Not having the money is one thing. You might be able to borrow it or something. My box is in the mail, even though I ordered it months ago, and will not arrive till Tuesday. I have no options. Without a code I am ***. I can't even pay for the month to avoid missing out, since I CAN'T SET UP SUB WITHOUT A CODE! Total bs. I was loving the game, and now I am seriously considering returning it.
How are they to know if you actually paid for your preorder or not? You know lots of people wanted CE boxes and were unable to buy them. You should consider yourself lucky you got one.
BECAUSE I ALREADY PUT IN MY PRE-ORDER CODE! It was emailed during the beta. That is how i got my 5 days early access, the horse, the vanity pet, etc. They have already given me these things. Clearly I have already paid them, A LOT OF MONEY. What I don't have is the full game access code that comes in the box, so now I can't play anymore. This is bs, no two ways about it.
You dont have to pay upfront for preorders at a lot of places. Gamestop for example didnt charge me until it shipped.
I ordered this game on 1/30. That gave the re-seller plenty of time to figure out how to get the game to my door, don't you think? I did nothing wrong and now I am being penalized. Perhaps the re-seller messed up and didn't ship in time. Perhaps Zenimax did not get the product released to re-sellers in time. I don't know and I don't care. I was promised that if I payed $100 I would get to play a game. The money has been taken from my account and I am out in the cold. Zenimax can easily fix the situation buy extending the grace period to a week.
Zenimax did nothing wrong either. They sent the boxes to the reseller. I knew if I wanted it before early access ended I better pay for overnight shipping because the 4th was a Friday.

The reason is in the ToS and was already explained some pages ago... if you plan to cancel your subscription, you need to notify ZeniMax at least 30 days in advance. Given that as you create a subscription plan to play your 30 days, those 30 days become immediately 29, you can cancel your subscription for the next month, but ZeniMax can still charge you for it.invisiBeelity wrote: »Why do I need to set up a sub plan JUST to get the 30 free days? Now we get to the crux of the matter as to why this is absolutely outrageous.jaschacasadiob16_ESO wrote: »The reason is in the ToS and was already explained some pages ago... if you plan to cancel your subscription, you need to notify ZeniMax at least 30 days in advance. As Customer Care explicitly said, and you can find copy/pasted messages in this thread, you need to pay a(nother) month to play the month you already paid for.
I agree, it was unexpected by me as well, to have to pay at to begin the 30 free day access. Just to clarify, each player is required to have a subscription plan in mind before getting into the actual game. Ideally, you won't be getting charged for this until the end of the 30 day period, so you can end this at any point. These charges may appear as "pending" until that time, so the money may not be available. Furthermore, if any charges weren't completed on our end--and since none were, according to these tickets--you should be getting the money credited back for the incomplete transactions within three to five business days (but some customers get these a little earlier).
So! If you would still be interested in setting up a subscription plan through our site, you can try the following troubleshooting tips:
- Try clearing your cache, history, and cookies in your browser before making a new purchase.
- Try using a new browser.
- Try double checking all of your information on the site; anything wrong, such as writing "St." instead of "St", or by using an address after a move, could cause complications.
- Try purchasing with a mobile phone, or on another machine, with another source of internet.
- Try again later, since there could be a lot of traffic on the site.
I hope that was able to help, and clear up some questions. If you would like me to call you later, please let me know, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible! I hope we can get this resolved tonight.

16 hours and waiting.. This is the answer i got after 1 hour from email, so emailing took 1 hour and phone is taking +16 hours..
Sadly I went to sleep right after I sent the email as it was at 2 am and I only sent the email incase the phone would take more than 1 day (but in turn, the email took 1 hour)..

First they spell out how the subscription works well before the release date. Then they make it clear that it's a temporary authorization that falls off your card (this means you still have 30 days free). So really there is absolutely nothing to complain about. If you don't have the funds, they will work with you. How is that shady? How is that bad business practices?
This is why free MMOs were a bad idea. Because now people expect completely free. Now it's entitlement. Now they are owed something. You are owed nothing. You work, assuming you aren't subsidized by your parents or the government, to earn money, where you decide how to spend it. Zenimax provides entertainment value for a price. You don't like that price. You don't want to pay it. But you are still entitled to receive the entertainment?
Let's call it for what it is: after spending your hard-earned entertainment dollars on a carton of smokes, six pack of brew, taco bell, feed the 5 dogs, grab a few lottery tickets while replenishing the slim jim stock, renewing our *** subs, and buying one more micro SD card on sale at Target for the digital camera you don't even use anymore, there really isn't enough money on the card left for a $12 auth that falls off in 24-48 hours. We all understand. So what to do, what to do. You can either call their support line and they'll help you out. Or you can come here and complain because you are not getting exactly what you feel you are entitled to, when you feel you are entitled to it.
So again the choices are: (1) act like an adult, or (2) act like a 4 year old. Because option (3) act like a financially-responsible adult is clearly out the window.
The point my friend is that some people want to pay with timecards, and some can only pay with time cards. This fix by zen means that those people have to pay for a time card b4 they get their FREE days!
It sux, it shady and it so not even needed!
@Carafina34 Actually people are ticked over authorizations, and that is what the title of the post is about. Which a few to many people have conveniently forgot or overlooked because that isn't their issue, but they are going to troll about it to get attention, not to mention that what you are referring to is a separate issue entirely.
Edit: Added reference quotes.

I got mine from there web site so it is payed for in full. So thy know you payed for it.
If you bought it from Zenimax then whats the problem? Your acct is ready to go. We are talking about people who preordered the physical edition.
