Well done ZOS. Now one of your biggest fans and utuber/streamer is fed up with the bugs. Believe you me, once people like Force start highlighting this bug fest then the nasty stuff is really going to hit the fan.
LOL Force, who the hell is he? An internet nobody who for some readsong the easily-lead seem to think is some sort of guru.

Laughable. No one with any sense takes notice of lolstreamers and their egos.

I've had some bad experiences with the customer service too. Especially with the sky warp bug. You know, where you'd be warped to an area where you are surrounded by skybox. No land in sight.

The first time it happened, I submitted a ticket, and within 15 minutes, a helpful CSR logged onto my account, and moved me to a level relevant city within my faction.

The next time it happened, I submitted a ticket, and after 2 hours of idling in-game, I never received a response. I eventually logged off and went to bed. I checked my email at work the next day to find a response from a CSR stating that I should report it as a bug...mind you, this was the day before the fix for this bug was released in a patch. In other words, this bug was well known.

Furthermore, he recommended I try /stuck, /reloadui, or teleporting to a wayshrine. All things that, of course, I tried ahead of time, and indicated such in my ticket.

Lastly, he didn't even bother to teleport me to a city. In fact I'm still stuck in the sky now...

Time to put in another ticket, and hopefully it'll be resolved by the time I get home.

Reviewers just put their opinions out there and if they match a wide audiences opinions then they get guru status. These reviewers get good at saying what people want to hear and it's alot less about the truth than getting subscribers, advertising money etc.
So basically opinions are like _____, everyone's got one.

Yet another poster who fails to engage brain and just posts a reply without bothering to read the topic.

None of what you said has any relevance to what this thread is about.

I posted a concern that bugs in the game were now getting so serious (depending on your point of view) that bad publicity was being generated and that was a bad thing.

At no stage have I ever said things like I expected 100% bug free etc etc.

Please read a post before making repliesz.

No you didn't say that the game should be 100% bug free, but the subtext and the implications strongly hints towards the game should have far less bugs, and that is not possible on a newly released game. And regardless of how "bug free" the game would be, there would still be numerous of posts and videos complaining about how buggy the game is.

The trick in determining whether or not a game is good, bad or very buggy, is to have a broad example on what you read. If you judge a game based solely on one review, you're not going to get a good picture of the game. If you read a broad sample and they all mention the same problems, you have a better understanding.

I therefore think that there are no "bad" publicity from these so called "reviews" and videos around the web. It's simply people that have decided that they wanted to make a popular video on Youtube on a popular subject while the fact reminds that their character is still stuck in Couldharbour with Cadwell playing the guitar.

I do look up reviews on some things. Honestly typing in eso review in Google landed me everything I needed to see. If I am researching a game, I am most likely going to end up buying it simply because it already has my interest enough to look it up.

60$-80$ on a game is cheap entertainment even if I end up leaving it after a week. If I like it I made out pretty well considering I spend more a weekend just in one outing with the girls than I do on a game.

It is a game for me. I make my own choices but I do like to see what others think on occasion. I don't let the fans sway me and I do not let those "nothing makes me happy" types either. I just cannot take a guy on YouTube serious. Imho if they take this guy serious they might as well be sacrificing virgins to the game gods…

right or wrong I just can't let a" youtuber" get me all flustered where I am all but drooling over him on a forums lol..If the other "YouTubers" you mentioned are prophet (FIXED) and the end is near I guess I will get a I told you so post and humbly say you were right. Till then I like the word " YouTuber " LOL the word of the day

Oh look, someone who didnt watch the video. How new and exciting.

I believe he states in the vid that he did know where he got the quest, and that upon dropping it he could no longer pick it up. He searched for hours and found nothing.

I had this happen to me once, so I can confirm that this bug exists.

Quest in Greenwood to talk to the queen. The queen will not spawn, and upon dropping the quest (in hopes of resetting in), he will no longer offer it. He talks like you still have the quest. Thankfully this wasnt a story stopper, but still annoying.

Should we bring up Unsafe Haven? You know, that quest that was reported as bugged up to 2 months before released during beta events? I hear they finally fixed it just yesterday.

