I'd already subbed as soon as I bought it. And I'm keeping that sub. Coming from beta I knew there would be problems (there always is) they will get worked out eventually. The main thing is, I'm having so much fun in eso. Ive met some great people and we are making it fun for each other. Tagging along, helping out, swapping mats, mailing armours/weapons to each other for use or deconstructs. Laying waste to dungeons, trying different tactics and generally having much fun.

This is a great opening to a great mmo. Yes, there's problems and they will get fixed. The people behind this are working their asses off to get it sorted. To get it sorted will take more than a day, week, month and hell, maybe a few years.

Basically are you having fun? If yes, great! Let's roll.

No? Then that's fine, try something else. Really, no need for QQs.

Report your bugs, issues etc constructively and they will be addressed eventually. Patience people. This is gonna be big :D

I subbed a month ago, 6 month sub. no regrets!

I haven't been this addicted to a game in a long time.

Edit: Actually that's likely not entirely true. I was heavily addicted to skyrim and fallout 3. Still love those a lot and can play them over and over.

I'd also like to add that despite having very few reasons to deal with support, every encounter with them that I did have was pleasant and I either got my answer or my issue resolved.

    Quite happy!

My butthole tightens when i see things like this come up. I am subbing because i am addicted. So much so that i get on for 15 minutes before i have to leave for work just to check the guild store.
I worry that there will be a mass exodus of people because they are too impatient to give it a proper go. I get bugs and have frustrations like everyone else but i remind myself its been a month.
If everyone leaves i'm scared it will go free to play, and i will have to quit because micro transactions eat balls.

Subbed for 6 months with automatic 6 month resub for the foreseeable future, considering how cheap it is with bulk purchasing time (almost as cheap as my FFXIV Legacy monthly sub), and even a month after launch im still not 50, so much content left to do, more than enough to keep me happy, plus Craglorn and future content is on its way...

I have to amend my previous statement.

The community (at least on the NA server) has completely wore me down. I really can't enjoy the game anymore. Which is sad, because it's an amazing game. Absolutely amazing.

Between the relentless trolling and complaining on the forums, to the over-entitled attitudes in zone chat, my patience has run out.

You know what it feels like? It feels like a small handful of people are really unhappy with it; which is going to happen in any game. But this small handful of people seems absolutely hell-bent on ruining it for as many other people as they can before they leave.

Just last night, I actually had someone in zone chat drop a couple major plot spoilers, just for giggles. Sure, I ignored him, but that doesn't let me un-read what he typed.

Every "I want an Auction House" thread makes me die a little on the inside. I can't figure out why these people are so overly-consumed with the buying and selling of items, when there's a detailed, rich, beautiful world that ZOS created for them to explore.

I can't walk five feet without seeing someone named "Weed McSmokealot" or "Pwns The Noobs", or some other ridiculous variation of it.

About an hour ago, I had mentioned to the boyfriend that this would be the last new MMO that I ever played. I hate to say it, but the WoW community moves from game to game like a swarm of locusts. They consume and destroy everything they see, and then fly off to the next thing, leaving only a barren field for the survivors to clean up. I really can't see myself investing in any new games in the future, when I can justifiably assume they'll do the same to that one too.

Short of turning off chat, I really can't see a solution to avoiding the vocal minority that's intent on destroying everyone else's fun. And if I turn off chat, I might as well be playing something single-player.

So sad that, of all the games that these people could wreck, they choose this one. It's like they're pouring battery acid on a Picasso masterpiece "just for the lolz". It's more than bothersome; it's slightly infuriating.

I'm going to attempt to play on the EU server for awhile, and see if that community is any different. But I'm certainly not getting my hopes up.

I really miss nameplates - while eso is more realistic i absolutely hate that i dont see who's next to me. I rather see *** names than running next to guild members/friends without noticing.

Evenly importent is that i cant stand 5 Button combat. This is try 3 ( Guildwars2, Neverwinter, Eso ) for me and thats it. I will never buy another game with such a restriction - i need my situational buttons and rotions. And since all mmos in development have this console/casual focused combat styles i need to find another hobby it seems *laughs*

I'll probably stay subscribed until I've finished the VR zones. I imagine that once I run out of quests/content there wont be much point, as I'm not interested in pvp and I'm not interested in the raid grind.

I enjoy the crafting and economic sides of MMOs, and the absolutely crippled system in ESO for both of these due to overrestrictive inventory limits, overrestrictive market tied into a guild system that actually discourages social interaction by slapping a "more members!!!" requirement on - makes these elements less than desirable.

The broken quests and buggy content actually aren't an issue for me, I expect these issues in a new game and I can be patient about them. Its just the overall vision of the game seems to be this constant force to push people into levels of interaction that shouldn't be necessary. If I feel that it is impossible to grow/develop my character on my own time without resorting to scheduled raids or hours spent /lfg, I will lose interest quickly. Normally the economic and crafting niche fills this gap as it allows one to at least progress economically, but with the limitations here not even that is an option.

