An interesting video, but assumptions are the mother of all failures.

I think it would be foolish to make the guilds pvp-focused, as this would exclude pve players from Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild.

I didn't say they'd be PvP focused. I said, the tasks they will ask you to do will more than likely be criminal activity. Therefore, upping your standing with the guild and completing their quest lines will likely involve the risk of accumulating a bounty.
Other Guilds give you quests which involve the risk of being killed by NPCs, these ones will involve the risk of being flagged for PvP and killed by other players. It's not different, so long as the Bounty clears once you've been killed and you become unflagged.
It's still PvE content as long as they're only asking you to kill/steal from NPCs, it's just a slightly different version of the same risk of death. But then, that's what a life of crime gets ya.

No it wouldn't be PVE content because of how the justice system works. The justice system is pvp content, and tying in two guilds to pvp wouldn't be well-received by most players.

It's only PvP if you get caught.
At least, that's how it should work. You should only accumulate bounty if a witness spots you committing a crime. Being killed should clear it, and there should be NPCs you can pay to clear your name. So, yeah, I guess you could say it's "PvP" content... but only for one kill. You take the exact same risk everytime you fight -anything-.
It's not as if you get caught stealing a sweetroll you'll be flagged for PvP forever.

It's still pvp as far as the pve crowd is concerned. Being forced into a situation that could easily turn into pvp (if stealing) or definitely will flag a player for pvp (if killing an NPC) is pvp.

Alright. Call it what you will.
I suspect the Justice System, Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild are going to leave you a very disappointed girl.
In fact, write this down so I don't forget, I'll put 25,000 Gold (to you, exclusively) on the idea that both the Dark brotherhood -and- the Theives Guild require you to engage in criminal activity in order to either advance your rank or complete the quest line.

This means when people attack the banker or nearby NPCs we will get knocked out of the banking window.
It will probably add points to commit crime in the same fashion that the Lore Books add to the Mages Guild level. It may be entirely possible to get through the DB skills without murdering a single random person. It's important to remember, they are an assassin guild. Not a group of marauders.ShedsHisTail wrote: »In fact, write this down so I don't forget, I'll put 25,000 Gold (to you, exclusively) on the idea that both the Dark brotherhood -and- the Theives Guild require you to engage in criminal activity in order to either advance your rank or complete the quest line.

What is the big issue with you that you try to deny others every new content just because it might not be something you will use? Why must every piece of new content be for exclusively for you?
...Yet you demand that pvp has no place in this game, that every reward, skill line or achievement must be given to pve players as well....
Right now I believe that those pvp players that you like to call "griefer, sadist" etc. might be more peaceful and tolerant than you..

Because pve players are more likely to feel excluded by making those two guilds force pvp content on them. Whereas pvp players won't feel so much excluded by doing pve content, they might feel less inclined, but not excluded to the point they would feel upset or anxious like a pve player might in forced pvp content. I think you misunderstood my post. I did use your quote to show the one sided responses in this thread so far. While I am not a pvp player or a pve, but a RP that does both - I think that many found the devil already in those who pvp, while they refuse to make compromises or a clear structure of arguments against specific "upcoming features".
If I wrote "you" then this was aimed at people who used those insults and phrases and not at the user "Babylon"
Lets face it,
the general attitude at this thread is pretty rude. Its a bit like with a "mob" that found a person they hate and now they bully him or her around. There is no real conversation happening, its just a mindless bashing of a group that has given up responding to this thread since a while.
I wanted to point this out and I think I succeeded. Nothing against you in person, sorry if you took it that way.

I am not really fighting against anything, I just felt someone had to step in to stop the mindless bashing. Its always easy to hit people who are on the ground already, so I felt someone had to help them up again. Call me a pacifist if you like.