The point is - for many of you, a "youtuber's" opinion may me nothing but that is not true for everyone. For the last 10 yrs, as soon as I hear about a game and become interested, the very first thing I do is go to Youtube - it is the one place what will come closest to re-creating the actually look and feel of the game, pictures dont do that, they dont let you hear the sounds, the ingame music, etc. They dont show you how the characters move, spell effects and other key aspects.
-Youtube and 'Youtuber's' are possibly a lot more influential than you want to believe.

How many times have you blasted someone for complaining on forums about something …..? I see tons of post all over games telling people

"don’t complain on forums put in a ticket that’s what bug reports are for they don't read the forums" and end up calling them whiners or other names …. It is horrible to think of some of the nasty responses I have seen to people complaining about bugs or frustrated by them in general.

But some guy whines on a YouTube post over a bug and he is suddenly the "prophet"( Fixed ) because he has peoples following him on the net?

I am not catching the whole bigger picture here? Yes it is a bug yes it is frustrating and I get that but why is his whining about it more important? because he can video it?

People may value his opinion but why do I want to watch someone whine about it? it is an opinion and like his this is mine.

Ok. INSTEAD of shitting on youtubers and saying they suck 'n all that, how about you actually realize that -he.got.a.point.- it doesn't matter if he's a youtuber or just a random gamer, he's stuck and he can't progress. And it has happened to all of us, unless you didn't play the game you -did- come across a bug that stopped you from progressing. Some could be fixed, some just stayed buggy, fine there may be just a small reward to it or whatever, but what if I want the achievement tied to it?
Seriously, I love this game and I don't regret buying it in the slightest - heck I already set up a subscription plan, but if Zenimax doesn't even give a ***, like they ain't even communicating with us at that point, a subscription plan can be cancelled just as easily.

    I always laugh at this

During Beta: Games in beta! Stuff will be fixed before release!

After release: Games new! Stuff will be fixed soon!

2 months later: Wow had bugs at release! 10 years is not long enough to technology to evolve and mistakes to be learned!

After f2p: Games great! Doing so much better now that 90% of the population is gone and the game is remembered as a joke! That 300 million spent on development really shows the quality now!

Just because you submitted a bug ticket doesn't mean that the bug is easy to track down and fix. I bet the sky-warp bug was extremely difficult to find because it seemed to happen almost at random.

As a software engineer, I know how frustrating it can be to track down a bug without 100% reproduction steps. If you can't reproduce a bug on demand, it becomes very difficult to figure out how to fix it. Likewise, it's just as hard to state that it IS fixed.

    You basically have two options:
    • Comb over all code involved line by line, analyzing the affect each line of code might have.
    • Keep trying to figure out the reproduction steps yourself, until you find a way to reproduce the bug 100% of the time. Then you can drill down into the code that produces the bug.

That's not an excuse for bugs to go unfixed, but it is an excuse for them to go unfixed for days, and even weeks at a time. If a bug isn't fixed within months, well, that's probably a sign that the developer is either misallocating resources (aka putting too many people on new content) or simply don't consider the bug a high priority.

I've never heard of Force, but I'm not sure why whether or not he is well known is relevant. The video itself rather clearly highlights what appears to be a game-stopping bug. Not, apparently, a game-stopping bug for everyone, but still--why is whether or not Force is popular relevant to the content of the video?

This is my problem with fanbois.

This gamer on youtube had more viewers than MOST shows on msnbc or cnn and the ones that are ahead of him are only just.

No show on msnbc or cnn has even a million viewers.

Are you kidding me your probably the biggest fanboy of this force guy. Lmao, he has an opinion of a game, an OPINION. We all entitled to our own, but if you aren't going to play a game because of someone else's opinion, then I'm sorry for you. ESO, is still a new game and of course bugs will arise, but they will get them fixed. And No ZOS probably doesnt give a Damn about some reviewer who's repeating issues that I'm sure they've already heard of.

Lets not forget that "force" (you cant nickname yourself rule 1) was crying over a ***-up he made himself.

    yes / no.

he was in that area, and picked up a quest there, then decided to abandon it, because it was bugged i think he said?...in any event, it didn't work when he had it, so he abandoned it...expecting that when he returns it will be there.

Are players supposed to have some kind of fore-sight knowing that what's there today will magically disappear tomorrow?

i mean, it is stopping people from advancing to the next areas. it's silly that the system is like that.