    Hey, we're lovely people.

However, not everyone speaks English. Zone chat does have quite a lot of German, French and various other languages in it.

Our bot problem, especially in the three factions main city zones (Stonefalls, Glenumbra and wherever the Elflings go), is terrible.

And we have just as many idiots in zone chat.

You won't find it any different, except you won't be able to understand half of what is said in zone chat.

I subscribed the day I set up my first character in early access. I enjoyed the game in beta and I foresaw that I'd get more than a month's gameplay from this game.

I'll admit that I only chose a month, even though I thought that a longer subscription period would be better value. The reason for this having been left stranded in MMOs before. It's no fault of the game, but when/if people leave a game and the servers empty it's just not as much fun anymore, simply for that reason.

The game might still be great but if there's simply not enough people about to give you players to play with then it saps the fun. Hopefully the emgaserver setup will lessen that effect.

Let's hope people stick around. The game is good enough now, but it thrills me to think how good it could be in a few months or a year down the road. The changes that Zeni have highlighted leave me buzzing and I want to see them.

I'll do a month now and hope the game's still busy at the end of that. Then I'll think about three months, or more.

I'm not going to choose this thread to comment on anyone else's reasons for not subscribing; but I urge people to at least think it through, and listen to the subjectivity from people who know this genre better and have experience of launches. ESO has had a launch as good, if not better, than most MMOs. There's always going to be an ironing out period.

If you like anything about this game, that you think you might miss, then at least give the rest a chance and let ESO be a success. Let's have a thriving MMO that's not WoW. What's one month at £8.99 (or your equivalent) to let a game get the polish it deserves?
  • sevcik.miroslaveb17_ESO
I am going to sub for another month, perhaps two. I want to finish all quests etc.
If they implement player shops I will sub for at least half a year in an instant.

Still trade may not back me off since I found friendly guild who are really helping each other, therefore gold is useless. I need it only for bag, bank horse upgrades.
  • Athise

Unsubbed 2 days after i bought the game , Just to make sure i'm not auto-paying for this game. It's been 10 days without starting ESO up.
I actually see no reason to play because i have enough other games that give better enjoyment in PvP/PvE content.
Crafting is nice , but without a decent economy/ way to sell things i'm not going to bother.(Bots are better at gathering anyway i stand no chance)

So overall the promised content/features are not enough to keep me playing. Since the current content is a lackluster PvP and PvE-wise. It really doesn't matter what they add when the core of the game is flawed (imo).

I hope everyone has a great time ingame, I just can't.

Yes I am subscribed and the news yesterday proves that they are working hard, that is all I needed to know.

Not everything I wanted, but some of the things I wanted. It is not MY game so some of the things they add are not for me but for others, that is ok I am a veteran MMO player and know how to have fun.

30 day sub only but recurring. I will cancel if they go F2P. I will have to go back to something old if that happens or maybe FFXIV but I PRAY TESO will stay subbed.

I definitely will be subbing. I"m slow as I have a job and real life obligations so I"m only level 30 after this first month. I"m in no hurry. It will be some time before I get through all the content and as is the nature of mmo's there will be more content coming. Sure there are some issues that can be frustrating but I am willing to stick around through ESO's growing pains. I am having a blast so far.

I got into this game because it's Elder Scrolls. I also enjoy mmo's in general and so it just seems to fit. Here is to hoping the game get's better and thrives as I see great potential in what they are trying to do. I will be here as long as they stay a sub game as well. Tried the free to play thing and I just can't seem to get invested in games where you can just pay real money to get stuff. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

    Anyways, just my two cents.

Yes I'm subbing. Initially I wasn't even sure I was getting the game. I did a couple of BETAs and even though I liked it well enough I wasn't sure I had enough free time to play. I bought it 2 days before early access.

I have even less time to play then I thought but the game is giving me enough enough entertainment satisfaction with the small bits of time I can log on that I'm going to stick around. It's worth while even if I can only play a few hours a week.

Besides my highest character is only level 23. I need more time to at least get through leveling. :) At the rate I'm going now should be there in a few months and by that time there will be more stuff.

In the MMO's I played before I would play for hours and was always finishing and waiting for new content. Now I'm not sure if I'll even catch up and that's okay. It really will be like having neverending game and always something to look forward too. That's worth 15 bucks a month to me.

I already subbed for 90 days and will continue that, or possibly extend it thereafter for longer.

I'm taking it slowly, enjoying the PvE enormously with no interest in PvP. Had one bugged quest which was easily resolved, no significant technical issues, and (on the EU server) have only seen a handful of gold-selling announcements and in-game mails with none in the last few days. I generally disable zone chat and yells and rely when needed on zone English which is pretty trouble-free.

Having played many MMOs since 1998 I can honestly say this is up there with the best of them, and the chances are it will only get better. There are some things I'd prefer to be changed like the inventory slots and the wretched Guild Store system, but they don't detract from what to me is a simply awesome game. Kudos Zenimax!
