledge our concerns. Admittedly not all the posts in there are constructive, but out of the 2000+ surely some are? Can't we get atleast get a /lurk from a developer so se know a developer is reading the thread? I know the mods are as they quickly put us in our place when we get too rowdy. Sadly it seems that is all the interaction ZOS has with the players on the forums.

If you do not plan to follow up on this promise, then it is just another one in many you have broken in the past. I'm sorry, but we both know it's true. We, your paying customers don't really like it when you treat us like that. You expect us to uphold the standards of good behaviour you set in place to foster healthy and good discussions, and that makes sense. But at the same time you do not follow up on your part in this, which is the developer interaction.

I know I myself am not always "the upstanding citizen" of forum communication. I am frustrated and annoyed by the lack of understanding for your playerbase. I am cynical about anything I you say as it often turns out to be untrue (spellcrafting for one) and I am very pessimistic about the future of this game because of it - and it definetly shows in my behaviour on the forums. And I am sure I'm not the only one that feels this way.

So please ZOS, help us help you! You want healthy, constructive discussions about the game? There are tens of thousands of players that want the same. So I beg of you, game developers, especially the team in charge of combat and class balance, come participate on the forums. Tell us the logic behind changes that cause an uproar in the playerbase so we might understand and provide more insightful feedback.

Please, acknowledge your playerbase. Tell us you understand our frustrations. Listen to us vent. And then try to remedy them with the knowledge gained through the player-dev interraction, which I assure you is going to be superior than what we have now.

    Thank you!
