Fixed.
That only works when your ignore list isn't full of bots...
It's more "other people want to change my experience to make it less immersive, please don't let them".I shouldnt have to do as you suggest, because what I want is to do nothing while you do all the work!! I shouldnt have to do any work, it shouldnt be enabled! That means people who want it should do as I want!! WWWWAAAAAHHHHHH
Thats what you sound like.

WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO INSTALL AN ADDON TO BLOCK ANOTHER ADDON FROM MESSING WITH OUR SETTINGS PERIOD...

The colours are used for two things so far, advertising/attention seeking and trying to scam/confuse others. Neither add to my game experience (though I admit I don't care a lot personally). No one has a chat colour changing mod to enhance their own experience.

Yeah, but you can remove this which is also a point I made.
So... do it or shut up about it. If you want something removed, for which there is a player made fix for, then use that fix. Others might want to continue using it, despite your obviously biased view on "oh well its not adding anything to their experience" opinion.
Your fix is to remove it entirely... which is BS.
I've seen people using it trying to scam other players by posting fake item links in chat.
The biggest problem I see with it are the gold spammers that have decided to become rainbow warriors. The X4d spam blocker is pretty decent, but it doesn't catch it all, unfortunately.

It affects the text on MY client. It is not made by the publisher I pay a sub to.
Therefore it is third party interference with MY game experience.
There should be NO cosmetic mods that affect another players client. That is simple enough.
There's no good reason for an API that allows text colour changing like this in the first place, if it breaks a mod somewhere by removing this feature that's being so heavily abused then fine, mods are optional and not required to play the game.To ban the mod would require API changes and this possibly affects other mods as well which is not a desired effect

So in your book it's oki to be forced into install a addon to counter a addon you don't have installed??
That's what I'll call BS..

So instead of you doing one simple thing, you want to take something away from everyone, because you cant handle it.
Then you know what? Deal with it...
It's not a mod. Anythign the add-on does can be done without the add-on. I can type in colors while using the clean vanilla version of ESO, you arrogant skeever.

A mod WE didn't install should never effect OUR chat in a way WE don't want. I don't care if only people with the mod can see color text but when a mod someone else installs effects me...YES it should be dealt with and this should be blocked without forcing me to download another addon.
Furthermore the implications of this mod scamming people, distracting other players and faking system messages, alone are enough that this should be banned.
And to the genius saying "oh its called /ignore" I would have to ignore the person AFTER they already used the mod to annoy myself and others in zone....and no I am not turning zone chat off because a few tools are using a mod that changes my default settings.
Te recap...No it is not fair or logical to force us to download and install an addon just to combat another addon changing our settings.
If it was in vanilla, it was intended. Saying otherwise is making you look like a fool and a troll. It's not affecting anyone's default chat settings, you're just assuming your default chat settings are limited to just white. Just stop posting, it's obvious you're just trolling now.

Honestly I dont think they should waste their time with fixing it since this guy has provided a fix already.
