An interesting link for some of you. It's quite ambiguous on how much money Force is actually making, but it makes it clear that he is making a decent bit of money. I'm not sure I'd call it a living:

    http://socialblade.com/youtube/user/ForceSC2Strategy

    $2.3K - $19.4K
    ESTIMATED MONTHLY EARNINGS

    $27.9K - $232.4K
    ESTIMATED YEARLY EARNINGS

I doubt he makes the upper end of that, but it all depends on his deal that YouTube partner has given him, which the details of that are undisclosed.

    ---

EDIT his partner is with RPM (http://www.rpmnetwork.com/) but I'm unable to find a lot of hard information on how much he gets paid per view. It doesn't sound good though, from what I've been reading. Somewhere around $1 per thousand views. He's had upwards of 3 million views total in the last 30 days though (which is +13% which is a substantial increase, so he's definitely getting more popular, and his video library is growing quickly since he's publishing a new video 2-3 times a day it seems). That works out to roughly $3.8k before taxes. Not terrible but still not a good living. $45k/yr before taxes. Of course, he has no benefits if he is self employed (unless he's paying for that from what he's making).

Here's another tidbit that you might not know. Views don't have to come from YouTube's site. There are many ways he can get views without them counting towards his pay for adverts. Apparently mobile views is also vastly underpaid. So in other words, I could be over-projecting what he's making by quite a bit.

The best thing to do would be try to get an official response from him on how much he's making, but he might not want to reveal that information *wink*.

Good maybe the IRS can investigate. He can then get off foodstamps/welfare and out of his moms house.

Do we really need a 10 min video complaining about this blocked quest line. He said the same thing over and over. And to worry that the game will be doomed because this guy has this issue, please. Most players can't get 6 days of game time in the first 2 weeks of launch. The bugs will get worked out. Leave if you want. I'll have to read less whining in these forums
"I'll have to read less whining in these forums". You know what you just did? You whined. You whined about the people whining. You are no better yourself. And those other people are not whining, they are complaining reasonably so that zenimax can see this problem and change it. As force said, the process blocking problem he had was minor and he didn't think it was going to get fixed soon. Well if we make zenimax see this then it has a much bigger chance of getting fixed. And do you think it's weird that people that has been stuck for a week complains here on the forum and that they are angry? It's not at all and they have every right to be. They are paying for the game and this should have been fixed a long time ago. Even zos said once when announcing a new patch that most quests, if not all should have been fixed by now. Well, when there are progression blocking quests which is the most important ones to fix still left in the game which should have been fixed many, many beta test ago (and I say this as someone that's been in 5 beta tests) in a game that they are paying for I don't think it's weird that they are mad. You obviously have not had any of these problems and that's why you aren't complaining yourself...

The guy you replied to probably doesn't live in the U.S. because if he did, he would know that no one jokes about the IRS and that it is difficult for Americans to get welfare unless they have young children. Maybe in Europe it is easy to get on the welfare rolls. There are many EU players on this forum and EU players do get world firsts in many video games, hmm.

I tend to be a completest ( I like to do everything in every zone including every quest) when I play RPGs and this game is driving me crazy. I feel like Sheldon on that one episode of Big Bang Theory when Amy tries to cure Sheldon of his need to complete everything but instead just goes crazy and wants to tear his face off. Every time I look at my map in ESO and see a black icon and remember I can't change it to a white icon because of a bug I want to tear my face off as well.

hahahahaha I know that feeling T-T

I like Force, I think he is one of the good guys but I also found it amusing that he kept quiet as long as it did not affect him in any way but now that it does, albeit way worse than most of us, now he raises his voice for the sake of the community.

But yes, he talks about how this affects the whole community and how it is a disgrace of affairs that these kind of bugs still exist in launch and come on ZoS, it has been 2 weeks already and most bugged quests are still bugged or taken out temporarily.

This is not good for you business, where are the fixes?

For example today, I played the AD mission where you have to
help the Silvenar and Greenlady to get married but the city is overrun by the Hound and his associates, the thing is.

Only one player can talk to the witches at a time and when you talk to them, they run off and disappear and when there are 40 players trying to do the same thing, it can take hours to progress just because of poor design mechanic and poor implementation.

I know this is your first MMO but still, really guys? You thought this would work well at some point? Did you really think so at some point?

Honestly. Force wouldnt be in this predicament if he wasnt blowing throw the content just three short weeks after the servers went up.

Dont really feel bad for him and if he wasnt in such a hurry to sit at VR10 with a small number of other players. He'd have plenty of time to make leveling videos, exploration videos and so forth with very little issue.

No kidding. I have to laugh when I see tags like that. It's another guy that makes videos and throws them on YT.

    "He's got a bazillion followers!"

So? What makes his view so different than anyone else? He no different than any poster in the forums. People here are just as verbal, passionate and knowledgeable about the game as he is and some surpass that.

The difference is he makes a video in lieu of simply typing out his opinion.

