As explained in the forum rules, we do not allow disciplinary actions to be discussed on the forums. If you want additional information on why you were moderated, or wish to dispute moderation, you can submit an appeals ticket.here.

Disciplinary actions are private, and we will not share whether we have actioned someone, or how, with other people. This restriction has been expanded to everyone since public discussion tends to attract problems, and we cannot comment to confirm, deny, or clarify. Some posts have been removed.

Enforce the rules so ZOS can clear "criticism" against the company and its game? Thats the oldest trick in the book.

Looking around the forums I see a lot of criticism. I'd have to say, if we're trying to clamp down on this or hide it we aren't succeeding.

Criticism is welcomed, but it needs to be civil and constructive. Being respectful is one of the basic themes reiterated in the forum rules. It is fine to critique the game, it is fine to refute ideas and suggestions of others, it is fine to debate - but it all needs to be done in a respectful manner.

Regardless of one's opinions, if someone starts attacking others we will moderate them. We've even had people dispute moderation because "I was just defending the game," and that isn't a legitimate excuse.

Can u at least notify us when you remove our comments so I can properly report it and ask why it was removed. My comment about talking about not talking about disciplinary actions was removed and I would like to know why? I hope I didn't break forum rules by asking this publicly, I'm just little confused and since the comment was removed I forgot exactly what was said. Im requesting clarification so I don't make this mistake in the future.

What's that got to do with this discussion?

In this regards I have a question about threads/comments which seem to be off-topic (because they are not directly related to the game), but are helpful with the social aspects of the community. I kind of like those, where I get to know something about the person behind the avatar in this forum. It makes me feel emphatic to this person and helps me to communicate. Will such "social" contents, which might seem to be off-topic, be banable in future?- It would be quite sad, if this would be the case.

I am with you about slightly off topic comments. It would indeed be sad if we were no longer allowed to post like that.Just some comments are out of the blue and a bit confusing as to what the person means.

Under these rules, what can be reasonably done about members gaslighting or playing the victim card when confronted with constructive criticism, in an attempt to discredit the criticizer? Would this fall under any specific rule, such as derailing a thread, or constitute a personal attack on the criticizer?

Players who do this are in every way as disruptive as those who openly and personally attack others.

All well and good, but there are a lot of us out here in forum land that aren't programmers and have only a layman's understanding of the process of game creation.....so therefore we cannot be "constructive" in our criticism. All we can say is "No sir, I don't like it at all."

Isn't that good enough? Why can"t I just express my dissatisfaction with the game and not fear for moderation of my post? Worse yet, because I(or anyone, for that matter) cannot adequately express what is wrong in technical terms, our dissatisfaction is denigrated and downplayed.

Also, interpretation. What I say is subject to someone else's "filter" (for lack of a better word to explain) and what THEY interpret is most certainly NOT what I meant, yet it seems that only the offended person's point counts in this argument.....because heaven forbid someone should be offended and nothing get done about it. Some people NEED to be offended, so they hunt out any little thing to get their jollies. Other people just need to be offended because they don't subscribe to DBAD.

Bottom line of all this? I'm still going to speak my mind, regardless of what "consequences" there are on a game forum.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.
