    One bjorked patch? Seriously?
Have you been here since beta?

At this point it's a culmination of things that may have lead to the freeing up of 35GB+ on my HDD. There are far too many great games out at the moment that actually work and stuff. Hopefully by the time Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild is out things are more polished.

It seems to me that it would be a good idea for ZOS to set up a separate server, open for all, where players have the option of copying over their existing characters from the live servers, and where upcoming changes can be tested in a "semi-live" environment before applying them to the live servers. I dunno, maybe they could Call it the "Public Test Server" or something? Just a crazy thought, I Guess...

Why not just call it the "live server". Woooo..... Mind blown....

Hi everyone, we'd like to address the concerns with the change we recently made to experience points and gaining Veteran Levels. Update 5 introduced a new system where all Veteran Points were converted to use XP instead, as part of our phased rollout of the Champion System. The plan was for this to reduce the amount of time it would take to gain a Veteran Rank. However, we discovered an issue where you are not currently gaining as much XP as we intended. Fixing this issue is one of our top priorities. We are currently aiming to have this fixed in our next incremental patch, which will allow you to progress though Veteran Ranks at a faster rate than what you’re currently seeing in-game. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Yet more crass ineptitude. How the hell did this make it 'live'?

    No, seriously, HOW?

This is part of the core change you're making to the game in order to make it appealing to more than the trivially small percentage of the hardcore elitists who like that the 'casuals' don't get to see what they do.

Given that, I'd have expected that a well-run development group would make damned sure nothing as basic as this left a programmer's work-station, let-alone made it into a release build.

And you're going to fix it "in the next incremental update"?

    HOTFIX IT!

It's screwing over probably hundreds of thousands of players whose progress has hit a brick wall due to this, 3 zones to level 1 VR (as is being reported by many) is beyond asinine.

This is a complete game stopper -- No one should be playing a vr toon if it is not already vr14 -- not only are you wasting your time but you are screwing yourself because the loss xp is just that LOST. This had better be fixed soon because the longer it takes the more population you will lose.

This is a critically important point ZOS!

Anyone grinding from now till you deign to get out of bed and fix it is PERMANENTLY SCREWED, they can't replay and get back the XP they lost.

It's not like progress is simply slowed for a time, it's permanently borked, once all the zone quests are complete the only thing left is the horrible XP grind everyone was already facing, but now will be HUGELY WORSE to get back the tens/hundreds/millions of XP that will be lost due to this.

So if my 5 million points needed to lv was cut down to 1.5million. So lets just say we only need to make 1/3 of the points.
    YET
We are making 1/8th of the xp/vp we USED to make.. THEN

ZOS you have in no way helped speed up the veteran leveling process, you've just made it several times harder.

I am upset about the change in experience rewards as well.

I am currently VR13 and sure I now only need 1.4 million experience to VR14 compared to the 5+ million veteran points I needed before the patch, but at the same time the gain of experience compared to what I need to level is much lower than the veteran points I needed.

Before patch I would for example get 37.000 veteran points for a boss kill in either open world or dungeon. Now I get around 500 experience points.
I needed 5+ million veteran points to level, getting 37.000 per kill, meaning I would have to kill about 135 bosses. Now I need 1.4 million experience and I get 500 per boss kill, meaning I would have to kill 2800 bosses!

Before patch I would get around 100.000 veteran points for completing a quest in a Craglorn dungeon. Now I get 7500 experience points.
So before I would have to do 50 dungeon quests to gain a level, now I have to do 187.

    This is not okay!

Nice work here, this is ***, at this rate we will never level.

The fact that someone f-ed up with some simple math, I'm ok with.
But the fact that this made it all the way from alpha testing (was there one?) to PTS (where this bug was reported at least by Dagoth_Rac
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/136087/gaining-xp-on-pts-vet-content-versus-gaining-vp-in-vet-content-on-live
    )
and after that even all the way to LIVE, is unacceptable.
I get it, developers make mistakes, but what about "ZOS reads and listens"?
Please read more carefully and take action in case of such basic problems.

I appreciate Gina's answer to this thread and that this problem is being addressed. I guess we should avoid gaining exp meanwhile because I don't see us (the players) being reimbursed for the exp we should have gained during this bug. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

It's screwing over probably hundreds of thousands of players

I think that is overestimating the number of active players by quite a wide margin.

Even if there were hundreds of thousands of subscribers (which I seriously doubt), not many of those are actually doing the Cadwell's Silver and Gold quests and getting hit by this bug. Seeing how empty the VR zones are with every login regardless of the time of day or the day of the week, I would say that no more than a few thousand people are working their way through VR zones at the moment. Only the lvl 1-50 zones seem to be attracting any significant crowds.

I was questing with two different VR characters, but now I stopped to pick some flowers until the next patch. There's no way I'm going to keep playing with this bug.

As already mentioned by others, bugs in the latest Patch were also on the PTS and still made it to the live. So that begs the question why have a PTS if the feedback is not listened to!

My probably was hedging my bets, clearly no one knows the number of players the game has but even if it's only tens of thousands that are affected (and that's easy to imagine) then it's still a totally unacceptable situation and ZOS lethargic response is equally unacceptable.

I've never felt a need to post any sort of unhappy rant since playing ESO beginning at launch. I'm still actually not "unhappy" about the negative impact on VR non-14 character progression. I understand that running an MMO the size and scope of ESO is daunting and that as a player, patience is required. Would I like to see every problem or issue fixed immediately? Of course I would. Is that realistic? I don't think it is. This game was years in development and is constantly evolving. I'm grateful for the work that all those behind the scenes do to make my playtime feel worthwhile. I have no doubt that all of the posts concerning the last update will be read and addressed as they have been all along. Remember, it's easy to be critical of things without all of the information in front of you. So before you uncork and slam the folks at ZOS, try to think of the bigger picture that they're working on to earn our subscriptions. Thank you.

So any indication of when 1.5.3 will roll out? It's almost weekend and it's still not fixed. I don't have a lot of time to play and only play on weekends. I don't want to play while this is broken as it would be a waste of time. It's also time wasted on my sub - will you be giving extra days sub equal to the amount of time it takes to fix this?

So if I have a VR5 do I even bother leveling him? As a matter of fact, why do I have to ask that question? I should have received an explicit warning from ZOS as to the xp return from quests. Saying that you'll fix it without thoroughly explaining what is broken is misleading and opportunistic.

    I'm VR5.
I'm standing outside the VR5 public dungeon The Vile Manse.
Right outside there are VR5 Senche Tigers. These yield 434 XP.
Inside the public dungeons there are groups of 5-6 VR5 humanoid mobs. These yield 82 xp... much like the skeevers that are also outside.