Yeah....remember when Star Wars Galaxies first came out? or hell Ultima? Everquest? 90% less whining and moaning, and 99% less trolls too

In all honesty, I think it's a generational thing.

I would be willing to stake money on my observation that most of the whiners seem to fall into the 16-25 year old demographic.

People who were around and sentient during the early MMO days were enthralled by every little change they made. Just being on EQ1 was like magic.

That sense of appreciation doesn't really fade over time. Every little step forward the gaming industry makes incites further awe. And why shouldn't it? We're using electricity and metal to transmit realistic video around the world with milliseconds of latency.

But for someone who grew up with an iPhone in their hand and a laptop in front of them from age 8 onward, it's a lot harder to make an impression. They want perfection, they want it yesterday, and they want it connected to Facebook and Youtube seamlessly -- and they want it for free.

    This. So much this.

While I didn't play EQ1 until much later after release, my first true MMO launch was WoW - one of the buggiest launches in MMO history. The community around that was stellar at first, when the game was a little more "hardcore" (at least it was harder) and even though servers were down for days at a time and characters were rolled back and we lost progression - we saw the potential of the game through all of the smoke and fire, and stuck with it. Look what eventually became of WoW - peaked at over 10 million subscribers.

I would also wager that the majority of people screaming about the sky falling would be under 25. Most likely in their teens. They simply don't have the appreciation for these things, and they have a disgusting sense of entitlement. None of them know the first thing about programming or code in general, none of them knows what goes into an MMO launch - they just expect it to be perfect because they dont understand. That's all it really is, and it's depressing to think about. In terms they'd understand - launching an MMO perfectly with no problems would be like going through school without a mark under 100%. Because the programming has to be 100% perfect - 99% means something is bugged, which means something else is most likely bugged too. They just dont get that though.

A game like WoW that's been out for a decade still has bugs. But the sky is falling because poor entitled Joe 16 year old cant progress right now in a game that is less than a month old. Seriously?

The point is that there are bugged quests and questlines all over the place. If you are lucky, those aren't progression blocking, but if like Force those are you are sol. If Zeni want people subbing and resubbing over the coming months, there needs to be a comprehensive rethink of progression tied to quests.

People blowing this off as not a problem need to take a look at the bigger picture, if a rabid fan of the game is getting pissed off, if his friends are already quitting due to frustrations with the game and people you know are switching from 6 month to 3 month to 1 month plans and seriously debating whether to bother subbing at all... the game has a serious problem. Whether it directly affects you or not, it will affect subscriber numbers.

    http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/

I understand he is making a more professional "post" about the bug TESO is, but there it ends.

Interesting stawman argument, but that is all that it is. Yes, compared to the population of the planet is 350K is nothing, however the population of the planet is completely irrelevant, because it is the subset of that population that are MMO gamer's that matter, so a much smaller community and when the community/subset shrinks then 350K becomes exponentially more significant.

The fact is that folks like Force with his 350K subs are folks that game review magazines and sites listen to, and where they get information for their write-up so if folks like Force are commenting on the problems it means people in the industry are listening.
What is written above are my honest opinions. If you agree then; "Great!" If you disagree; "Great!" I really couldn't care less either way.

Or what about the fact that despite what he or she might think, they still want to bring forth issues they want to be taken care off and a good way to do it is trough sources like he/she has represented here. There is a reason why people use sources in all social media to reference and further back up their claims.

    Surely.

It means he has a boat load of viewers and gets paid in a couple of ways. Advertising on his channel, sponsorships.. whatever.

He has 350k +subscribers which is MORE than any show on msnbc or cnn have viewers.

That's what it means and ZoS would be even dumber than they already appear if they don't see the problem.

Pretending to not know, or actually not knowing the impact of youtube vids is sooooo ten years ago.

Your argument has some flaws there buddy.

Nielsen Cable Network Coverage Estimates (as of August, 2013)

    CNN/HLN: 99.292 million HHs

    CNBC: 96.242 million HHs

    FNC: 97.186 million HHs

    MSNBC: 94.519 million HHs

    Fox Business: 75.501 million HHs

Nielsen TV Ratings Data: ©2014 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

Flaws? How did you ever get through school? Those aren't numbers for shows.

No show on cnn/hln or msnbc has a even one million viewers.

Well today's patch seems to be addressing the quest progression blockers and perhaps fixing the issues with loading screens, if it works colour me impressed that the devs have actually listened.

Now if they can repair the economy by chasing down those who exploited the dupe bug maybe we'll be getting somewhere back towards a good launch and potentially good mmo.

I doubt that they will do anything meaningful to those who got millions of game gold from the duping exploit. The exploiters have already sold the duped items through guild bank sales and laundered the gold from those sales buy buying items from their friends (at inflated prices).

So basically the gold from the exploits have been laundered into clean game gold and ZOS can't do anything. Even if the exploiters' accounts get banned, those accounts are probably stripped bare and mere shell by now. Or if they were really cagey, they canceled their account and got a cash refund from ZOS for their game before they got the banhammer.
