I dont understand why people say that the set will be situational. It has perfect stats for a stamina based reg build and will be good in every situation, especially on a stam dk with fossilize
If i fossilize someone and he doesn't instantly break it, he's gonna eat two unblocked wrecking blows, not a light attack with 2K damage attached...
Any decent player would use at least one light attack in that rotation...
You would have to start the rotation with a light attack, or the first WB would remove the fossilize shield(nullifying your set bonus). Leading with a LA will give the fossilized enemy a split second more time to CC break and block before the first WB lands.
I am not sure i would risk the enemy successfully blocking my WB for a mere 2K extra damage. Not to mention you have to sacrifice your 5-piece set bonus to be able to take that risk in the firstplace.I dont understand why people say that the set will be situational. Not understanding that one. Why waste a light attack after a wrecking blow when you could wreck them again?
Fossilize -> light attack -> Wrecking Blow -> Wrecking Blow, pretty obvious actually.
Or chain into a leap with Fossilize -> light attack -> Wrecking Blow -> Dragon Leap.
2H LA will mostly brake fozzil

That would still be hugely efficient when fighting magicka builds and it would be more efficient the more your opponent shield stacks. But it would not screw over everyone who got a tiny shield from a passive or form a friendly DKs Igneous shield or whatever.
Oh and then the name shield breaker would match what the set would actually be doing.
That wont fix the shieldspamming issue
If you can't kill a shield-spammer with all that extra DPS then I'm afraid the problem is between the chair and the keyboard.
If you manage to kill a sorc then he just sucks 1v1. You literally cannot kill sorcs that know how to spam shields.
lol. Duels happen every day, Sorcs still die.
I can built any class / any build and survive a 1v1 by going 100% defense. Whether that is a heavy armor perma-blocker or a medium armor perma-dodger vigor spammer, or a light armor shield spammer. As soon as you decide to go offensive gaps open up, that's how duels work.
I'm not here to say shields are not very strong at the moment. But the way you present facts is both wrong and shows an agenda.
Every thread / post you make at the moment is full of QQ and bias. Take a chill pill.

It´s like ppl in heavy armor permablocking complain they can´t kill a single sorc. Well in reality a single sorc can´t kill them either...
Omg you embarrass yourself and your class. You just admitted that the light armor sorc is as tanky as the heavy Armor, wait for it, TANK.
On top of that you are wrong. Sorcs have zero problems killing tanks. No other class has that high DPS, tankiness, and mobility all rolled in one. Cry and throw smoke bombs as much as you want but the masses have spoken. You are a OP class that are being brought back down, closer, to the rest of us.
Don't worry though. All that crying worked. They didn't fix the real problem. HARDENED WARD scaling off magicka. Some day maybe

5x 35% Reduction Set, 2x Kena, 3x Agility and for the other two slots maybe 2pc Wpndmg.
That's quite some Wpndmg as soon as Kena procs and with heavy armor, reduction set and S&B (15% dmg reduction) it does exactly what you said.
Barely watched the clips tho, so I'm not sure about the usage of reduction set, but it's capable of doing the same stuff.
Being tanky is nothing special with the current patch.

If only you knew .... there are builds floating around PTS right now that are far more tanky and do more damage than the 1.6 sorc. Wait and see.... Sypher encountered one in his stream the other night .... they wouldn't share the build though. I believe the guy was running a DK.
Actually it was; 5x heavy Armor master (with prismatic enchants) Light shoulders/Heavy Helm Engine Guardian 3X Agility 2X Endurance.
It's actually tanky as all hell and great dps. 32k/32k Spell and Armor, sporting 2500 (1h/s) 2700 (2h) weapon damage. Quite a fun spec.
Yes, armor master would've been the other option.
Wouldn't run engine guardian tho and instead use either 2x Kena or 1x Kena and something else instead.

Yes, this is more along the lines of what I was thinking. I suppose you could use the bloodspawn set for even more mitigation. I am betting he was running immovable as his armor skill.
Naw he was running shuffle. The NB will have to run Immovable though
Sorry, been awhile since I ran my DK. What skill was giving him major? Was he running spiked armor?

Gotta run the guardian set to perma block, as casting Igneous for stamina return gets costly.
I have not been able to test it myself, but apparently, this set is not working as intended. It's unresistable damage applies on -everything- not just shields.
You can spam light attacks on someone blocking, and do the tool-tip stated unresistable damage with light and heavy attacks. If this is the case, then this set is broken and is in urgent need of fixing before it gets exploited as the new meta.
Good for the DK, then it'll hit harder and cc the opponent. What else could one wish for lol.

Because Luminous Shards still don't, so it's not all disorients.

This is what he was using:
-5 piece Medium Armour Master (For stamina Recovery) [He only blocked when he needed to]
-2 piece heavy (engine guardian)[reinforced]
-Lady Mundus Stone with all 5 Divine's
-All prismatic tri stat enchant's
-He was using Evasion + Immovable
-Puncture (for Minor Armour buff)
All you get from heavy is 20% extra block and some health, he has to of been wearing medium for his damage to be so high. If he ever got low on stamina he would just use is Leap ult with Shield and stop blocking until he fully regen'd.
With 5 medium he had pretty good damage and since he had divine's on the medium piece's he could still get a lot of Armour.
.
.
.
.
Even when he wasn't blocking, the damage being done was little to none, he wasn't really perma blocking like people think. He was just stacking so much Armour that damage was already so low, then he could mass heal with rally and vigor. Enginee Guard kept his stamina up. He already had good stamina recovery with medium.
It was the most boring fight i've ever watched. The whole build relied on using leap when your stamina was low to regen then block the heavy hit's. Then just re-applie buff's.
To be honest the build suck's when you have more then 1 person on you. It's just 1v1 dominate because he can't be killed by one person alone.

I'm certainly gonna use it for any type of Stamina open world PvP. I used it on PTS for ~30 minutes and I had so much fun roflstomping anybody using a shield, I usually didn't even have to try.
I think that speaks more to the people you fought in that 30 min
I'm planning to make a video tomorrow, so you'll be able to check yourself.
that would be great! As long as it is not as ridiculous as the video posted previously which really did not show anything and was very skewed. Hopefully it will showing testing in an actual fight scenario and what not.
look forward to it. I like to see others gameplay experience. I am well aware that my experiences are not end all be all.

I only found one Sorcerer willing to fight me. Regarding other builds using shields, against DK's or Templar's it doesn't really matter because the shield is too small in relation to their HP, anybody using Healing Ward/Harness Magicka is however +/- dead as long as I can attack them (i.e. they aren't roll dodging/cloaking)
